If y'all are ready to end this, I'm all for it. Enjoyed it.

And just when Idue thought he had Bob defeated, the short man lifted his weapons again for a second round. The Benshira could admire the man for not giving up even though this wasn't really a fair fight. Idue wasn't being rude to the man's lack of height, but really Bob had trouble reaching him due to his shorter arm length. Sure throwing sand in his eyes seemed to even it up for a few moments, but Bob didn't captialize besides knocking him on his arse, and Idue had a chance to get back up. And that was that. Idue was going to defeat Bob when he tired, and then the midgit was going to eat dirt. Simple as that.

But Bob didn't seemed to understand how this was suppose to end as he retried the onslaught he had done earlier. With each swing from his sword at Idue's right axe, the man muttered one word like he was cursing. Granted he said a different word each time, but they all sounded like he was cursing. At who or for what was beyond the Benshira didn't know.

Although as Idue blocked each strike from the man, Idue slowly understood. Bob probably was mad that he couldn't beat the man who knocked him down like wind blew a leaf off the tree. The man who embarrassed him in front of his friends was stopping his every strike, making him appear the fool. And it was annoying him. Idue didn't know it was more everyone Bob knew instead of just Idue. The Benshira didn't know much about Zenai or Eridanus, and Bob probably knew more. At least enough to resent being seen around them. Why would a midgit want people cramping his style anyway?

And then Bob dropped both weapons. He was tired out, and Idue could finish the match. But he didn't want to kill the man. He threw dirt in his eye, but that didn't sign a death sentence. But he did want to make Bob hurt just a little. so Idue shifted the grip of the axe in his left hand so he would hit Bob with the blunt side. A sharp blow, but not one to kill the man. Idue took a step forward, and Bob called Jinsen.

Idue nearly dropped the axes. Did Bob just call his dog to him? It took a moment to register, and the sound of scraping claws moving across the ground before he realized. Jinsen was coming for his owner and Idue was in the way. Idue broke off into a sprint straight at Bob, dropping both of his hammers.; he didn't need that one at the moment. Right before Idue collided with Bob, he jumped, spreading his legs out so he would hopefully fly over Bob. And if he didn't? Well, Bob was going to get whacked by something like a hammer, but it wasn't steel.

But if Idue got over Bob, he would kick backwards like a mule, hoping to push Bob straight into his dog. While it wasn't sand, maybe dog "venom" could compensate for the suffering Idue went through. And if it didn't, Bob still got a face full of slobber. so Idue still won.

That was pretty silly the lengths both Bob and Idue would go through to bring the results they wanted. Bob left himself open right for whatever attack Idue would do when he saw the chance, capitalizing that his dog will do what it was trained. It was very simple since they have already practiced it so many times. Bob always wanted his dog to come but many times it would just shrug him off when he gave the command. Visual stimulus seemed to work better for Jinsen because it always worked up to physical rewards which the friendly dog really desired. Bob after learning this drilled into it daily that the words "come" together with his open arms will always come to hugs and pets for the dog. As long as it went straight at him when he does that, it will get its reward in the end.

Yes, Bob was open but would a person say that it was stupid? Maybe, but they would also have to admit that everything he did to come up to this moment was smart. He might have left himself open but he has been preparing for Jinsen every since he forced the match on Idue and the benshira did nothing to try and find out or stop his plans. He knew that he would not beat Idue on fair terms but if they were sparring to survive Sunberth, this would be a learning experience for the innocent benshira. It would work like the sand attack earlier. The only reason Bob's sand attack worked then was because he already planned and prepared for something like that even before Zenai proposed it. The proposal was nothing more than a trigger which he could use to justify his actions and he also caught Idue completely off guard by not giving any hint of it. His preparation was masked with the help of Jinsen, he advanced to Idue all friendly like. So what was the difference?

The difference was, Idue might have already overheard Bob mentioning Jinsen's name earlier when he interrupted the spar or maybe from Zenai while he was struggling to convince the dog to get off of him. Nevertheless, the name registered in Idue's mind as he paused for a few moments while the dog advanced towards its target, scraping claws, excited panting and all. It ruined the surprise that Bob had been planning for Idue which was quite sad. Little boys would normally cry with tears of joy when mommy gave them a surprise gift in the form of a cute cuddly dog and Bob was going to let Idue have the experience even for a moment since he missed her so much. Kindness was rare in Sunberth. Idue should have just accepted the "gift" generously instead of being so harsh with his rejection. Did he consider Jinsen's feelings for a moment? What was so bad about the affections of a dog? It was just as pure as what his mother would feel for him.

