Fallon

Even though Fallon had chosen to walk away the dark skinned girl followed her. She had thought that the squire was more worthy of speaking with being that she was female which made her smarter. Even so, wrong or right, she had set her eyes on the squire and didn't feel that she had the time to find another of the order that was also female. So she followed along, keeping a safe distance from the squire, but staying close enough so that she didn't lose her. Finally when Fallon was done shopping, and moved to post near the alley, the girl decided that now was the time. She approached the squire, getting her attention with a smile upon her lips and spoke in her best common.

"I need help, protection."

Before anymore was said, a bulky figure appeared from the other side of the alley and darted towards them. He was quick, and before anyone could move, the large man grabbed Fallon by her shoulders and launched her into the wall. The young squire wouldn't be knocked unconscious, but she would surely have a ringing in her head and looked up just in time to see the large man walking off with the now unconscious girl on his shoulder.

Shiress

Rem Aargon rushed through the streets as fast as her short legs would carry her. The woman wasn't as fast or sharp as she used to be, and wouldn't normally take to such activities but this was an emergency. On a day that all should be happy and joyful and enjoying the festival, there were problems. The people in the Rearing Stallion had gone insane, and a huge brawl had broken out inside the tavern. Kevith, her husband had stepped out sometime before to purchase more supplies and hadn't been around to stop it. She now raced through the city to find him after having left her son back in the tavern to try and stop the madness. It was then that she spotted Shiress and hurried over to the woman.

"Shiress!! Quick, get to the tavern there's a huge brawl going on! I have to find my husband and a guard, but my son, he's back there alone with those drunks. Hurry and do what you can. I'll find my husband and bring the Knights as soon as I can. Go!"

Lucy and Orion

Things seemed to be looking up for Lucy and Orion, and with the squires patrol nearly over, the two would have the rest of the day to enjoy the festival. However, sometimes first impressions simply won't do. First Orion, then Lucy would feel a poke in their sides. The object of the poke being a stick which the chubby man had found and used to get their attention.

"Hello again, yea I know...didn't expect to see me again did you? At any rate, here's the thing...this package is very important and I need to get back as soon as possible, but with all these people around..it's going to be difficult. So what I need from you, is to clear a path and escort me back." He smirked as he glanced over to Lucy then back to Orion. "You can even bring your friend along...trust me, I can make it worth your wild."

Perc

The thief made it to the warehouse district, but with Perc on his trail there were no chances of hiding without the squire seeing where he was going. He raced on still, making his way through a few walkways until he found himself entering into a large open warehouse two stories high. There were crates and the like stacked around the place, as well as machines used to load and unload heavier crates.

The thief took to hiding behind crates, but it was impossible to hide there for long. He had underestimated Perc and now founded himself trapped in the same area as the squire. There were others in the area, men who were now looking curiously at what was going on. They didn't appear to be thugs, more like irritated workers, tired from a long day. It wasn't unlikely that they would attack, but Perc still had the thief to catch.

Lucy smiled at Orion, his bright way of speaking making her forget about the short man with every passing minute. He nudged her slightly but she didn't mind it, in fact in most cases Svefra children always started playful fights but for some reason Lucy had a feeling that Orion wasn't trying to pick a fight with her. She nodded at his suggestion to them drinking later on and felt her face turn the color of the shirt Orion had just bought her. 'So selfless and nice, I wish I was more like him.'

That's when her heard the comment about her jewelry. 'Has he not noticed my mother's ring?' She thought and gave it a twirl on her left hand while her right hand still held the shirt. She was about to say something when a golden bracelet was thrown her way. She stopped playing with her mother's ring and caught the bracelet with her left hand. She first slipped on the golden bracelet and then the shirt. She flipped out her hair, shaking her head from side to side and smiled at Orion. "Thank you so much Orion. I can't wait to get to know you better." Lucy said and winked hoping she had caught on to the flirting game they were playing. She was about to admire her bracelet when she felt a poke at her side.

She turned around to see the little balding man again and had to hold herself back because the temptation of punching him was overwhelming. She looked at the little man, deciding it best to hold back the curses she wished to yell at him. She couldn't help but shiver though as his gaze passed over her. "Well, I don't mind. Just tell me which way to go." Lucy said not wanting to pick a fight with the little man anymore. She didn't want to embarrass herself again or make Orion feel uncomfortable anymore then he already had to. 'Why can't this guy get home on his own? Isn't he wasting time talking to us?' She sighed but waited to see which direction they would go in and would follow Orion.

