The waitress placed the meal on the table then leaned down to whisper in Shiress' ear. The barmaids green eyes slid to Bolivar as the waitress stepped away. "Seems I have been given the afternoon off, Sir Bolivar." She said smiling.

She tore off a small piece of bread and placed it in her mouth as the squire began to speak. This is the part of every conversation that Shiress hated, the part when asked to tell about herself. Thanks to Kise, she had already revealed more of herself than she normally would have to the squire and hopefully, he will offer her to tell her choice of information and not ask for it.

She smiled. "You admire me for my absolute beauty." She quipped playfully, sitting up straight and batting her eyelashes. "But Kise." She hesitated while resting her crossed arms on the table. "As you know by now, five days ago, I had the misfortune of making his acquaintance. I agreed to a drink and we had conversation, he insulted me and I insulted him. I walked out of the tavern and left him angry, yes, he was angry but not out of control." She leaned slightly forward more, creasing her eyes as she recollected the memory. "I never would have expected a squire, a future Syliran Knight, to follow me outside and bring a dagger against me, but he did and you know the rest. Followed by him stumbling away and falling out onto the road."

"Then." She began again lifting her eye brows. "Well, one hears many thought to be made up tales and stories surrounded by inebriated storytellers. I never expected the subject of such a story to step out of the shadows for me to see."

The barmaid sat up, showing more interest in this part of the story, before continuing. "The sound of ten knights marching filled the street, but only one stepped from the shadows. The air seemed to turn stale as he..it moved into the torch light. I wasn't afraid, not until it looked at me, then my blood ran cold and the way it moved, so calm and deliberate." She paused a chime drawing up her shoulders as a chill passed over her. "He just reached down and grabbed Kise's shoulder and pulled him away as if he was nothing, as if he was weightless." She paused again in thought and shook her head. "And that's how I met the good Kisetukai. A memorable night to say the least" She sighed.

Her eyes lifted. "Now, my new friend Bolivar, as far as myself, I'm a bit more boring than I'd like to admit. I've been in the city a full season and have worked here, in the stallion, for half that time. I know a few faces by name, but have fewer friends and no relationships to speak of. See, told you I was boring." She laughed. "Now, I bet the handsome Bolivar has a more interesting story to share." Her eyes lowered to his arms. "Surely you couldn't have acquired such strong arms training to be a knight. Could you?" She asked grinning.

"I don't recall actually saying anything like but... if that's what you think then go right ahead and think that then."

Rolling his eyes at the playful winks at him Bolivar tried to remain impartial for the time being. There will be time to exchange pleasantries in the future. At least he thought. You can never know with these things.

"He just insulted you for no reason you say? Then took it further? I'm surprised there is a man like that in Syliras still."

Noticing the sudden silence Bolivar looked at his meal slightly puzzled. It would take a time for him to get used to food outside Sultros. Everything here was so tender and frail... though seeing that it reflected on the population Bolivar found a reason not to complain.

"Squires are to be taught the virtues before they attain knighthood. A measure to make sure only those of good intentions are admitted in. Kistukai will learn or not be a knight at all."

Simply repeating what his instructors told him in the first few days of squirehood Bolivar nudged at his food slightly. Bolivar was just about to lose interest in the conversation until Shiress started on about the Syliran legend being made this season. The rogue knight. Staying quiet Bolivar let the waitress talk her fill before answering in turn.

"Calm and deliberate you say... Carrying with one hand? Did he say anything?"

Those two questions came to mind first followed by a rush of other possible details to consider. However it seemed that those two seemed to be of utmost importance. If it was by one hand the rogue knight probably knew flux. If he spoke then there might have been an accent to try and track. Then there was the general demeanor of the knight. What possibly could make him stay so calm doing such an act?

His hand covering his mouth Bolivar rested on the palm of his hand deep in though. This was just one instance. Perhaps with more information he would be able to actually work on tracking the vigilante down. Then call out for a knight to take care of the rest... Sighing slightly dejected Bolivar looked up noticing the light in Shiress's eye. Returning the motion with a small reassuring smirk Bolivar decided to postpone his careful considerations as Shiress made light of herself.

"Now that is where you are wrong. Already I am brimming with questions dear Shiress."

Reaching over and trying out what looked to be the regional cheese Bolivar's eyes perked slightly in satisfaction. Blushing slightly hearing she thought him handsome Bolivar tried to play down the compliment as he tried to hide himself with the food set him.

