Well, at least the man seems to know what he's talking about, Kaden thought to himself as they stopped for a short break. He listened intently to what Brandon had to say about running and about the resistance training. He seemed to have a bit of a philosophical view on things, but that wasn't a problem. It helped to convince Kaden that this man had a decent head on his shoulders and would probably take his job seriously. Instead of showing off to the Valintar with a bunch of flashy moves, Brandon was giving Kaden a real beginners lesson. If the Valintar were a less reasonable man he might have been angry that he wasn't being taught what he'd asked for, but Kaden understood, and appreciated the honesty in the lesson itself.
"It sounds like you have a solid plan in place already. That's good."
The Valintar didn't comment again until after they were done running. He did his best to keep up with more in shape stranger, trying to regulate his breathing as Brandon was, though he had no idea that was what Brandon was doing. Despite the exercise being harder, Kaden found it easier now that his body had woken to the challenge. It wasn't as if he was entirely out of shape, after all, and while Brandon could have run circles around him if he wanted, Kaden managed the warmup better than he thought he would have. When they were done Kaden was panting and sweating, but he was still personally pleased with his performance.
"I think I've had enough working out for the moment. You seem to have a good head on your shoulders, and you have plan. I think you will do well teaching the Yasi... although, I suppose I should see you fight, shouldn't I? Just to know you can? If you're up for a spar, how about with one of those two?"
The Valintar pointed at the two warriors from before, and they both started in surprise. One shook his head but the other stepped forward, nodding respectfully to Kaden and brandishing his wooden talon sword eagerly.
"You can spar with Jerhyn. He's decent with a sword, from what I've heard. Can you fight against an armed opponent?"
OOCJerhyn's talon sword skill is 45, unarmed 15. You have full control over him, so have fun with your post. After that, I'll probably have one final post to close the thread.
