Siege on the Gated Community!

Postby Sevris on June 2nd, 2016, 11:37 pm

10th Day of Summer 515 A.V

Sevris moved his hair from in front of his eyes as he tried to focus on the words coming from the one leading this meeting. Brown muffled hair with one braided thread on the left side for some reason. An experienced weathered face beaten with age, elements and foes. His name was Captain Vergil Iman. He was the one appointed for the joint operation between a few of reinforcements lead by Marshall Sevris Lazarin from the Ebonstryfe and the Dragoon's armies more ruthless officers. Captain Iman was supposed to be the man behind the mask.

Working diligently to get the Gated Community back from the usurpers. It was there intel that allowed them find the name to the group that ran them out. The Vulkari they went by. Sun's Birth couldn't figure out who was supplying them with men and arms but that's why Sevris had come as well.

Offering services using the Black Sun's immense network of spies, they've already infiltrated another home grown terrorist group called the Rising Dawn. It wouldn't be to far-fetched to suspect the two rebel bands were trading info and supplies with one another. It would make sense since operations can't be used outside the cities. No concrete evidence but suspicions were high enough for the Marshall Sevris to offer services in ridding Sunberth of the Vulkari.

Iman cleared his throat as he continued, "Their strength for no better reason continues to grow. Crossbowman lines the entire community and keeps most armies at bay and there is only one way in and we don't want to destroy the walls. Minimal damage at the most."

Sevris one of the other leaders there, "That's why my men will be there for reinforcements. It looks like this is gonna have to be a brawl."

"It looks like we have no other choice. We have been contemplating this for far to long. We will retake our home and show the rest of these petty gangs who they should fear and who really runs Sunberth. Also the alliance with Ebonstryfe shall strengthen the hold on the city."

Sevris nodded. He eventually would curse everyone of importance in the entire city in his plan to conquer Sunberth using the Sun's Birth. The Vulkari however were a problem much important than the Daggerhands and Night's Eyes..

Siege on the Gated Community!

Postby Sevris on June 12th, 2016, 11:10 pm

33rd Day of Summer 516 A.V

Sevris eyed the scene on top of his Bloodbane. He was to command the troops he brought to Sunberth. There would only be 10 Soldiers and a Commander riding into battle with him. After all they were only reinforcements. A Marshall was more than enough. His Commander that was chosen was Miriam. He had taken a liking to her greatly. He wanted to see how she did leading and fighting on the battlefield.

The Lazarin could see his small troops along a large force of maybe 60 men fron Sun's Birth. Some were armored and some had half armor on. But they were all at least armed. Captain Iman rode by himself in front of the rest of the troops. With anarchy and chaos ruling the streets right now Sevris was surprised that they amassed this amount of troops. They had lost quite a few.

The Lazarin was garbed in Red armor and a golden mouth mask covered his face as usual. A giant golden double-bladed sword tied to his back and a magecrafted sword on his hip. Armed to the teeth he was ready to spill blood and so were his men...and woman.

Miriam rode her own horse towards and waited next to him. "Are we waiting for the signal?" She asked making conversation but he could see her eyes were really trained on him.

"Aye the signal shall be soon. Think you can wait? "
said the Lazarin.

"I'll wait if you tell me too," She answered with a smile.

"Good. I'll keep that in mind," he also said with a smile.

There was small movement in the corner of his eyes and he could see Captain raise his hand. "Forward!"

The troops began marching in formation, looking eerily similar to the Syliras formation. Rumors must be true that some of the Sun's Birth members were Knights prior.

"That's us. Prepare for battle. We march on the Gated Community." There was a resounding roar from his troops even though there was only 10 of them.

Siege on the Gated Community!

Postby Chase Hunter on June 15th, 2016, 2:10 am

Chase looked on from the front lines. He was assigned there by someone as a front runner. Someone to get the crossbowman to shoot at besides the guys behind him. He thought that was probably due to the fact that he wore no armor as well. He preferred it that way. As a Zith, he could not really handle heavier armor. It just slowed him down, and he wasn’t strong enough to take much of a hit anyway. He knew that his best bet to “serve” the Sun’s Birth at this point was to hunt. Stalking wasn’t much of a plan, but at least there would be plenty of distractions around him. So he waited.

There was word that others would be joining our little band. Chase didn’t listen too much of it. His only point here was to support the people who should ultimately give him information in his true hunt. His history, his life.