"Hardly. My story is quite similar to yours beautiful. Though I've stayed in Syliras longer then a season yet never really was a part of the city until early spring."

Finding himself simply staring at Shiress Bolivar could not help but smile like a fool. Following her gaze Bolivar raised an eyebrow before turning his face to give a conspiring look. This was the perfect chance to do what he set out to do in the first place! Shiress even managed to bring up the subject.

"Oh not at all. I um..." Looking slightly abashed Bolivar bobbed his head for a tic before following through with his offer. "I got them practicing to sweep pretty damsels in distress off their feet. Training to be a knight came much later admittedly."

Taking a hand to run through his hair bashfully Bolivar played with a stray hair just aboce his forehead before looking back at Shiress. Without realizing it the mixed blood was sincerely focused on just conversing with the Syliran.

"Would you like to see for yourself? Here! I'll show you."

Getting up slowly Bolivar walked over to Shiress's side. Though intially hesitating as he reached over Bolivar found his nerve as he carried the waitress for a few magnificent tics. Staring boldly at the other's eyes Bolivar could feel himself almost posing as he inscribed the moment to memory.

"So... first impressions. What have you to say about me?"

Smirking slightly, Bolivar eventually had his fill as he set Shiress down grinning more then satisfied with himself. Pulling a chair besides Shiress the squire sat with his hands over his lap scrutinizing the waitress once more. Bolivar sated his need for contact for the moment, right now he had to learn what there was to know about the woman before him.

"You and I are kindred spirits I believe."

Pausing for a moment Bolivar gauged Shiress's reaction before continuing. Reaching over to touch the woman's hand slightly.

"It's true! We both come from similar situations. Similar but I feel different in our own way. I'll tell you about me if you share yourself."

Removing his hand Bolivar looked back at his food slightly conflicted before coming to a decision. Pulling his plate towards him Bolivar ate a small morsel of bread and meat before draining it with the provided drink. Shrugging slightly Bolivar wondered perhaps a bit too late if the motion was considered rude. They were talking but they it was after all a dinner date. Looking to check back at Shiress Bolivar was on the fringes of outright just eating the platter before him within a chime.

Shiress' meal was untouched as her eyes studied Bolivar, her chin resting in the hand of her propped arm. An occasional smile and nod acknowledged her attention. The barmaid found the squire quite charming and, thus far, easy to talk to.

Her head lifted in interest at the squires question, her eyes falling away as she recalled the mysterious knight again. "No, he didn't say a word. He barely even noticed me." She answered shaking her head shifting in her chair as her eyes moved to again to Bolivar. "Know what, come to think of it, he seemed so much bigger than Kisetukai also. Actually, much bigger." Her eyes wandered slightly past the man as she became lost in her pondering until his voice brought her back to the conversation. She tilted her head, wondering how his life could possibly be similar to her own. Did he know enough to think so with the telling of her first meeting with Kise? The girl so very much wished she wouldn't speak when she was angry and when she did speak, she wished she'd have the mind to remember what she said.

As Bolivar's chair scrubbed across the wooden floor, she sat up straight with full attention, watching him closely as he stood and stepped to her side. "Show me whaaaa..Ohh!" Before she had a chance to figure out what the squire was doing he plucked her from her chair as if she were a feather, her arms wrapping quickly around the man's shoulders as he paraded her about. She was definitely not used to this type attention.

"A very good first impression." She stated with breathless embarrassment before burying her now brilliantly red face in the mans chest. Bolivar did in fact know how to sweep a girl off her feet and the girls first impression of the squire was turning for the better. As she was finally lowered back to her chair, she glanced quickly around to the neighboring tables and the shocked smiles coming from the faces of the occupants. She tucked fallen strands of auburn hair back in place with one hand, the other reaching for her drink as she settle back into place. She smiled shyly, lifting her mug to her lips and quickly taking a sip as it was more an attempt to swallow embarrassment than soothing a thirst. The smile stayed as Bolivar sat next to her. There was more to this squire than meets the eye and the thought of this grew even more as his hand touched hers and he spoke again.

Kindred spirits?

