The city was a buzz early on this day as the festival was in full swing. Not a soul, man, woman, or child was asleep inside their homes. There were banners hung throughout the halls and corridors, and people were packed in the streets and out for fun. It was a huge spring celebration for the city and it's protectors. In the Jordon District, Knights of higher ranks assembled, proudly sporting their polished Knightly armor while speaking with the citizens in the area. The Grandmaster is also scheduled to appear but he wouldn't do so until later in the day.
The rest of the unranked Knights and squires were scattered throughout the city. Knightly post were always kept and being guarded, but patrols were set to be shorter on this day, so that the Knights and squires could also head out and enjoy the festival. As a tribute to the Knights and the people, the vendors in the markets were selling their wares at half price. There was also dancing and singing in the area close to the market, and a sectioned off area close to the bronze woods where people were allowed to race horses.
In the Illythian District there was a private celebration going on. These were the rich, the influential people of the city. They decided to hold their own parties and celebrate away from the common people as they always did. Although this may have been the first grand blowout for most of the city, for them, this was but another fun outing with drinks and idle chatter. There were also Knights amongst their crowds, honored war heroes and the like, all enjoying themselves. The art galleries were busy with patrons eying the newest of paintings by the artist of the city as well as dancing in their private ballroom, and a show being put on in the theater.
The celebration was to last all day and well into the night, breaking into the early morning of the next day. The vendors in the market looked to make plenty of coin on this day and had well stocked items for all so that they wouldn't run out so quickly.
