Xalet's back, and with more baking power than ever. This time I don't have my wife around to do the photography (she's at her mother's for the day to help in preparation for our family Thanksgiving feast) unfortunately, it also means I don't have her natural aura of baking power in the kitchen with me. No problem though, this just means I get to do whatever I want. I know a thing or two, after all.
As such I bring to you
Chocolate Fudge Peanut Butter Rice Krispy Marshmallow Man Brownies. Yeah, you heard that right. Alright, let's jump into this, to the ingredients!
Notice Great Value makes it's appearance again. There's a few things you don't skimp on though, that being chocolate, marshmallow, and peanut butter. Where's the man ingredient you ask, that's coming.
So the first thing you do is make your typical fudge brownie. You know the drill, I'm not going to bore you with it, because there's a whole heap of crap we're going to do to this poor plain jane brownie:
Now we put on a bag of marshmallows. Yeah, you heard me, the whole bag:
Then you bake that at about 350 for 5 minutes or so, just so the mallows can get gooey:
Now comes the fun part. So you let your marshmallow goo cool down so it solidifies and congeals into a solid mass of awesome (I put it in the fridge for a bit) and you start melting down your chocolate chips (one and a half cups), peanut butter (one cup), and some butter (one tablespoon) on low-medium heat:
Now here comes the secret man ingredient. High quality protein powder. Oh yeah. Two scoops of this stuff will add vitamins, protein, and man power to your brownies. Go ahead, just mix it right in there (this part is totally optional, obviously
):
Take your melted down cauldron of godly brew from the heat, and stir in a cup and a half of rice krispies:
Spread your ultimate crunchy protein sludge on top of the marshmallow topping and put it in the fridge for at least 30 minutes, or until the topping sets completely:
And finally, you can cut up your brownie and enjoy. Here's a money shot of it sitting atop it's glass pedestal with an ice cold glass of skim milk:
A super close-up:
I tried it, it's freakin' delicious. I'm bringing it to the Thanksgiving dinner tomorrow. Just a few things to note. You'll see that I put tinfoil atop my baking pan. Make sure you do this, and spray the hell out of it with non-stick spray. The marshmallow is unbelievably sticky, and in the places it touched that were sprayed it came off like nothing, but I could tell some places I missed because it was very sticky. This also allows you to cut it super easy because you can just lift the foil up and put it down and then cut in straight lines.
Anyway that's about it, I enjoyed making them!