Her eyes followed the squire as he returned to his meal, her curiosity peaked. To not be rude and make the man uncomfortable, she lowered her eyes to her fingertip as it ran along the rim of her mug. She hated this part of a conversation, the part where she became conflicted. Tell her true past, make up a fictitious one, or maybe half of the first. She sighed, wishing she could recollect her angry words. How frustrating this was. The truth it is then. She decided finally. His reaction after all will serve as the type of man this squire is as far as She was concerned.

With a breath she began, somewhat reluctantly, telling the man of her life. Starting with the venture to Sunberth with her family, she explained of how she and her brother were taken and the last she saw of her brother followed by a very brief and vague description of her loss of freedom and the seasons of slavery. An even more vague description of the escape and the journey that ensued was given, she explained that her memory of it was gone. The memory of herself awaking very injured outside the city, the squire Richard Burke and her being cared for and ultimately saved by a doctor, was offered with more detail as this she could remember quite well.

She became quiet, listening for any reaction her eyes searching Bolivar's reaction before concluding. "Then here I am now, a citizen of this fine city, protected by fine men as yourself. But tell me, Bolivar. Do you still say we are kindred spirits? Some how I think you've not been molded by such an ugly past as I have. "

A slight life story to accompany their conversation left Bolivar with little to say. The mixed blood made no comment for a good portion while Shiress weaved her tale. The waitress he realized has done this conversation a few times already in her life. Whether he should feel sorry or honored that she would share such a story remained to be seen however.

"That is quite a strange concept you have explained to me."

Slavery was not too common in the Kalea region. Of course he heard of the occasional disappearance but the mixed blood would never attribute the cause or motiff simply wanting free labor. Bolivar squeezed lightly on Shiress's hand finding himself trying to understand her pain to no avail. However...

"Perhaps I was too quick to say something so familiar. You would be right thinking that indeed."

Closing his eyes slightly Bolivar gave a noncommittal look at Shiress before finding himself looking away. Letting the silence sit for a time Bolivar wondered how exactly they would move on with their conversation. The subject was in itself quite tricky to deal with.

"I only had to deal with constant harassment growing up. Mere feelings of constant discrimination while trying to prove myself time and time again to no avail. A long process instead of a short stint. Makes one quite the odd isurian. Though I would not call myself a full Isurian yet."

Giving a slight pause to take a bite out of his meal Bolivar felt once again out of place. Frustrating. If he did not belong with the Isur in Sultros then he felt like fleeing Syliras in high pressure social situations as these.

"What do I know about being the same Shiress? I do tend to ramble when I'm nervous. Or perhaps excited. Perhaps I am wrong but was it so wrong to find a connection between the two of us?"

Tilting his head up Bolivar gave a concerned look as he tried to find the courage to continue talking. The squire's way with his emotions was not as defined nor well adjusted as normal citizens.

"Don't get me wrong. I appreciate every tic that I spend talking to you finally. If you have anything you would like me to know please share. You won't have to worry about those bad men anymore Shiress. On my name I Bolivar Dynamicgear Coglias will always be there to call on when you are in need. ...After I clean up that mess Kisetukai made with that magic."

Shiress stared down to the hand that held hers. Her story, she knew, was a hard one for others to contain their reactions and show, just as Bolivar, the obvious signs of a struggle to understand or relate.

The story of her past was one the girl had not shared with many and to her knowledge, there was very few who knew the complete story. The squire, that brought her into the city, the training Myrian that assisted the doctor and even the doctor himself knew very little of the girl, though, the doctor may know more if given the mind to ponder over the many scars that riddled her body, but it would only be a guess and he would never have the mind to do so anyway. Hadyn Skellig, her only true friend, knew most and even then, she knew only a portion. Then there was Kise and now Bolivar.

As Bolivar's attention fell back to his meal, Shiress shifted herself and scooted her chair forward, resting her folded arms on the table as she began to speak."Bolivar, I didn't tell you all that for you to have to worry or come up with the words to say. There are no words anyway. It just is, ya know? She smiled, placing her hand against Bolivars. "I'll be right back." She lifted herself from her chair, glided across the tavern floor and disappeared into kitchen.

The barmaid reappeared, a chime later, holding a plate bearing a healthy portion of cake smothered in glistening honey and roasted almonds. She placed the cake to the front of her companion with a proud smile. "For you." Shiress said, taking her seat closer to the squire. "For you and the gentle kindness you have shown me. This is a treat indeed, given to me by a patron whose wife is known for her lavish desserts. I offer you this with a stipulation." The girl tilted her head with an arched brow. "No more talk of myself or Kisetukai. You are a kind and caring man." The girl leaned in, gently placing her hand against his chin and turning his face to look at her. "Your courage and generosity are set aside from most, Bolivar Dynamicgear Coglias." Shiress pressed her lips against the corner of Bolivars, giving the squire a soft kiss before wrapping her arms tightly around his shoulders. "Thank you, Bolivar." She whispered.

