[Sei Tendo]

Sei watched Roderick wobble a bit, and turned a quater of a circle, dodging his attacks. Roderick jumped back, and a grin spread across Sei's face. He walked steadily toward him, and lashed out completely. He focused on Rodericks chest, and punched him repeatedly. He put force into his fist, and kept hammering away at his chest and stomach. He wanted Roderick to feel it, but not so much as to kill him. He continued to clobber his stomach, and hopped back after at least a minute of punches. He was now a few feet away from Roderick and he was ready for round two. "Had enough yet?" He asked hardily.

The clobbering Roderick took from Sei turned his legs to jelly and his guts to water. Hating himself for it, the hunter's legs buckled under him and he collapsed to the ground, wheezing and coughing. The Kelvic didn't know his own strength. "Had enough yet?" Every nerve in his body was burning. Hunched over and resisting the urge to vomit all over the ground, he swallowed heavily and took deep breaths to force air back into his lungs. He should have given in there - called an end to this one-sided 'fight' of theirs. Sei would hold that to him for days after, though, so Roderick found himself slowly, unsteadily, getting back to his feet - knees shaking, chest searing and throbbing, forcing himself to face the Kelvic. "You...can be...such a...bastard..." the words didn't stop the pain, but at the least made him feel better. Unable to stand straight for the pain in his chest, the hunter felt more bile and vomit rising in his throat. Swallowing it down, he forced himself to rise to his full height and face Sei, "I'll beat you...someday," a cough, "not today, though. I'll get there eventually." Gods it all hurt. There was no time for rest, though. Forcing his back to straightened so he was standing properly, he felt the aching dulling down somewhat, though it still remained, and would for some time after all of this. Bringing his fists up to face height, Roderick dug the ends of his fingers into his palms with such force he would have drawn blood if not for the gloves he wore. Roderick glanced about at the other fighters, watching them as they sparred with all manner of weapons; swords, axes, spears and maces - all were on display in the pit. The Kelvic's bare fists had proven just as painful as the weapons those other fighters were carrying. Perhaps it was time he took up some less painful form of training. If he could figure out a few moves to use, he could hold his own against the Kelvic more ably.

Sei backed away, and a look of concern spread his features. He walked to a weapon both and put up his hands signaling Roderick to wait. He took a small shield and shortsword from the rack, a pair similar to his own, and handed them to Roderick. He then went to his own equipment and put his arm through a small steel shield, and unsheathed a shortsword. He gave Roderick an apologetic look and spoke apologetically. "Sorry. I.. Didn't mean to go to far." He said. "Don't worry, I've never used these before either, so I guess we'll learn together." He said with a smile. He held the short sword firmly yet loosely, and tightened the grip on his shield through the gripper. He gave Roderick a nod. "Ready when you are." He said. OOCPlooot Twissssst! It was the only thing I could come up with, but at least it gives us both some skills.

The look the Kelvic gave him was full of worry. Sei backed away and looked at the hunter for a moment, then gestured for him to wait and walked over to a weapon rack and collected a little shield and a shortsword from it, then walked over to Roderick and handed them over. Taking them in hand he felt their weight in his grip; he'd used a sword before, though it'd been quite some time ago. He'd most likely forgotten how to use the thing properly. Arming himself similarly, the Kelvic stood opposite the hunter, "Sorry. I... didn't mean to go too far," either way, he had, and for that Roderick couldn't help but feel sour inside, "Don't worry, I've never used these before either, so I guess we'll learn together." Sei smiled and adjusted his grip on his armaments. He nodded. Shifting his grip again, the Zeltivan moved forward and made a light strike towards Sei, getting a feel for how the sword felt when he was swinging it. Keeping his arm up to block any strikes from the Kelvic, he backed away and paced left, then moved in for a light stab with his weapon - most like it would bounce off Sei's shield. The fight would be awkward - but at least he wouldn't be beaten to a pulp. Striking again with his weapon, he hoped he could knocked Sei's shield away so he could get in another attack. Their shields seemed too small to stop any kind of attack - but then they were light enough that they could be moved quickly if they needed to block a sword strike. If they had been out in the Bronze Wood he could have pressed Sei onto rougher ground so he would lose his footing - but the ground here was even and flat; there was no use complaining about it. The pain in his chest lessened, but he still felt the throbbing caused by the kelvic's punches; he'd have a few bruises tomorrow - maybe a split lip. All of the wounds would heal, but that didn't improve anything. Backing away, the Zeltivan simply hoped he could walk away from this match without being beaten into the dirt. OOCI didn't see that coming. Nice one

Sei gripped the sword firmly, and used it to shield himself from the first attack. The sword was lighter than his longsword, and didn't require two hands to weild. The shield he had was a steel one, but Rodericks material was all practice core, and his were real. He turned twenty-five percent of a circle, and hid behind his shield to block the last attack. Roderick hopped back, and Sei could feel the awkward tension between him and the sword. He swung it around, testing the weight and charged Roderick. He lifted the sword upwards, and let gravity pull it back down with his force added. Roderick would most likely use his shield, so if Rod moved the shield to block, he would force his sheild into rods stomach lightly. He then took a step back, charged, and tried to bring the sword down without losing his balance. He managed to bring it down, but his moves were clumsy, and his stomach was exposed. OOCGlad you approve!