At the moment though, his hunt was these people. These people on the walls. Chase did have his gauntlets, but also his short sword that he’d been still training at the Proving Grounds with. He turned his head to look at the Captain ahead of him, who suddenly waved his arm forward to start the march. Chase moved into a sprint for the gates. He kept his eyes on the men at the gate, waiting for the bolts to start flying.

Siege on the Gated Community!

Postby Sevris on June 17th, 2016, 8:05 pm

Seeing so many men marching on the ground was the talk of the town as they saw Dragoons accompanied by the Ebonstryfe. The Dragoons really wore no banners as they were actually a band of misfits and discarded Knights. However the Ebonstryfe were draped in in their insignia's. On Sevris chest the Ebonstryfe symbol shined bright in gold, it wasn't hard to tell who they were.

Citizens actually lined up to see what all the commotion was about but most could see their destination was the Gated Community. Sun's Birth defeat and being driven out severely hurt their reputation. Also the kidnapping of the leaders was unforeseen and tragic, but also another crippling blow.

Sevris had heard about it from them and from word of mouth. This crusade against the ones who made them flee would be a start to redemption. Sevris didn't care. He just wanted to as much as distress as possible. This was the best way to do so.

Sevris rode on horseback with Miriam and Darren riding beside him. His most trusted advisers, as they were with him when he was sent to kill his cousin Marshall Ansel.

They were beside the Dragoons when they reached their destination. The Gated Community was very suprising to Sevris. Personally Sevris did not like the city, it was ages behind the beauty of Ravok but the Gated Community looked far above the pay grade for the rest of the city.

This wasn't his rodeo, so he awaited for the Captains word.

Siege on the Gated Community!

Postby August Shensly on June 17th, 2016, 9:58 pm

The last time August was in a battle like this it was between two rival gangs, unarmored soldiers of their brother's keep, wild and untrained, used to brawling more than outright warfare. They wouldn't stand a chance against the ex knights he observed about the ranks of the men. Armored, trained, and with large weapons they waited patiently for the word to commence the reclamation of the Gated Community.

August was there because the hidden wanted a presence on the battlefield, as was customary for any large-scale war resulting in political favor and ultimately power. August could have been a spy, playing the entire board posing as a freelance mercenary dealing in espionage and information trafficker, but the Night Eyes must have thought he was more of a physical type of combatant rather than in intelligent one, which bruised his ego for a while until he realized he would be able to kill under orders or not. August contemplated becoming independent of any control, and it bemused him to have such freedom with no attachments, nobody to tell him what to do, but he enjoyed the money the Night Eyes were offering, the assignments were exciting, he vouched for their methods and goals, and, of course, rising through the ranks would give him a perspective of the shadowy group enough to get a blade around the throat of those who had killed his parents.

He kept his assassin's blades hidden while the commanders he was pretending to follow rode back and forth on horseback, the blades ready to sink into the flesh of some unarmored, untrained tavern brawler who calls himself a gangmember. He kept his breath low and under control, slipping into a state that of a serial killer, ready to rend and break and extinguish life.

The Night Eyes had told him through a note to infiltrate the ranks of the Sun's Berth, and to bring back any morsels of information gleaned through the battle, both on the sides of the Sun's berth and the Rising Dawn and the Vulkari, favor and mizas the reward. He again couldn't understand why he wasn't chosen to play both sides, pretending to be a spy or double agent for each, them not knowing his loyalties lied with The Night Eyes in truth, but then again, if he had become an undercover agent he would not be able to openly violate the flesh of some lousy gangmembers holed up in a gated community. He smiled a devilish smile,
'I think they chose this job for me perfectly, someone else can go play secret agent, this is where I want to be.'

August was ready, his breathing slow, his body in tune, he was ready to kill, and so he waited for the Sun's Berth whose ranks he had infiltrated to give the word to begin.

Siege on the Gated Community!

Postby Chase Hunter on June 18th, 2016, 3:57 am

Chase stood in the front line of the troops as they pulled to the gated walls. The Sun’s Birth came up to the walls, the Captain giving a shout to attack.