It was quite sweet. The cake and the gesture both but there was obviously a clear winner between the two. Curiously taking a portion of the cake and bringing up to his mouth the slight crunch of the nuts was a welcome change of texture from a desert. Then the squire felt something more as Shiress's lips met with his own.

A low cry of surprise escaped Bolivar's lips as he looked back on Shiress. Why was she thanking him? Was he really that far ahead from those that roamed Syliras? Apparently so. Shiress certainly thought so and the squire would be a damned fool to say otherwise.

"I don't..."

Finding himself embraced lightly Bolivar was much too frazzled to do much of anything except what came to mind. Bringing his arms up he returned hug with an overcome with a sense of bliss. Bolivar rested his head upon hers for a time before feeling slightly out of place from the sudden affection. Breaking off the tender hug Bolivar withdrew slightly keeping hold of her hands.

"I meant. Your... your quite welcome."

Interlocking one of Shiress's hands with his own Bolivar gave a measured look at the sight before looking back at the waitress. Granted Bolivar wanted to know everything there was to know about his transitioning infatuation but now would not be the time. When she was ready she would tell him and he would be there to listen. Which left talking about himself? That was never his strong suit.

"Such sweet tender treats indeed you have given me. I'm not sure if I earned such gifts."

The slight banter was accompanied by a deadpan face as Bolivar merely enjoyed having Shiress's hand upon his own.

"Rather I should worry about other things and possible issues that may arise. Yet... I find myself drawn to these certain string of events before me and the like."

Bolivar's mind went to the outside of the Tavern where both squires had made a mess of the streets. Half-concerned about his vows to maintain a sense of decorum and the other half worried of possibly stifling his chances of persuading Shiress to consider him more then a favored patron.

The squires eyes lingered on the door for a tic before scanning the room for any off looks given to him. However it seemed that only Shiress was the one he truly noticed. Before him was something that seemed more important then the mess he made.

"Ahh... I certainly don't hope that was the first and last time we do that."

Leaning forward slightly Bolivar closed his eyes to return Shiress's feelings twofold. It certainly felt amazing to have one reciprocate own emotions back why ever stop? Of course though there would come a time to talk about possible issues that may arise.

"It seems like I am correct. The second time is always better."

A knowing look followed by a slight grin Bolivar shrugged knowing he would have to explain later.

"Care for a walk outside the tavern? I feel we still have much to discuss."

ooc :
Sorry I took a bit Shiress! I know there was no warning and that wasn't very nice of me. I'll be sure to say so next time. Would you like to end it here? You post and turn it in? I'm thinking of leaving a cliff hanger so we can finally resolve your issues with Kisetukai and be in the know of my magical tendencies in the next thread.

There was something about this squire that had Shiress completely consumed and charmed. The way he spoke, the way he moved, even the way he looked at her was overwhelming. He was definitely more than a heroic squire rushing in to save a damsel in distress. Of course, there was no damsel in distress this time and he himself was brought in by the one who decided to attack her with a war of words, but still, this man stood up for her when he didn't have to. In the end, Bolivar proved way to easy to talk to and Shiress was left wondering why in the name of Gods did she blab off about her past. Having absolutely no knowledge of magic, she couldnt help but wonder if magic had anything to do with the way this complete and total stranger made her feel. Or maybe she's way too nice and way too trusting and blew her thank you's way out of proportion.

Sitting back a bit, Shiress brushed back stray hair from her face as her expression hardened. "Bolivar, listen. Forget about Kisetukai wont you? He's full of trouble and contagious evil." Leaning forward again, her fingers tightened around Bolivar's. "Be done with it..." Her voice trailed off as she caught the squires gaze once more and she smiled softly. "Let it go, okay?

Then he kissed her.

As his lips met with hers again her eyes widened with surprise before gently closing as she began to return the kiss herself, but Bolivar retreated with a grin, leaving Shiress speechless and a bit breathless. She gave the squire a nodded answer to his invitation. "I'd like that." She said with a smile.
