Date of Birth: Sunberth

Race: Half-Blood (Dhani/Human)
Gender: Female

City: Sunberth
Profession: Slave

Fluent: Common
Basic: -

Height: 5'8"
Weight: 132lbs

Appearance
Pale and smooth skin, Ayviss' face is feminine and would appear delicate and graceful, if not for the constant harsh expression she wears. Her eyes, a mix of light blue and green, are deep and intense, and are adorned by thick and long eyelashes, that give her an even more feminine complexion. When trying to hide her emotions, Ayviss' eyes become dull and almost lifeless, giving her a menacing appearance. Otherwise, her eyes spark with intense emotion, and it's almost impossible to tell exactly what she is feeling. Her nose is slightly pointy and thin, and her mouth is full and red.

Her face is adorned with thick dark hair, falling in soft waves just past her shoulder blades. It's brown, but so dark that if not lightened by direct and strong light, it can be easily mistaken for black.

Tall and lean, Ayviss' smooth movements are of an almost feline grace. The way she walks, elegant, confident and secure of her every move, gives her a predatory air, not really intimidating by itself, but also not welcoming. Her whole posture is of someone who holds power (although that's not always true), and she is not someone to be messed with.

With no birthmarks except for some light freckles that adorn her cheeks and back, Ayviss' skin would be completely smooth if not for the many thin scars on its surface. Most of them are located on her back, result of years of whipping for punishment, thin white lines that are almost invisible if to the eyes if not watched closely.

Clothes
When she can choose, her clothes are practical and elegant, complimenting her frame well, while also hiding her more evident scars. To her, utility comes always first, but she will also try to find clothes that can be both useful and beautiful. No matter the occasion, however, she will always keep her gnosis marks hidden, as they are a secret that she only revels if it gives her an advantage in the situation.

While she prefers elegant outfits, she has nothing against wearing more plain, and even ragged, clothes, if the situation demands it of her.

Marks and Scars
Her most prominent marks are:
  • Night Stalking Gnosis: On her back, in the middle of her shoulder blades, there is a beautiful and intrincate black triangle, a single mark from Akajia.

Her most prominent scars are:
  • Belly Scar: A thick scar, not pleasant to look at, runs from just below her belly buttom to her left rib cage.
  • Leg Scar: A thin, but clearly visible, scar on her right leg, from the top of her tight to her ankle.
Born as a slave of a ruthless owner, Ayviss learned early not to trust anyone. For her, she is alone in the world, and knows that, like she can't trust anyone, no one can trust her. Proud, determined and faithful only to herself, Ayviss can be extremelly manipulative, and even uncaring and cruel. Her words can sound loving and caring, when in truth she is only trying to achieve something that will benefit her. However, she is not cruel for the sake of being cruel - every action she takes has a purpose, and although this purpose normally only benefits her, it's still not cruelty without a reason. Rarely revengeful, only if the person has made her suffer greatly, her motives are her search for power and knowledge.

With her own code of conduct, Ayviss does not think what she does is wrong. On the contrary - she believes everyone has a right to fight for their dreams, and to do whatever it takes to achieve what they want. Only if the person is too weak, will they simply try to leave according to what others think of them. Strength, to her, is fight against anything one doesn't like, and change it. And if she takes advantage of someone that has taken advantage of her, it only means she is the stronger one. And if she isn't, then she will do everything to become.

An avid learner, curious and careful planner, every bit of knowledge is something she loves with all her being. Be them secrets, public knowledge, books, tales... Everything. Power, on the other hand, she does not pursue so actively. To her, the finest kind of power is the one that would allow someone to do as they pleased. So, she tries to improve her skills, although this does not mean she is always trying to subjugate someone. For her, the feeling, the knowledge that she could if she wanted to, is what she loves.

Despite everything that would make her seem evil and egoistical to many, Ayviss does only what she thinks is right, and sometimes this can be true selfless acts. Those are extremely rare, though, and more often than not, her kind actions are just another way to achieve some advantage for herself.

Ayviss can be manipulative and do anything to achieve her goals, but if she is not following said goals, or if the person doesn't have anything to do with them, Ayviss can be formal and even amiable, not trusting, but managing to talk and interact without any kind of manipulation. And, more importantly, she does form bonds. There are those that are very fragile, based on mutual interest, in which she will help the person as long as the other help her too, and there are those that are stronger, based on mutual respect. Once Ayviss respect someone, she can go to some lengths as not to hurt them, but ultimately she will only do so while it does not hinder her own goals, and will still not do favors for free.