Sei shielded himself from the first strike, he turned in a quarter circle and hid behind the wall of steel after the hunter's second strike came towards him. The Kelvic tested the weight of his weapon and then charged forward. Raising the sword above his head, Sei allowed the downward momentum to add force to the blow. Bringing his shield up over his head, Roderick stopped the blow, feeling the shudder of the metal over his head. Seeing the Kelvic's shield heading for his gut, Roderick quickly moved his word forward, catching hold of the rim of the shield with the crossguard. Feeling metal clash against his fingers, he quickly moved backwards with a grunt of pain, shifting his hold on the blade. The Kelvic was not done though, charging forward and making to bring his sword down on the hunter. The Zeltivan stepped aside in time to avoid being struck, slamming his shield towards Sei's exposed midriff. The moved was hardly professional or refined; there was no hint of a stance or any kind of finesse to the movements. If Sei had hit him then and there, he would have lost his footing and fallen to the ground. Knowing how unbalanced he was, Roderick quickly backed away, behind the Kelvic, aiming the flat of his blade against his back.

Sei took a step back, avoiding being hit by Rods shield, and swung his sword at Rods left side. But instead of continuing, he struggled to lift the sword skyward and brought it down towards Rodericks head, which would force him to use his sword to block. He then shot his knee towards Rods groin, and stepped back. His brawling skills were fine, but he had only tried using a sword today. And the same could be said about his shield skills. But he charged anyway, and made a wids slash at Rodericks belly. Unfortunately, his timing was off, and he only managed to slice six inches away from Roderick. He jumped back, and rolled head first toward Roderick, popping up, and jabbing his shortsword upward. He was between Rod and rods' shield, and if his attack hit, it would knock Rods' sword from his hands. "YAAAH!!" He exclaimed.

Sei moved backwards, avoiding all the attacks sent towards him, then swinging his sword towards the hunter left side; Roderick lifted the shield and felt it clang and shudder on his arm as the blade bounced off its surface. The Kelvic brought his sword down from above, forcing the hunter to block with his own. As their swords clashed his arm shook, spasms shooting through the muscles. It held fast, though that didn't help him when Sei made to knee him in the groin. Shifting his shield down the way and stepping back, the Kelvic's knee clipped the shield, making it wobble viciously in his grip. Adjusting his hold on it, the Zeltivan watched his opponent charge at him, making a wide slash at him. Making to guard himself with his shield, he found his efforts were not needed; the blow never landed - swiping the air several inches away from him. Moving back, Sei suddenly rolled across the ground and straightened up right in front of Roderick, jabbing upward with his blade. His shield rendered useless by the distance, the hunter moved his blade so it caught the Kelvic's; the move nearly knocked the weapon from his grasp, but he kept his grip, though only just. Still rising from the ground, the Kelvic's face was on a level with Roderick's leg. "YAAAH!!" Sei shouted as he went. Without any kind of forethought, Roderick's leg shot out towards his face. OOCOmg, Rod, why u no fight fair?

Sei held his face. And suddenly his face overflowed rage. He jumped back, and his eyes boiled with rage. "Yoh Fetchin bahsterd!" He said holding his face. He charged Roderick, and made a diagonal slash at his shoulders. He was quick, so Rod probably wouldn't be able to dodge, and it would soon slice a centimeter cut across his shoulder. He clashed his sword agaist Rods' and forced him backwards. "You kicked me in the face when we met, and now this?! Payback time!!" He hissed. He brought the blade flat down to Rods' head. "HAAAA!!" If it hit, Rod would fall, and he would step on his chest. He would press agaist his chest, and glare at him with rage. He took his sword and.. *SHING!* Stabbed it into the dirt inches away from Rodericks face. "You just have to piss me off don't you?" He growled. He removed his foot, and stood his ground. "Get up. Round two." He hissed.

"Yoh fetchin bahsterd!" the way Sei spoke while holding his face would have made him laugh, if not for the fury that covered the Kelvic's face. Charging at him, Roderick stopped a vicious slash to his shoulders with his shield, but couldn't stop it from being slammed off to the side. Stumbling back from the force of the blow, Roderick just barely managed to stop another strike from the Kelvic's sword with his own, the strength behind it forcing him back even further. Sei's shouting grew louder and more furious. Suddenly his head was ringing, the feeling of metal smacking against his head coming and going within the space of seconds. Off balance and with his vision blurred, he stumbled back and fell, catching himself at the last moment and struggling up so he was kneeling. The point of Sei's sword appeared before his face, the metal shining and glinting in the light. "You just have to piss me off don't you?" going cross eyed very quickly, Roderick was grateful when the Kelvic withdrew, though his voice still told of his anger, "Get up. Round two." Rising to his feet proved a painful action for the wounded hunter. Everything was blurred and hazy, leaving him off balance and shaky. Closing his eyes, Roderick lowered his head and began breathing slowly, in and out. Thinking of the sound of waves calmed his mind, and when he opened his eyes the world had stilled. Eyes focusing in on the Kelvic, the Zeltivan rose to his feet and took his weapons in hand again. "Now you know how it feels."
