Rivaal sighed and shook his head. She looked downright miserable, and he could tell he was to blame for that. "I'm not throwing you out." There was that much. He wasn't going to push away someone trying to be a friend. He reached over and touched her arm. "I just want you to ease up, alright? I don't have any enemies, and I don't want your money."
He thought for a long moment, trying to find a way to calm her down, and lightly place his hand under her chin, and tilted her head up. Her eyes were wet, and more guilt hit him. He forced it away, and met her eyes. "A Vantha can't hide their mood from their eyes, so look into mine." He'd been honest up to then, and there was no anger in the eyes. They were a peaceful green with flecks of blue from feeling bad.
