Aksia sighed, probably the fiftieth time, she tried to be a bit more patient. "So, what are you planning to do in Syliras anyways, get a job for miza's? she said "Go on grand adventures? What's it gonna be, since you won't be able to do anything productive living in an inn and eating eggs and vegetables." Aksia paced around the table, she wasn't feeling impatient anymore, actually, she was actually dwelling near the shores of pity.

"What's it gonna be?" she repeated quietly.

Tomas sighs as well. He didn't expect to have to make such an important decision so quickly, but he supposed it was better now than later. "I don't really know. I know that my mizas will eventually run out, but I don't want to just sit around and wait till that happens. But I don't really know how to do any of the stuff I see the humans doing."

Tomas thinks for a bit, but he really had no useful skills. "All I ever really did my whole life was play with Melanie. I only had to protect her that one time, and even then she wasn't actually in danger." He pauses, "I came here with some merchants. They asked me to guard them on their way. I didn't actually have to fight anything though, but I guess I could do that. Do merchants usually want people to protect them?"
"Honest! I didn't know I was supposed to go in the bathroom. At home they always made me go outside!"

Sasin snorted. "Yess, but they usually want a normal human with experience with a sword, rather than a wolf pup who know'ss nothing." He snapped. "Your besst bet is to go find a bondmate. You do know what that is, right? It'ss a person who you stay with and protect, and in return they give you a place to stay, give you meaning, teach you how to act, blah blah blah. Which makesss me wonder. Why aren't you with thisss.....Melanie, was it?" He mused. "Why did she ssend you away? What danger did you think sshe wass in?"

Turning to Aksia, he said "I sswear to siku, if you try and convince him to be my second stalker, I will gut you both. Very, very sslowly. Undersstood? And grand adventuress? Are you mad? He's a pampered pet! He wouldn't lasst five sseconds!" He hissed.

Tomas has no idea what a bond mate was, but he wasn't about to make himself more stupid. And if it was a person you stay with and protect, then Melanie must have been one of these "bondmates". "Melanie... her father sent me away. It was after some kind of ceremony they called a wedding. I'd never heard of this before, though the merchants I came here with explained to me what it was. After it was over I was waiting for Melanie in her room. She seemed so happy that morning and I wanted to play with her, but she and that man sent me out."

He pauses, wondering whether he should continue the story, but having no reason not to trust these people he decides to go on. "I heard a struggle, and so I broke into the room. They had locked her in from the outside, but it wasn't hard for me to undo them in human form, otherwise I would have broken down the door. He was on top of her.. I know now what was happening, but I didn't then. I attacked him and nearly killed him. They took him away and left me there with her. And then I did something else..." Tomas stops again and thinks, then decides to keep that last part secret.

"Roland, her father, was very angry and I think if Melanie had not plead for my life he would have killed me right there. Instead they sent me away and gave me this sack of coins. Payment, he said, so that I would never return... He said that Melanie did not want to see me ever again."

Tomas sighs and looks down at his forgotten drink, stirring the water with his fingertip. "So I wandered around for a while until I found some merchants who were coming here. They told me I could come if I guarded them. And now I'm here."
"Honest! I didn't know I was supposed to go in the bathroom. At home they always made me go outside!"

Aksia stuck her long blue tongue out at Sasin, flashing all of her razor sharp teeth at him. Sasin was so fun to tease, she loved seeing his annoyed face looking at her, she knew Sasin was a good guy deep down, well, even if he wasn't a good guy it wouldn't really matter since she was friends with him anyways.

Turning back to Tomas the Wolf Kelvic, she thought for a moment, biting down hard on her lip, a habit that had only just started building up "Ow.." she said nonchalantly as her teeth punctured her lip. "Well, it seems that you've got everything planned out quite well, so WHEN are these merchants coming for you? she asked...

Tomas blinks, slightly confused. He thinks over his story, wondering if perhaps he'd said it wrong. "Um.. nobody is coming for me. I already met the merchants, back in Zeltiva. They were coming here, to Syliras, and so I came with them. Sorry, I guess I forgot to say my home was somewhere else. I used to live in Zeltiva, but I'm not allowed to go back there."

Sasin snickered. "You inturrupted a wedding, and nearly killed the groom. I can see why she wouldn't want you anymore." He jeered. Stupid kelvic. "The only way you could have made things worse is if you turned out to be a mass murderer slash rapist or something." He laughed. He was cruel, yes. He prided himself on it. While many of his kind liked physical torture, he had recently began to explore mental or emotional cruelty. He enjoyed taunting people, expecially the clueless ones like him.

"So, what are you gonna do now?" He asked. "As far as I can tell, you only know how to attack mindlessly. No tactics, no considerations, just fight. No one wants a bodyguard like that."

Tomas bites back a snarl, his anger revealed only in his eyes, a simmering rage growing behind the golden orbs. He was getting tired of being insulted and made fun of. Who does this guy think he is, anyway? Maybe some of what he said was true, but not all of it. And he didn't have to keep insuting him. Tomas calms himself, knowing that he doesn't need enemies right now.

"I can do more than attack mindlessly. I may be out of practice, but I was trained to sniff out any threat before it ever got close. I can hear everything that goes on around me, and so its hard for anyone to sneak up. I can attack and not kill, if I want to. And if they get away, I can track them down and finish the job." His mind wanders back to the early days of his training, where he was forced to attack dummies and animals and people dressed in big padded suits. He never really had to use that training, but he still remembered it well.

He smirked inwardly as the kelvic snarled. "Oh really now. Oh that's just wonderful." He said sarcastically. So much for helping this kelvic. He really was contradictory at times. But the chance to tease him was too tempting. His eyes brightened as an idea jumped up and down and whacked him in the face.

Leaning forward, a hand on the barstool to steady himself, Sasin grinned at Tomas. If the wolfs sense of smell was keen enough, he would be able to smell a distinct snaky scent, and, on top of that, quite a bit of alcohol. He wasn't drunk yet, but it was a close call.

"Prove it to me. See if you can pick up my trail and hunt me down. Start in five minutes."
He said. "Interested? Here are the rules." He continued, regardless of what the Kelvic said. He intended to have his fun, one way or another. "Both of us will be able to switch between any of our forms for this." He hoped that would confuse him a bit, and give sasin the element of surprise. Hopefully. "Since you say that you can fight without killing, do that. Claws, fangs, anything goes, as long as you don't kill me. I won't bite you either, as that wouldn't be fair. I'd kill you immediately." He had no intention of breaking this rule. That would be no fun. And besides. The whole point of this was to see if the kelvic was friend material. "I get a five minute head start to go and hide. After five minutes, you can come and try to find me. Aksia will make sure none of us break the rules. Alright?" He asked coolly.

Tomas is taken quite a bit by surprise at the Dhani's proposal, and at first thinks to refuse it outright. But something about what the man said wasn't quite right. What did he mean by any of our forms. The man said he wasn't Kelvic, but Tomas had heard of other people who could change their shapes also. Mostly wizards, but still, the idea that he and this man might have something in common intrigued him.

As for the game itself, Tomas was confident enough in his tracking skills, as long as his prey couldn't fly. That always made things tricky. But he didn't want to hurt anybody, though the man seemed to be the type who could hold his own in a fight. Who knows, it could be fun. And he needed to practice if he was going to make a life guarding merchant caravans. Maybe that was the whole point behind this. Tomas grins and nods his head, "Okay. But don't complain after I beat you, ok."
