With that said and done Ricky felt his muscles ease from the tension of the situation, his relief letting him fall to his bottom as he let his breath release. The light had shone into the abandoned house like the dawn of a new perspective, filling Ricky with plenty of questions that could only be answered by the one person that had just left. The statement he made before leaving bothered Ricky greatly, it would seem Igno clearly had a bad childhood in his day. Yet what right did he have to put Ricky down, as well as however many others he may have brought harm to? It was insulting to think of what Igno said, about Ricky thanking his dad for such a spiteful man. It infuriated Ricky even more now because he wondered what his pa would say, what he would do in a place like this. Odis seem to finally be coming around from his fear, his whines now died down as he came close to Ricky. Ricky looked to the dog with a sad frown, then to the open doorway that shone their way to freedom. Igno no doubt was gone already when they would leave, no doubt heading to his next victim he could find one. Such ill thoughts Ricky had of this man wasn't necessary, but they still formed like the clouds that carried storms. His mind now knew only anger and yet his heart had a different feeling, one that would prove he still was only human. Pity. Ricky didn't pity the man but his actions he took today, he didn't hate Igno for what he was about to do; only wished that he knew why. He wanted to find a way to help this man, show him that not all people are bad in this world. Yet Ricky would have to know more about Igno, and he didn't see any conversation in the future bound to happen. Crushed but not defeated Ricky came to accept that the event had passed, he looked to Odis with his troubled expression; the dog had the same look as well but it was clear his thoughts were more concerned about Ricky. "C'mon boy, guess we better clear out before another stranger attempts to jump us." He mumbled with a sigh as he patted Odis, the dog licked his forearm lovingly as Ricky stood back up. He wiped the dirt off from his backside and looked to the door once more, once he would leave this place he would definitely see things from a different perspective. Slightly skew from his original, but still a new way to look at things. They both walked out together knowing that the world was dangerous, but the proof with the proof of today's event present it only showed Ricky it was even more so. The world is wild and random, even in a civilized community like this there were those that could hide in it's shadows. Ricky learned this just now and will take that knowledge to heart. He knew not who or what Iggy was or why he acted the way he did, but some day in the distant future Ricky was going to find out. Someday he would anyway. |