Even with his weapons dragging on the ground and his body tired from the fight, Bob's mind was still working. He opened himself up knowing that Idue will take the chance. He was staring at the benshira as he waited, looking especially at the axe which no doubt be used for the attack. Bob was waiting for any chance which might betray Idue's intention like shifting his grip. His opponent was finally going to attack after defending for so long! Once the axe moved closer when Idue took the step forward, Bob feebly pulled on every muscle of his arms to lift both his weapons into the air crossing over all wobbly to where he though the axe would go. He never did plan on not defending himself if he was going to be without a doubt attacked.

But the axe never came and Bob was feeling pretty silly to try and block an attack he knew Jinsen would stop. After this fight he would tell his dog that he was sorry for ever doubting it. They have went through so much together. While Bob might run away when there is trouble, his dog certainly won't. With a sigh of relief when he heard the axes dropping on the ground, he opened his eyes expecting to see Idue on the dirt again with Jinsen right on top. Then he can taunt the benshira more about why he should not have messed with the midget just because he was bigger and had two axes.

What he saw instead was an Idue, face full of realization that Jinsen was coming for him heading right up at Bob. "Just what the hel-" he exclaimed in shock and stepped back on reflex trying to get away from the benshira which being as close as they are would not happen. The surprising thing was, Idue jumped right before they about to meet. But what exactly did he think was going to happen? Bob might be short, but he was not that short that just any man would expect to jump over in a leap. Unless Idue had some unnatural abilities to let him jump higher, it would never ever work.

The next thing that happened should already be expected. With normal people, Bob's head is already pretty close to their chest. Idue jumping over, even spreading his legs to try and add more distance between them could do nothing. It only provided a point of impact for Bob's head much like fitting two puzzle pieces together. This was going to be one memory which will haunt Bob forever. His head hitting right into Idue's "Brrrrrr..." It was painful to even think of how pain Idue would feel but that would only be momentary and the benshira would eventually get over it compared to Bob who would now have to live with the fact that he just got into contact with another man's..."Brrrrrr!"

Falling on the ground into a compromising position, Bob will hold on his head for a while until the pain dies down and start brushing on his hair with Jinsen licking on the same. More screaming and yelling would follow about how he had just been "tainted! I have just been petching tainted by a benshira with mommy issues!" In front of his friends too. Nothing that Idue has done so far or will ever do can be as embarrassing as this. There was nothing that Idue can do. No amount of money, favors or gifts will ever remedy Bob's animosity towards Idue. The benshira can try if he wanted to. If he worked hard enough Bob might forgive him enough to just ignore him but from this point onwards as Zenai would know, Bob will use every opportunity he could to get revenge on Idue. The saving grace was that as long as Idue kept away from Bob, he would do the same never wanting to meet this...this..."shyke!"

OOCSorry man, I did not find any acrobatic skill on your CS and 4"5' is still quite a lot to cover. At least you are still able to humiliate him like you wanted. It was the best, and the funniest way that I could think of. :P

Postby Zenai on November 4th, 2011, 1:32 pm

So his knee-kick-headbutt combo attack didn’t work out the way Zenai has planned. Actually, it completely failed and Zenai almost overextended himself thus giving Eridanus a window of opportunity to strike at him when he was most vulnerable. Eridanus had a burst of unusually speed as he back offed from Zenai. Zenai suspects he had some special ability Zenai doesn’t know about but it seems its particular draining on his upper body. Still, the fact of the situation was that Eridanus had dodged his attack and Zenai is in a bit of trouble. However, Zenai was able to twirl to where Eridanus had side-stepped and brought his talon swords to bear to take a swipe at his friend. As Zenai planned earlier, it was blocked like it was supposed to be and it gave time to Zenai to get a stable footing.