History

Postby Ayviss on September 29th, 2014, 3:27 am

Childhood
While Dhani do not normally breed with other races, Alvoss was not a normal individual. In fact, his family argued that he was defective. The Constrictor Dhani left his nest early in life, and during his travels he met Venna, an young woman who, just like the Dhani, wished to travel and see the world. The two set off as companions and, after some years together, Venna became pregnant. Shortly after, Venna was captured as a slave, and sold to a master in Sunberth.

Named after her father, Ayviss was born in slavery, her mother telling her little about her father and the travels they did together. Alvoss would come up frequently in Venna's speech, but the woman refused to give any meaningful information about him. Ayviss never understood why. She didn't know why her father left her mother, she didn't know why her mother was enslaved, and she didn't know anything about Alvoss, except for his race and name. There was a time when that withhold information made the child extremely curious, but she never hated or resented her father for not being there. Venna would speak only with love of him, and Ayviss supposed that, whatever had happened, it hadn't been Alvoss' fault.

Despite the efforts Venna made to take Ayviss' mind far away from Sunberth, and to try to help her the best she could, life as a slave child was hard, and Ayviss learned early on that she was trapped by the will of her owner. Despite her efforts to please their owner, so he wouldn't take his frustration out on her and her mother, he still enjoyed ensuing tasks the child could not complete and punishing her afterwards.

Adolescence
Later, Ayviss became more of a personal slave, and the difficult tasks would fall on her mother's shoulder. The teen tried to help when she could, but mostly, she was left walking besides their master everywhere, doing anything he wished her to - to fulfill his needs, whatever they might be. The only reason the woman would take it was her mother, who had told her they would pay their debt, and walk free soon enough.

However, when Venna confronted their master about it, all the answer they got was that they were slaves, and no matter how hard they worked, they would never be free. Venna then threw away all caution, and tried to run, taking her daughter with her. However, the only thing the women achieved were to reach as far as the border of Sunberth, before being captured by a man in search of a reward. He was rewarded with death, and Venna and Ayviss were punished more severely than ever.

Venna couldn't take it, and passed away after a few days, leaving Ayviss behind. The woman changed on that day. She lost all trust, all will to be free, everything. To her, the world had ended on that day. After Venna's death, their master seemed to ask even more of Ayviss, and, for a while, she allowed him to do as he pleased, sure that life would never be worth living.

Adulthood
When the woman was twenty years old, her master acquired another permanent slave - a Kelvic girl named Dia. The girl was used as Ayviss had been when she was younger, and, over the course of two years, the two bonded much like daughter and mother. Ayviss protected Dia much like Venna had done, and she would try to make the girl's life bearable, taking fault for things Dia had done wrong, doing chores for her, and helping her as much as she could. Dia's happiness little by little influenced her, and Ayviss began to enjoy life once more, and dream of the day she could walk free, together with Dia. She didn't want to escape, however, as she was afraid the last time would repeat itself. She couldn't afford to lose Dia, and she knew Dia couldn't afford to lose her.

So she worked hard to win the trust of her master, maybe implore to him to let them both go, when he liked her enough for it. She was pleasant and amiable, and she did everything that was asked of her.

One day, however, shortly after Ayviss turned twenty two, Dia fell sick. The woman tried to tend to her when she could, but her master seemed to do everything in his power to make the two stay apart. When Dia's condition worsened, and she messed up a dinner she was supposed to make for a guest, their master seemed to have had enough, and killed the Kelvic in rage. Ayviss watched, unable to do anything to stop him, and her heart darkened once again. But now, she wasn't apathetic anymore. She was full of desire of vengeance, to make her owner suffer like she had made her mother and Dia suffer.

It was only two days later that she received the visit of the Goddess Akajia, who marked her with her gnosis. After that, all the confidence that she was strong enough to keep going returned to Ayviss.

And so, she started to plan her revenge.

514
Fall
All of this season was spent working towards her revenge. Ayviss planned how she would get revenge on him, deciding that she would keep trying to win his trust, and eventually his affection, and betray him, in the worst way she could imagine, so he would feel the pain he made her feel when he killed her mother and Dia. Each time she could, she would do some action that would make him trust her a little more. Little by little, Ayviss managed to win her owner's trust.
