I'm pretty new here as well. I have a bit of a question... would it be all right to create a quick tavern or shop or something? Basic generic building and whatnot. Or do I find one already in existance and go in there? From what I have found so for, it seems to be the former...

You can find all of the locations in our walls right here! That is a list of every single location that you will find within this delightful place. <33!

Most people just use those as a backdrop to their thread. You can post in the actual location topic if you want, but only if you need attention from a moderator. Usually, people just label the title of their RP topic something like... "[Location here] Fancy Topic Title Name (Open, Private, whatever)". The location tag just notes you are RPing in that location.

Thanks! Trying to organize a hunting party. I'm not quite sure if one is needed... From what I know so far, the wilderness is dangerous, too dangerous for one person to traverse alone, especially a novice hunter. Therefore, a hunting party of two or more should work, right? But for some reason it seems off to me... maybe I just haven't seen much of that sort of stuff around.

Well, yes. The wilds are dangerous, but unless you have Tarot (or some ST that hates you) modding the thread for you, you can typically survive with an inch of your life in tact. With your own solo threads, you control the whole thing, so yeah.

Of course, when it comes time to grading, if your thread seems too unrealistic, it may bite you. Also, flashback threads can have NPCs along with your PC, that you control, so long as they don't to incredible divine acts of the Gods such as Bestowing your PC with gnosis or doing the impossible (by mizahar standards), if that makes sense. Gathering a hunting group is always more fun though, because then you are RPing with others.

Makes total sense. Which reminds me, if I do end up going on a hunting trip with some others, I'd like a Storyteller to hep out maybe? Where would I go for something like that?

apply for it in the help desk, put [mod please] in the title, or ask one of the mods you see in chat. i'd do one of the last two, the help desk and offices are usually quite busy as it is.

I would personally go here, and post to one of the Syliras AS offices. Just word out your request for them, and they will be able to help you from there. Contacting them in chat works fine too. Either way, you will still get the thread in about the same amount of time. Everyone gets responded to in order.

You could put the [mod needed] in the title, but that might get over-looked. They make their offices for this sort of thing, so that is why I mention it would probably be the best place to go.

Not to undermine Ivan, or tell you that he is wrong! Ivan is actually probably brighter than me! (More handsome, for sure! <333) I just wanted to add my two cents. ;D

I agree with Stitch, I wouldn't bother the Help Desk with a simple mod request. Only founders can read the threads in the Help Desk anyway, and you probably won't get too many bites on a small modded thread from a mod. They are very busy people. Like Stitch, I would visit a Syliras ST (If you plan to be in the Cobalt Mountains Area) or a Wildlands ST if you are in the wilds.

If you want me to mod one for you, just post your request with all specific details you want in my office (there's a link under my avatar) and we can make that happen.

Hello everyone! I just wanted to give a head's up that I updated the Rules for Posting in Syliras, and have made several announcements in my OOC Announcement thread. I told you I'd be back with a vengeance.

Also, to further answer the question on how to get a moderator to help out on a thread, the general rule is that you should just PM a moderator and ask them if they'll help out. Not every mod has the time to do a lot of threads, so it's always best to ask first and then once they say they'll help (like Leviathan did!) post a note with the information in their office.