Fallon gave a gasp, her brow creasing at the force in which she was launched into the wall. She remembered the words of the girl mere moments before the attack was landed on her. She gave a grunt, followed by a groan as her mind began to work. She saw what she saw, and with dragged herself up. Her hands fumbled at the wall behind, the world swimming as she tried to truly comprehend what was going on.
Girl asks for help. Check. You get attacked. Check. She’s being carried away. Check. She took in a deep breath, pouring in all her focus Well what the petch you waiting for Fallon!

And so the squire reacted. Or tried to the best she could. She reached into herself, pulling at her Djed through the headache. This was no time to worry about personal feelings, she had to react and react now. This man, be he a local or foreign, had attacked a squire. She took a lurch forwards, her arms falling forward, limp and lifeless. She let the air enter her lungs, mentally listing what the next course of action was to be. She needed to attract attention, and she needed to slow him down where she could. Create time, get assistance. She felt the threads of the astral unravel in her arms, her eyes intently focusing on the back of the man that began to walk away. She spurred her legs into life, her intention to close the gap where she could and keep herself within range. Her intention was made, she just prayed the man would not realise what she was going to do.
“Stop that man!” she released a shout into the air as she willed one of her astral fist clenched. Whether or not others heard her above the festivities was yet to be determined, but she did not wait long enough to find out
Get the show on the road Squire! was the last thought that went through her head as she swung the right astral hand at him, whilst the left grabbed at anything it could. Every little helped.

He couldn't deny it, the shirt looked good on her. Though the skin it had hidden from view would be sorely missed, he understood it was probably for the better. Being a towering and beautiful woman was probably enough attention already. Showing off all the goods was a bit overkill. "No need to blush around me. I just call them how I see them. Take a compliment, will you?" He grinned, watching as she tried on her new bracelet as well, and he couldn't complain about her reply. "Oh you tease. You get a few drinks and me, and I fear you'll be regretting those words. Or maybe you'll be yelling my na-"

Poke, poke, poke.

A prodding at his side was well timed to stop the former doctor from saying something he probably shouldn't. When he turned to see who it was, he figured it would have been better to finish his sentence than deal with this rat of a man again. Before he could tell him off for his ridiculous suggestion, Lucy actually agreed to his request, and that was more than surprising. Surprising enough that Orion didn't really know how to do anything but accept. "Uh..yeah..sure. A little odd that you need us now," he shook his head, scowling at the disgusting little man. "While I respected that you had your right to privacy, it's a tad bit rude to come back to us after the way you held yourself. But..if my friend here is okay with it..I guess I'll go along. My patrol is basically over."

Orion didn't really give a shyke about the little man or his delivery. If there was one thing he was starting to learn, it was that connections were everything. If he could get in a good name with a well respected family, that could go miles for him.

In the end, the sooner they could get done, the sooner he could enjoy the rest of the festival with the lovely Miss Lucy Tides, and perhaps make her eat her earlier words, after a few drinks, of course.

Spring Festival Quest

Postby Shiress on April 24th, 2013, 3:51 am

Shiress' mouth opened with a gasp as small arms grabbed her and spun her around. It was Rem, a panicked Rem, sounding desperate as she spoke.

A brawl?

Before Shiress could respond, the small framed woman disappeared back into the crowded street. Shiress turned to face the direction of the tavern, hesitating a chime, then stepped away to wind and push herself through the thick mass of people.

Of all the people between here and the tavern, she had to stop me. What in the gods names am I supposed to do?

Finally, making her way as quickly as she could through the street, she stepped up to the doorway of The Rearing Stallion and swung it open. Her mouth fell open in disbelief as her widened eyes settled on the chaos. It seemed every patron in the room was either fighting or throwing something.

She quickly darted her eyes from one drunken bloodied face to another, scanning the tavern until finally catching sight of Rem's son. "Seth!" She yelled over the drunken shouts, breaking glass and shattering wood as she quickly jumped out of the path of a flying stool.

She moved passed the doorway and into the tavern, her feet crunching and grinding the broken glass into the wooden floor as she stepped cautiously through the gaps of drunken swings, taking a chime to snatch a mug from a raised hand just before it was lowered against the head of the prone figure lying on top of a now shattered table top.

She stepped forward again only to find her path blocked. She shifted to the right, then to the left, she was completely surrounded. Her arms covered her head to shield herself from the onslaught of brawlers as she pushed her small frame through the drunken chaos, finally making it to the bar just as a mug shattered against the wall in front of her.