Chase had already planned on it, considering the defenses had started to attack back. Chase wasn’t sure about this hunt, but his purpose here was to know who to work for. He needed someone who could get what he wanted. Considering the fact that the group he was with was a bunch of ragtag warriors, he wasn’t sure they had what he wanted. However, he glanced to the side at a group much smaller than their own, but much more regimented. A similar insignia on all of them, some golden thing. Chase turned his head back around as the Captain directed them to start the attack, hunting out the opposing gang and destroying them.

Chase was ordered to work with the first men and get over the walls. The ladders were being carried by the men in the third row, them expecting to lose some of the first row by the time they made it to the walls. The archers would be trouble enough for this attack, but the ladders would make scaling it quick. Chase was in the group of men who would scale first, and provide a battle head on the walls. It was to be quick, and efficient. Chase cocked his head as the Captain sentenced the attack order. He savored a deep breath before drawing his sword and waiting for the ladder to be laid.

Siege on the Gated Community!

Postby August Shensly on June 18th, 2016, 7:14 am

The minute August spotted the ladders he knew there had to be another way. Getting anywhere near those archers would spill blood, and the bulk of the Rising Dawn's forces seemed to be populating the top of the wall. They would be eager to plunge their swords into anyone funneled onto their walls from ladders; the attacking force needed that gate open as fast as possible.

'There must be another way...' he thought. 'Perhaps another entrance? A tunnel under the wall to the other side?' And then it came to him and he smiled, looking at the weather beaten wall. He quietly broke rank and slipped away, following the wall as it went. He was dressed in generally regular clothes, but with his leather armor underneath he might as well have been a soldier, but in this way the sparse groupings of guards on the wall just thought he was just another regular person. August cracked a smile; he was hiding in plain sight.

As he went he studied the wall. The weather had beaten it ragged, and the mortar between the large stones had degraded or fallen out in certain places.
'Perfect.' he thought.
He walked over to the wall and touched it, then turned to take a few steps about three yards away, and then sprinted at it, running up the wall and with his last step jumped and grabbed hold of a crack in the wall. He slowly and deliberately began climbing, each step thought out. Halfway up he grabbed at a crack and it fell apart in his hands, slipping slightly, finding himself with one hand on a crack and him dangling dangerously. He swung himself over to another crack and stabilized himself. He had just stared death in the face.
'Let's not do that again...'

He finally made it to the top of the wall, he peeked over the side and saw a very large group of Rising Dawn near the gate on the wall.
'Just like I suspected.'
Near August was a group of Rising Dawn to his left as he peered over at them. They were facing the other way but then one looked toward him and he ducked, waiting a few moments before peeking over the wall again, checking to see if the group of guards were looking; they weren't. August turned to his right and saw a an archer walking away from him toward a battlement.
'Good...' he thought.
He pulled himself up and sat concealed in one of the toothed openings in the wall. He grabbed his thin rope from off of his back and tied it around one of the teeth in the wall. Taking the rope, he pulled it through his belt and placed some of his leather armor in the palm of his hand, putting the rope onto it so it wouldn't burn him on the way down. He quickly checked again to see if the guards were looking, and they weren't, and quickly sprung up and ran across the width of the wall and jumped over, rappelling down to the base of the inside of the wall. At the bottom he saw a guard slightly to his left, and he smiled; the guard had no idea he was about to die. August flipped himself upside down, angling the rope on his belt so he could control it better, and slowly slunk down to the guard.
'Say goodnight.'
And with that he carefully grabbed the unaware guard by the mouth and buried his assassin's dagger into his throat from upside down. The man's muffled screams quickly came to an end as blood gushed from the stabbing wound on his neck, and the guard fell over completely limp. August flipped back over, letting go of the rope and falling a short distance until his feet finally touched ground, keeling down to absorb the fall. He looked up and around him; not a guard in sight.
'I'm in.' he thought, smiling.

Siege on the Gated Community!

Postby Sevris on June 21st, 2016, 11:33 pm

OOCWe'll say the forces inside are somehow linked to the vigilante forces in the city. However they will have ties with the Rising Dawn but aren't the main enemies here. Also the enemy leader his extremely strong so bear caution. http://www.mizahar.com/lore/Harrol/Kujol

The forces inside did not send a messenger outside to greet the forces of course. This was a land of anarchy and chaos. You just take what you want. I can get used to this type of order. The attack had begun, men scrambling to get over the walls. It was poorly managed and they would lose a great deal of men doing so. But they weren't Sevris's men so he could care less.