Zenai then fired a rapid succession of stabs, jabs, kicks and slashes, hoping to catch Eridanus off-guard. He stabs with his right sword, Eridanus side-stepped it. Zenai then went for a left kick but again, Eridanus dodged it. He withdrew his right blade to swing it wide at Eridanus who then blocked it with his swords. Zenai threw jab through a fake sword cut but Eridanus saw it and prevented Zenai from throwing an effective jab. Zenai kept up his attack, never minding that his attacks were constantly dodged and blocked. His main objective now is to tire Eridanus out and Zenai is finally seeing the fruits of his labor as Eridanus’s movements are getting sluggish.

Eridanus should have a plan right about now. Some wicked move to pull off so Zenai would either be “killed” or make Zenai submit. It has to do something with his speed and agility especially from his legs. He’s been bunny-hopping around and keeping Zenai on his toes. Zenai would need to end this soon as his body is beginning to rant and whine especially his muscles and joints. If Eridanus continued on with his hopping tactic, this would tire Zenai out and he will be the one forced to submit. Zenai has to end this quick as well if he has any chance to succeed.

However, Eridanus took the initiative by using a downward slash which Zenai reacted by bringing his talon sword up to block it. Both blades clashed and locked with each other, neither willing to give up to the other. Little would Zenai know this would be the beginning of the end. Eridanus suddenly let go off his sword and with his free hand, he went for Zenai’s defenseless neck. This was what Eridanus was up to; he wants to get a hold on Zenai’s neck so he can choke him to submission. If there was one thing Zenai doesn’t like, it would be having his space invaded. Not like Eridanus’s looks or suspected orientation have anything to do with Zenai’s outburst. It’s just that Zenai doesn’t like his space invaded and Eridanus is no exception.

Unfortunately for Eridanus, Zenai still has his sword free and would just need to bring it down bearing on his neck. What better way to repay having your neck grabbed than having a sword pressed against your friend’s delicate neck? However, out of the corner of his eye, Zenai could see a glint of Eridanus’s sword coming towards his mid-section. Petch! It would be difficult to block it properly when Eridanus has a hold on him. He would need to think of something quick before Eridanus end and win this sparring match. Something Zenai would not let happen ever. With his combined outrage and desperation of the situation, Zenai has planned a violent course of action that would turn the tide against Eridanus and teach him a lesson.

Eridanus can clearly see Zenai’s rage spread across his face when Eridanus grabbed Zenai’s neck. Zenai swung down his free sword at Eridanus, pommel first and whacked Eridanus across the cheek. Zenai also lean forward and pushed Eridanus so he would lose his balance in conjunction with losing some of his senses when he pommel-strike in the face. Zenai also let go of his sword in his other hand and moved to grabbed Eridanus’s long sword before it hits. Speed be damned especially Eridanus locked himself into a position where strength wins over speed. Zenai, with his legs, tip Eridanus over so he would fall backwards but since he didn’t let go of Zenai, Zenai was pulled along as well but this was what Zenai wanted.

Zenai made sure he shifted his entire weight into the fall so Eridanus would hit hard against the ground while being pressed against it by Zenai. He also brought up his knees so he would be able to pin down Eridanus with his legs. The crashed came and Zenai choked when Eridanus, still holding onto his neck, was pushing against his Adam’s apple because the Eridanus’s sudden stop and Zenai’s inertia. Zenai who had grabbed Eridanus’s other arm held down the Ethaefal’s arm down to the ground to prevent him from using it to retaliate. Zenai’s right knee pushed down on Eridanus’s stomach. For his final move, Zenai brought down his free sword against Eridanus’s own neck so the blade would press against the tender neck.

The dust settled and the two comrades stared at each other. Eridanus has his hand around Zenai’s neck while Zenai had a blade against Eridanus’s neck; pinned Eridanus’s other arm down; and his knees on Eridanus’s stomach. Sweat started to pour forth from each other’s faces in addition, to the heavy breathing from the intensive blade action but both them still held a tight grip over the other. Zenai, despite having his neck grabbed, spoke, “Okay, let’s end this and call it a draw. I don’t think we would want continue having exhausted each other and Stumble Alley being a dangerous place and all. Agree to a draw and end to this practice session?” If Eridanus agreed, Zenai would just fell besides him and would just like to lie on the ground to rest and contemplate on their fight. If not, then Zenai would need to further beat the shyke out of Eridanus to make him agree to a draw and end the session.

OOCSeriously though, some personal space! Let's end it here and call it a draw.