She turned a stool upright and using it to lift herself she leaped across and cleared the bar landing on her feet on the opposite side. She quickly scanned the under-bar for something, possibly an idea of something, anything that she might could use or throw to gain attention of the drunken chaos long enough to yell a warning of the ensuing knights, hoping that bit of information would see a few stumbling for the exit.

Her foot hit against a bucket full of water and for lack of a better idea she lifted the bucket, leaned against the bar, turned it upside down dousing a pile of angry patrons wrestling on the floor just over the bar. "You all better get if you don't want to be arrested, there's an army of knights headed this way."
She took a step back as a very large and very wet man slowly stood glaring at her.
Oh shyke...I pissed him off.

Fallon, Orion, and Lucy

The hulk of a man turned around after the squire yelled, just in time to catch her astral fist in his jaw. It wasn't a very hard punch, but it was enough to shake his head. The man shook it off, staring confused for a moment of what had just struck him. Then he turned his dark eyes back to Fallen, he wasn't sure what she had done, but he knew she had done something. He growled as he leaned down to slip the girl off his shoulders so that he could fight the squire. However the moment that he did, people started to noticed.

Realizing that Knights were only a stones step way, he retreated through the other side of the alley, leaving Fallon and the unconscious girl alone. He rushed through the crowd, putting as much distance between them as possible. He hurried off and pulled his cloak over his head to hide his face from view. It seemed to have worked for a moment, until he heard a voice calling out.

"Halt!"

The bulky stranger took off again, pushing himself through the crowd. With his size it was easy to move through the smaller people, but it also left an easy trail to follow. Not too far from where this all happened, The weasel Montfort was steadily making his way back to the Illythian district with Lucy and Orion. There was a smug look on his face, the fact that he could talk anyway that he wanted to anyone he wanted, and still get them to do as he asked. It only made him feel more powerful and more untouchable.

That all changed suddenly, when as they all turned the corner, Monfort was suddenly blasted, and sent tumbling backwards from a savage hit by a huge man with a cloak over his head. The bag that the little man carried fell away, and all the items, jewelry, silks and other items littered the ground around him. The cloaked stranger jumped up, angry that the little man had gotten in his way and wanted to punish him for it. He drew a sword from his belt and raised it above his head to strike the balding man down once and for all.

"Someone help!!!!!" he cried loudly.

Shiress

It had been a hard time for Seth trying to defuse the fight on his own. There was no stopping it really, the people inside had all gone nuts. When Shiress entered and called out to him, Seth turned around to look towards the door. "Shiress look!!" his words were cut off as he was aggressively speared into the ground by a drunken man. It took him several minutes to wrestle himself away and finding a large mug that he cracked over the side of the man's head. By the time he stood up, he saw Shiress standing atop the bar with a huge angry man staring at her.

"Shiress get out!!" he cried

But it was too late, the man pulled the woman off her feet by grabbing her ankles and dragging her across the bar. His intentions were clear as he quickly started to rip off the woman's clothing, a sinister chuckle echoing between them. Seth quickly jumped up and leaped onto the much bigger man's back to save her.

"Get off!! Shiress run!!"

For a moment, Fallon was petrified. She had reacted without any true thought, the only real thoughts being that she had to stop him no matter what. Which she had succeeded in doing in, for whatever he seemed to be doing was wrong. He attacked without question; he wanted to take the girl off somewhere after she asked for help, and so the squire simply acted upon the fly with her mind set upon doing the right thing.
“Come on then!” she gave a shout, trying to make herself seem ready for a potential beating. But it never came; he fled the scene mere moments after realising that the knights were closing in. Exhaling Fallon took careful steps towards the girl he had left behind, feeling her astral hands slowly recoiling back to her, the fine tendrils lodging themselves back into place.

She gave a wince, feeling the pathways realign themselves; the nerves burning the astral linked itself back to the flesh. A hiss was released as her arms twinged, teeth clenching as she willed her hands into life. Stooping down to the head level of the girl she continued to look carefully, checking for damage and making sure she was alright.
“Hey, come on,” Fallon stretched an aching arm forward feeling the reluctant tendons stab at her whilst her fingers remained limp and lifeless “Come on girl, wake up.”
The numb feeling hung about her for a while, eyes blinking as the nerves began to awaken. There was the cry of halt from within the crowd, but at present the squire kept her attention to the girl. She gave her a tap, head leaning round for closer inspection before once more withdrawing “Any time today. Any time…”

Poking her head away she kept a careful watch on her surroundings, keeping herself attentive when a second cry erupted from the crowded street. Panic had ensured out there, a cry for help sounding out and although Fallon felt the duty to want to leave, she still had other things to deal with. She flexed her stiff fingers and waited patiently.

