Clyde relinquished a sigh, Ferrin registered the tension that grew from the man holding the staff. He swiftly silenced himself and stroked the mares head beside him as his other hand still clung to the reins. Waiting for Clyde to speak.
“A staff is a weapon for combat, if used right. Not everyone swings around steel, or shoots arrows. A staff is a simple weapon yes, but maybe I don't want to kill everyone I swing it at. Hammers and swords are fine and all, and you are both training to be knights, so you need weapons that can kill. But have you ever tried to swing a sword at a person, and get a good hit in, and not kill them? I can smack someone good with this, and make them think twice about fighting, and still have them walking around the next day. Can you say the same?” Said Clyde. Ferrin looked at the staff and almost felt ashamed and childish as he mentioned it.
The staff seemed adequate, yet it didn't feel like a 'proper' weapon to use against the Yukmen. He doesn't want them alive though, from what it seems. "I understand." Said Ferrin in shame as he looked up to the man before him, the Kenashian knew better then poke the bear. At least, he always knew when he agitated his mother with questions when he was younger. Clyde, though. He was a different person. More.. Complex in a way then Ferrin imagined he'd be.
It didn't matter to Ferrin though, he can work something out with this strange man, hopefully.
"I apologize. It was ignorance that led to my inquiries and my fault for asking of them. I meant not for the relationship between us to break. I was... Only gathering a sense of information for myself. To er get to know you." He said apologetically. "I also know these woods fairly well. Since my time being here I have been out hunting these past few seasons since Summer. I had only become a Squire this spring." He said cordially as he looked yander to the Gates.
"How intelligent are these Yukmen? Maybe, if we're lucky we can be able to sense a fire of some sort? Are they even that smart to make fire?" The last bit was intentionally for himself, he wasn't aware of how the Yukemen acted. He knew the existed, but he had not encountered them before in his life time. "If they were smart enough they wouldn't camp near the lake. I've heard rumors of a sea creature that roams the Pavi Lake. So, they'll probably be inside the more deeper parts of the woods." Said Ferrin assuming thats where they'll most likely be.

Ferrin wondered if Clyde knew magic. He heard rumors of creating things from flesh and the like. Though, he hadn't been so sure of Clyde. His trust for him is questionable. Clyde being responsible for the two, made things a bit more strained. Ferrin hoped that all things would go well for the three of them, er four. Including Cyprus. By Sylirs hand, things will go right for them.