After a decent amount of Dragoons were using ladders to scale the building he was content it was time to bring in the heavy hitters. His Ebonstryfe warriors were fierce fighters of his own division that was with him when he was but a Paladin. Two Commanders leading their Companies. "Let us show the people of Sunberth how we do battle."

What could ten men (and woman) and a man in brilliant red armor do? The forces occupying the Gated Community would soon find out. Sevris hopped off his horse and the Stryfe followed him running to the walls. It was a high climb but not high enough to deter them away. He could see that the archers were still shooting down on them but most of them were now preoccupied by the Dragoon forces shooting and making their way to them, the physical fight wasn't for archers.

This allowed the small group of Stryfe fighters to scale the wall unscathed. Sevris was the first to peek over and saw that the Gated Community was indeed a ravishing place but had not been taken care of. But also a incredibly strong force was fighting and holding off an onslaught of Dragoon forces.

They bore an insignia unbeknownst to him, however through all of that it was something that sent a shiver of fear through Sevris's spine. Out of all places he thought he would never see this person again. An Akalak on Ebonstryfes most wanted list. They had killed his lover or master who had led the rebellion that was Rising Dawn.

This Akalak was the General of the Rising Dawn Kujol.

There was an instant surge of anger, fear, raging chaos inside of him. His Chaon burned on his arm as his rage was beside him. He had been beaten almost to death and left hanging on the edge of a fountain last time he tried to cross hands with him. Extremely skilled this Akalak was the only person who had bested Sevris without a seconds thought.

Even now he stood ready to annihilate these Dragoon forces. Thats why the Sun's Birth forces were pushed out. That's why the Black Sun could not find him. That's why there so many well supplied forces in Sunberth causing trouble. He was hiding in Sunberth, with the Rising Dawn at that! But the other soldiers bore different crests then the ones the Rising Dawn used. Something was still amiss here.

Sevris hopped on top of the archers stand and he was instantly greeted with a soldier who tried to stab him. With a quick notion he stepped aside and the blade flew past, he reached out and grabbed the mans wrist and used the motion to toss him over the wall head first into the ground below. A heard a roar as the Stryfe members saw their leader gain the first kill.

But Sevris did not care. He now only had one target. To defeat the Master General Kujol. He hurried down the stairs where the Dragoon forces were pushing the other soldiers back. Sevris pulled out his golden serrated Double-Bladed sword. He was quick to be noticed because his garb and weapon. The leader.

"Its the Stryfe!" One of enemy soldiers yelled.

This got the attention of Kujol. He looked up and his cold eyes found the chaotic ones of Sevris's. There were two guards next to him looking just as formidable. Sevris had killed two of them before. He must of replaced them with these lackeys. The Marshal thought.

Two more soldiers fought past and was heading up the stairs towards Sevris with a battlecry. The Lazarin still unhinged by all the fighting around him lifted his blade and in two quick strokes the soldiers died without touching his blades. He would kill this beast. Kujol would either die or be captured. Either way Sevris would have his revenge.

"Miriam and Darren," Sevris yelled. "To me!"

Siege on the Gated Community!

Postby Chase Hunter on June 23rd, 2016, 2:02 am

OOCYou say that like we would be stupid enough to charge him. Of course we are! :D

Chase went up as the third man over the wall. He would have gone first, but in the chaos, he had been pushed against the wall. Once he swung around the man on the right holding the ladder steady, he scampered up behind the second man. The first was down against the rampart, an arrow had been shot into him from close range. The second man had drawn his sword and forced the archers back, fighting off to the left part of the wall. Chase pulled over the ramparts, bringing his sword down on the archers on the right looming over the injured Dragoon. The archers ran off the wall away from Chase as he clobbered them as he could.

The archers ran off the wall and down into the grounds, where the new gang was assembling into forms. Chase crouched down and hissed in annoyance. He moved along the wall, slashing down the swordsman that he could as he went, working his way to the far end of the wall.

His arm started to get sore, and it was getting worse defending each incoming blow. He was not used to this as much. Sighing in frustration, he stabbed the next enemy, and left the sword in him. He then moved on, sliding to the right as a blade crashed down where he had been. He promptly shoved his gauntlet into the neck of the offending swordsman, his spikes sinking into his blood vessels.