It wasn't what he expected, but it could have been worse. The man was annoying, but helping out someone who might just have influence could never be bad. Plus, more time with the beautiful Svefra woman, despite the fact that she towered over him, wasn't a bad thing at all.

Then everything fell apart.

Orion's sword was coming out of it's sheath almost immediately. He'd not expected to need to actually do anything today. This was supposed to be a time for enjoyment, for people to relax. The last year had been nothing but horrible for the citizens of Syliras. Storms. Those horrible storms. Orion had had a run in or two with bandits. Spies. That stupid, petching spy. It was all so ridiculous. And now this man had the nerve to draw his weapon in the public like this? When everyone was just trying to be happy?

Even if he wouldn't mourn the loss of the arrogant little man.

"Wrong move, buddy!" Orion twisted his body, holding his weapon with both hands, and unleashed the tension to send his blade whizzing at that of the cloaked man. The little bastard would owe Orion now. Him and all his valuables were only going to be okay because of what he was doing.

Just when things were going so well between him and Lucy, too. "I've just got all the luck!"

To think that such folk capable of such hideous actions could belly up to the bar at The Rearing Stallion made the barmaid rethink her place of employment. Of course, the city was full of indecent humans, half breeds and other forms and races but at the Stallion?

Granted, it wasn't the White Swan, but it was The Spinning Coin either. For Shiress, the Stallion was more of a place for regulars and farmers to come have a drink after work, a meeting place for a mug of ale or five with friends, maybe an occasional stop in for the traveler or even a place to feel not quite so lonely for the recent widower, but this?

Shiress and the drunken brawler had quite the staring game going on, the girl, too scared to move, and the man, daring the girl to move. Well, someone had to move, but it was the brute of a man that came to that decision before the barmaid.

Like a lick of lightening, the man had made his move and Shiress was helpless beneath him. His hands tore relentlessly at her blouse as she tried desperately to keep herself covered with one hand while the other attempted to fight the animal back. Eventually, she gave up hope of remaining clothed and utilized both arms, hands, fingernails, anything she could use to get herself free.

Just as she thought the ox was actually going to reach his goal, Seth came out of no where and planted himself on top of the man. Shiress took advantage of the distraction and leaned herself up and sunk her teeth into the mans arm. The taste was horrific with sweat and filth, but she wasn't about to retreat until her top teeth met with the bottom in between the man's flesh.

The man reacted to the pain the girl inflicted with a closed fist to her face, but it worked. The blow knocked Shiress loose and she hit the floor and the man turned his aggregation to the burden on his back. After a couple of times of falling back to her backside, she shook her head and regained her senses enough to make it to one hand, as one was covering her now exposed chest, and knees and crawl away.

Fallon

It would take a moment for the girl to wake up, the block that she had taken caught her off guard and she didn't have the chance to cover her head. The girl turned and cuddled herself against the squire, first unaware of who was beside her. Once she opened her eyes, she jumped back as the events from a moment ago all came back to her with a throbbing headache. The girl turned away and held her head in her hand and reached for the wall to try and pull herself up with the other.

People started to wander towards the alley to see what was going on, even a squire or too. A moment later an a Knigh burst his way through using his shield to push the onlookers back. By the time the girl got back to her feet the Knight had gotten close enough to catch her when she stumbled and almost fell. He turned to Fallon then, recognizing her as a squire and spoke loudly.

"What happened here?"

Orion

The bulky thug rose and stepped back a bit. He wasn't expecting to be blocked from his target. He glared hard at the squire and spat at him. It appeared that he would have a fight on his hands. Montfort scurried back as quickly as he could and clung to the wall, leaving the items to fin for themselves. The aggressor wanted to punish them both now, the balding fat man, and the heroic squire, but he just didn't have the time. He had to get away before he ended up with several Knights on his back. And so he raced towards the Squire with a viscous overhead swing, hoping to take him out quickly.

Shiress

Seth watched his life flash before his eyes as blow after blow from the man landed upon him. Fists, knees, and even headbutts slammed into the boy and sent him tumbling backwards. It was hopeless and with Shiress hiding, the boy would soon meet his end. That was until the door burst open, and like a wave of cattle, the Knights stormed in shields first and brought justice to the tavern. It was quick since most of the people were already drunk and tired from their fighting. Once he was cleared, Seth staggered over to the bar searching for Shiress.
