I would have Nemori, but I'm already stuck in the Hall of Aural Creation.

A Long Overdue Announcement:

No one overreact. It's not that kind of announcement. First, I would like to apologize for my lack of communication recently. While life does happen to all of us (it's a chronic condition), I should have taken a few moments to address these things sooner.

For the past seven weeks, my job has been rough. Three men operate our machine and one has been gone for the aforementioned time frame. While not a huge deal, the extended lapse of being short 33% of our crew eventually caused a backlog of work which manifested in the last three weeks being made up of ten and twelve hour days. I am normally a man who considers himself an overcomer and had I only had to deal with some OT I might not be so far behind in my duties and my writing. Our third man came back to work today and we're caught back up: one hurdle cleared

My father has been laid up for several months with a herniated disc. He had surgery today which was reported as successful so the burden of managing his farm can go back to being his hobby and not mine. Pops is back on his feet: second hurdle cleared.

This last one still has me reeling but I want to share it could explain any abruptness on my part recently. On this past Thursday, my wife sent me a text that said "Call me. Emergency." Any spouses or parents among you will realize the panic that I went through without knowing any details. After spending an hour playing phone tag, I found out that our dog had bitten our son in the face. Abe was almost one hundred pounds and Kael, my son, is a whopping thirty at his ripe old age of nearly three. I lost it at work. The flood of emotions nearly washed me away but I was able to get my shit together and head to the surgeon's office.

After several hours of dealing with my morbid mind (the twenty minutes) before my wife and son showed up from the ER, I saw Kael for the first time. It was not nearly as bad as I had imagined but the sight of his face bandaged and covered in blood was enough to open the ole tear ducts. My wife and I held one another for a few moments then we went inside and set up everything so Kael could have surgery. He had a tear above his eye, on the bridge of his nose and two punctures, one on each cheek. All in all, it took nearly twenty-five stitches. He was a champ and has acted as if nothing ever happened much t my delight and surprise.

While waiting for the surgery, I elected to go home and deal with the dog. I loved Abe. He was one of my favorite pets ever but he had to go. The choice was easy to make but hard to complete. At his size and age, no one would adopt him (plus he was already exhibiting signs of old age: hip displaysia) so I finally took him to the shelter to be put down. Bottom line: that was one of the hardest days of my life and it also happened to be our fourth wedding anniversary. Kael goes in Thursday to get his stitches out and then Saturday, we're disappearing for a few days to a remote cabin in the middle of nowhere.

I will be back Tuesday but my wife and son will continue their vacation with my in-laws until the following weekend. This will give me a lot of time to get caught up on some writing. Development will be suspended, for my part, until I can nail some things down. I am sorry to those who have been patiently waiting but I will make it up to you. Thanks for listening, gang. I look forward to getting back into the groove very soon.

Thanks for everything.

I'm so sorry about your son and dog. It's never easy to lose a pet, especially under such circumstances. I'm happy to hear your son is well though. Sounds like you have one brave trooper. Take care of your family first and we'll all be waiting to welcome you back whenever you can!

On a completely different note to the one above.

I was wondering if anyone was looking for someone new to thread with?
I have an idea for a start, it was originally going to be a solo thread. But I find I keep getting stuck with it and think having another character might help move it somewhere.
So if anyone wanted to discuss the idea I had, see if we can work it into something interesting, then PM me and we can talk.

And I wont get that officially until Monday (hopefully). you would not believe the crap I have been having to deal with with Comcast the last few days, but I think I have figured it all out and should have internet on Monday. Right now I am using my personal hotspot on my phone (yay for data). But I am back and have already started posting again. I should be caught up soon! My class finishes early July too so soon I will be scott free besides like work and stuff.

Aside from other tragic news... Sorry to hear about that by the way! Hope all gets better soon.

I have been indisposed due to military and various reasons. I will be going to the field tomorrow and won't expect to return to till the 23rd. It is unlikely for me to work in replies, but I can try. Sorry for the inconvenience!