Chase ducked to the side as the Dragoons promptly managed to assemble themselves over the walls, and moved out to attack the force within the community. Chase let them pass as he assessed the situation. The brightly colored uniformed people had gotten inside of the wall, though Chase hadn’t seen how. They seemed to charge directly for the largest, and bluest person they faced.

He watched briefly as they worked effortlessly and threw the humans around him down without even a hint of effort. The leader specifically was quite skilled. Though he may be human, though Chase couldn’t tell for sure, he was definitely a hunter. He went straight for the heart. Chase respected that, and went forward to join him, grinning as he retrieved his short sword and went on to join them, jumping down from the wall to land lightly on the ground.

Siege on the Gated Community!

Postby August Shensly on June 23rd, 2016, 3:58 pm

August heard a group of gangmembers making their way through the streets.
'Petch!' he thought. 'I need to get this body out of here.'
He grabbed the limp, lifeless body by the armpits and began dragging him toward an alley, his spear still clutched in his hand due to rigor mortis. He got there just as the group was turning the corner, hurriedly cleaning the man's neck and leather armor with the man's own undershirt and propped him up in the doorway of a house on the front steps to look like he was sleeping. He quickly checked the man for weapons and found none besides his spear, nothing. The group was just by August as he stood behind the wall between them, ready to kill, but then he had an idea. He turned the corner right as the group was right in front of him. They immediately turned with their spears in hand, ready to kill August on the spot.

"Kill him." the apparent leader said.
"What are you doing?" said August calmly.
"You're not with us, so you're obviously with them."
"You weren't told? I'm a mercenary, a military advisor, a gift from some people sympathetic to your cause."

The men stopped and eyed August for a second. They seemed to be buying it, but he had to make sure they trusted him.

"What have you been doing? The battle is that way." stated August.
"Umm, we were told to patrol over by the edge of the..."
"THE BATTLE IS THAT WAY!" August yelled. "And look over here!" he said bringing them to the rope hanging off the wall. "You were patrolling this area and you didn't catch the man who got over the wall? There's an assassin in your midst and you failed to catch him! I've been tracking him for the past hour and I haven't found the slippery bastard. Bring me to your leader Kujol, he needs to be wary of this development."

The group agreed, afraid that they might get reprimanded for not doing their job. August was internally laughing hysterically that they could be so gullible, but his face showed nothing of the sort, just the expression of a mercenary military advisor; proud and intelligent. Four blocks later and they could hear the sounds of battle emanating from the area close to the wall, until at last they could see it develop before their eyes. The Sun's Berth and the Ebonstryfe had made it over the wall, at least some of them had, and the battle was going as planned. The group of gangmembers formed a circle around August, escorting him to the far back of the battle, until he could finally see the huge Akalak Kujol in the near distance, he looked just like the description his handlers had given him. They finally made it and August shook Kujol's hand.

"Who are you?" he stated.
"I'm a mercenary military advisor, I'm a gift from the powers that be. They wanted a presence on the battlefield. Here I am."
"Ah, could I question about your employers?"
"No, you can't."
"Well then, the battle just took a turn for the worst, we have Sun's Berth and Ebonstryfe over the walls with feet on the ground. There are more outside and we've lost many men on the wall; their people will be free to climb over the walls on the ladders."
"I have a suggestion." said August, assassin's blades just three feet from the Akalak's heart...
"Yes?"
"Pull your men back, have them hide on the different streets coming off main street, then open the gate and ambush their main force when they come in. Then absorb the attack down the sidestreets in all directions; these streets are too cramped for the Sun's Berth and Ebonstryfe to bring their full forces to bear; their numbers will count for nothing."

August had actually given Kujol good advice, and August began wondering what side he was truly on, if any. August watched as his subterfuge took hold, Kujol sending ten of his best men to go open the gates and ordering a great majority of his forces to take up ambush positions on the side streets. August watched, without even needing to fight, and looked as after about five minutes the gates began to open. August smiled a wry smile.

'I might as well be ordering these men...'

He turned again to Kujol.
"I've also been tracking an assassin. He slipped over the walls with a rope, he probably climbed the wall and then rappelled down the other side. The assassin is somewhere in the Gated Community. You need to be wary of this."

"That I shall" said the large Akalak, distracted by ordering his men to where they needed to be for the ambush.

August wanted to laugh so hard he'd cry, but stayed in character, still pretending to be a military advisor.
