The Diamond of Kalea is located on Kalea's extreme west coast and called as such because its completely made of a crystalline substance called Skyglass. Home of the Alvina of the Stars, cultural mecca of knowledge seekers, and rife with Ethaefal, this remote city shimmers with its own unique light.

Rivaal sighed and shook his head. She looked downright miserable, and he could tell he was to blame for that. "I'm not throwing you out." There was that much. He wasn't going to push away someone trying to be a friend. He reached over and touched her arm. "I just want you to ease up, alright? I don't have any enemies, and I don't want your money."

He thought for a long moment, trying to find a way to calm her down, and lightly place his hand under her chin, and tilted her head up. Her eyes were wet, and more guilt hit him. He forced it away, and met her eyes. "A Vantha can't hide their mood from their eyes, so look into mine." He'd been honest up to then, and there was no anger in the eyes. They were a peaceful green with flecks of blue from feeling bad.

"I don't know what your eyes mean. I've never met a Vantha before," Arev said, blinking her golden eyes a little to clear them. "I...It...I can go, if you tell me to. I can't stay if it bothers you." She whined a little despite herself at the thought, though it was a quiet noise at least.

She looked back down, trying not to shift into her wolf form so she could hide under the bed. Everything in her nature was screaming Bad dog! at her. The Kelvic girl didn't know what to do with herself. She should have asked, should have waited, should have found someone who didn't mind. But she hadn't even realized it had happened until he woke up unhappy.

"Ugh..." How do I console a Kelvic? Damn... I've gotten out of tighter situations. Think, Rivaal, think!

Rivaal looked down and sighed. "I don't want you to go." He met her eyes once more. "You can stay. Please, stay. I just want you to ease up. No need to be so protective alright? Just start slow, alright?" He hoped he was getting through to her.

Arev didn't have the same emotional controls as a human--all of her kind tended to be unrestrained. So she couldn't help the absolute flood of joy that just sort of exploded out of her at the command 'stay'.

A furry body hit Rivaal in his torso, knocking him over on the floor. He had a very happy wolf pinning him down and licking his face. Her tail was wagging furiously as shreds of clothing drifted down to the floor. She'd been so excited she shifted without realizing it.

Once Rivaal had been thoroughly groomed and she'd sniffed him all over, Arev laid down on the floor and wiggled around on her back with all four paws in the air. Her tail beat out a happy, loud rhythm against the floor. She looked like a very, very happy canine.

Recovering from the assault, Rivaal sighed. He dried himself as best he could and watched Arev for a moment. "Please, settle a little bit." He closed his eyes and sighed. This was going to be difficult.

When he finally moved to stand, he placed a hand on some scraps of cloth. He looked around and realized what had happened. "You lost your clothes..." He wondered if she had another change, and then shook his head. "Look... I'm going out for a run. I need to stay in shape, you know. You can join me as a wolf, or in human form if you want."

Arev bounced up and wagged her tail fiercely, as if going for a run with Rivaal was the greatest thing on earth. It was going to take some time for her to mellow out and learn that he didn't want her going full throttle all the time. She was young still. Besides, a run was always exciting. She loved to run. The only thing better than a run was a chase--her favorite thing! In a city other than Lhavit, she would have made a great officer for the watch. Fugitives would be no problem.

She used her nose to nudge the remains of her clothing into a pile. Probably better to not do that again--she only had one more set. Note to self, buy more clothes. But once that was tidied up, she looked up at him hopefully and cocked her head. Go for a run?

Rivaal sighed, but it was with a smile. "C'mon, let's go. Hope you can keep up."

Out in the streets, everything was quiet. The day time was nowhere near as active as the city was at night. He took a few minutes to stretch. It wasn't long ago that he'd woken up, and he was running before breakfast. That was the least he could do.

He took a few deep breaths and found his center more and more with each stretch. He was doing something to his body with each motion. He wondered if Arev could tell.

Arev loped easily after him, ears pricked up contently. Her tail was high to indicate how good she felt at the moment. She was watching Rivaal and noticed the shift, but she didn't know what it was. Some kind of magic, maybe? That was the best she could guess. The Shinya here seemed to do something similar to themselves. The Kelvic didn't worry about it much, caught up in their run. She had a master now!

Rivaal built up his concentration, and finally channeled the energy he'd built up into his legs. It was important to do this daily as well. It kept him in shape and in practice. "Try to keep up, Arev!" His run turned into a sprint, and he was off like the wind itself, putting distance slowly between himself and the wolf.

As to his legs, Rivaal couldn't keep this up for long. A minute or so would be alright. He had certainly honed his magic to make himself faster or stronger when he needed to, but the daily routine made certain he was controlling just how much magic he was using, else he'd overgive and destroy his body from the inside out.

Arev burst into a sprint, spirit soaring. Now it was even better! She had something to chase! The Kelvic couldn't catch him until his magic ran out, but that just made her enjoy it more. Clearly, she'd bonded to the right person for her. Someone who could really run.

Her tongue started to loll happily as she concentrated, pushing herself harder. It felt amazing to run like this again. She flexed her claws, using them like the cleats on a runner's shoes to keep traction on the stone.