Postby Eridanus on November 5th, 2011, 10:33 am

Eridanus felt satisfaction as his clawed hand found soft flesh and he gripped his friend's throat, but gasped in pain as Zenai drove the pommel of his blade down on his cheek, the extreme close quarters only allowing time to shift his face as much as he could out of the way but still suffering the brunt of the blow. This might leave a bruise for quite a while. Zenai was not done, and he grappled Eridanus and tipped him over, the two of them rolling together, locked in position like some sort of 'humanoid wheel' circus act. He tried to control the landing, but the energy directed to his legs left his arms weak, and the stronger human decided the landing, slamming the Vantha onto the ground and disabling his other hand from retaliation. He felt cold steel touch his throat, and he knew that the match was over.

It was difficult to consider the winner, for if he had been fighting a real enemy he would have crushed the man's windpipe at the beginning of that desperate manoeuvre, and so the situation would not have led to this. But a friendly spar was not real combat, and so it could be said that Eridanus might have won if they were aiming to kill, but lost if they were aiming to incapacitate.

“Okay, let’s end this and call it a draw. I don’t think we would want continue having exhausted each other and Stumble Alley being a dangerous place and all. Agree to a draw and end to this practice session?" Zenai began, the exhaustion evident in his voice as he panted.

Eridanus wordlessly nodded, and appreciated the diplomacy Zenai had, for it was pointless to lose oneself in the technicalities of who won or not. As long as both friends learned something and improved themselves in the spar - which was the original objective of their training - it was a win-win situation and both of them won. The human released the sword against his neck and moved off him, allowing the Vantha to step up. The wound on his chest, though minor, bled more than it should through the laceration due to physical exertion, and the pain that resulted when the adrenaline wore off when his body realized that there was no immediate danger to his body caused him to stumble when he stood up, the world swirling around him.

His friend immediately came to his aid, supporting him on his shoulder as Eridanus attempted to regain control over his limbs, closing his eyes for several chimes until the world stopped spinning. His lips were pale white, which combined with his already pale complexion made him look sickly or even a corpse if he were not moving, and he showed his gratitude by smiling at the human.

He would need to take longer than usual to recover, but he had indeed learned a lot from this encounter and he looked around to find his other two friends Bob and Idue to see them also wrapping up their duel. He did not exactly see what happened between the two of them, for he was occupied with his own duel, but he could see Idue's face scrunched up in pain and Bob looking deeply disgusted like he had just bathed in a public sanitation facility. Eww.

Waving at them to get their attention, he voiced out, "That was pretty educational, and I think that we're all probably starved after expending so much energy. Anyone up for a meal?"

OOCThis is probably the last round, so the last person (Bob right?) should round up the events and end the thread. It's alright to do some minor godmodding our PCs if that's what you need to get things going :)

[Stumble Alley] Learning How NOT to Die (Open)

Postby Idue on November 6th, 2011, 12:01 pm

I understand that four five is something difficult to clear, but think about. Idue is just under six foot I believe. So at his waist its about three feet or maybe even more. So really he's only jumping a foot and half or less. But don't change it. I like this outcome better.

Idue must've trusted Yahal too much to provide him the ability to jump over Bob. The Benshira thought he could've cleared it, but he was mistaken. His groin crashed into Bob's face, and a jolt of pain went straight to Idue's stomach. When Bob landed, Idue rolled off of him and clutched his stomach. Some things men couldn't man up and take, and this was definately one he would have trouble handling. At least for a few chimes.

But Idue felt slightly better to see Bob in the same situation. Except the short man was yelling how he was tainted by a Benshira. Did getting touched by a Benshira bother Bob? Did he consider them inferior and one touch from men like him would give him disease. And the thing was, Idue barely crashed into him. What had hit him so bad that he was be screaming out bloody murder? His axes and hands never even touched him. Shaking his head, Idue could only assume one thing. He must've kneed him in the throat.

Eridanus called out to them, saying something about getting a bite to eat. It sounded good to Idue, but he wasn't going to be eating anything until this stomach ache went away. But the Benshira stood up with some difficulty, and retrieved his axes. He hoped his hobbled walk didn't give anything away. How embarassing it would be to say a midgit hit you in the groin? He would never hear the end of it from the Ethefeal and human. And this made Idue want to get revenge on Bob from providing him a chance to be laughed at from morning till dark. Whenever Idue saw Bob, he would try his best to get back at him. If only he knew it was mutual.

With his axes back in his sash, he walked over to Eri and Zenai. He noticed their wounds, Eri sporting a cut on his chest and the beginning formation of a bruise on his cheek, while Zenai had a cut on his cheek also. How would they react when they saw he had no wounds to see? Maybe he could get by by just saying he would have a bruise where they couldn't see. The meant his whole legs and his torso up. Granted it meant his groin too, but he wasn't going to come right out and say it.

"You guys choose. I don't know my way around Sunberth as well as some of you." That was really for Zenai and Bob if he had walked up yet, the Benshira knowing he had been here for the same amount of time as Eridanus. Not that he doubted Eri was as ignorant as he was. After nearly causing the death of the Vantha looking man, he wouldn't think anyone was dumber than him for a while. And once he woke up the next morning? He'll the wisest around again.

It looks like Idue learned another lesson too thanks to Bob. He must be a really good teacher. Next time he should be charging people for this. Training and humiliation will not matter much as long as he gets his mizas like for the circus. Even if they could without a doubt ask him to train the animals or do an animal act since he would be their best candidate here in Sunberth, any act Bob would do will inevitably turn into a comedy fast and its no secret that the best comedies in the world are tragedies. Which was why this scene with Bob getting a face full of something...and Idue getting one of the most painful blows for any man in Mizahar is five star material which will never be done again as far as the pair is concerned. Unless of course Bob literally runs into another idiot foolish enough to try and jump over him when they should at least try and sidestep him if they did not want to have some Jinsen love.

Idue should not mistake that Bob was in the same situation. Like everyone should already know by now, this is a horrible experience which will be carried on for a lifetime whereas Idue's pain will only last for...well, it looks like he was over it now. He was not important enough for Bob to think that his hobbling was because he was really affected by their collision. Bob just thought that it was the way the benshira had to walk from wherever it is they came from. Sand or snow it was all the same. He would not admit it but the next time he was in the benshira's homeland he will walk like that so he will not seem too out of place like Idue is over here. Actually Bob just tried it by limping for few steps right now. Not because his groin hurt and not because he wanted to mock Idue as much as he deserved and would perceive it, but because he just wanted to see how hard it would be before he makes a decision that he will never ever go to their desert.

Fortunately after that Bob did not want to have anything to do with Idue and their prior encounter so Eridanus and Zenai will never know about it unless they already spotted it earlier or it somehow comes out at... "Where exactly are you thinking of going?" Bob asked still brushing his hair like it was infested with the worst things possible. Like fleas. Only instead of getting it from the animals from his job or Jinsen, he got it from a benshira. Bob should be glad that this was the only "injury" that he had gotten today compared to the cut he was forced to give Eridanus thanks to Idue and a cut to the cheek like Zenai. Bob of course blames it on Idue making his current animosity grow more and more as he was reminded about it everytime he saw the reddish wounds.

Should they even be concerned about a meal now? They should get those look at even if they might be trivial to battle hardened warriors. But Bob won't be suggesting that they go to the freaky doctor's place. He could use something nice to eat too, to get his mind off... The nearest place that they could go to would of course be the Disappearing Drunk but Bob that man locked Bob out during all the mist chaos! Should he really be getting some of his mizas now that he survived without him? The Pig's Foot would be the safest place to go to and was a personal favorite, but Bob had other ideas of where they should go to. Revenge is something that should not be waited on for too long especially when there is a perfect opportunity at the moment.

"Why don't we go to the Drunken Fish" he suggested. It was one of those other famous taverns in Sunberth. Famous because of how unsafe it was. With any luck Idue would get the cutting up that Bob had failed to give him or if Bob was even more lucky, he could get the benshira drunk enough and trick him into signing up for service at a ship. It should not be too hard. Bob already knows what motivates Idue and that was his mother. All he would have to do is slip him some information, or failing that give a gold piece to one of the sailors to say that they saw a benshira woman sailing off on a ship. Even better if that sailor would hint that the woman went as a slave and pressure Idue as hard as possible so that he could not think it through properly. That was his plan that he was not going to tell anyone else, instead he will say that "I heard that they serve some pretty good seafood and as a person born in Zeltiva I want to see if they can claim that."
