[The Great Bazaar] Making Preparations

Postby Miles Fletcher on May 13th, 2013, 7:51 pm

Miles could tell that the pycon was getting angry at him but due to his size, Miles wasn't intimidated at all. Though seeing how Varus had put his razor inside his clay stomach was simply astonishing to the mixed blood.

Miles also realized this pycon is more capable then he looks. He would have to be if he was claiming to be a knight and is going to make a human his squire. The mix-breed thought for a second before responding. "They are going to claim a lake? This could be a good chance to score a job or atleast get some practice."

"hmm...Perhaps I can join you, if your going to train then we should make it proper. I can craft some training dummys but they wont work too well without a few things." Miles says, speaking over the crowd. He looks at the isur and says in his isurden toungue "Do you know much about metal smithing?"

“Orvin? He’s fine,” she glanced down at the wolf for a moment, eyebrow cocked “He just has a quick temper sometimes.” The wolf gave a sniff and seemed to almost shrug at the comment.
Fallon raised the Pycon to their level and held him there whilst he spoke, with the questions brought along by the others. She could not help but give a smirk to the Pycon at his brimming enthusiasm, but his words she felt would one day get him into trouble.

“Silkwater Lake is in the Cobalt Mountains, a good 4 hour ride from the closest road. Isolated and out of the main path of civilisation. Though par the natural creatures that exist there, game and animals there is nothing to claim it from as such. Unless of course, you fancy fighting off ferocious rabbits, I’ve heard they’re very vicious,” Fallon begun before giving a respectful nod to Miles “Although the idea of training dummys are nice, I have a feeling transporting them all the way up there would be rather tiring and taxing. And slowing,” Fallon then turned and addressed the Pycon “Your squire? I hate to disappoint little one, but I’m already taken. Though you would no doubt make a valiant defender with all the gusto you seem to carry at present.”

There was a smile, and she reached down to pick up her bag once more with her free hand, before slinging it over her shoulder “Try a wooden weapon if you wish to train, it will carry half the weight- or at least as close as- and will give you the length. And then, maybe I’ll let you sit me on my backside,” she turned her eyes to the crowd and spoke in a mumble “I might be a squire… but it doesn’t mean I’m a good one.”

[The Great Bazaar] Making Preparations

Postby Edrik on May 14th, 2013, 6:02 pm

Edrik wandered through the bazaar, his curious bleu eyes looking desesperatly for Fallon. He had met the squire few days before and would have sworn she had asked him to meet her at the bazaar on this very day. But now he was there, he just couldn't find her.
Soon enough though, a curious crowd caught his attention. He recognize the wolf before he saw the squire, surrounded by... by what exactly, he had no idea.

He thread his way through the strange little group and tap Fallon's back to get noticed.
"Hello" he smiled like the angel kid he could look like "Remember me?"

[The Great Bazaar] Making Preparations

Postby Scarlet Evony on May 14th, 2013, 8:02 pm

It was on rare occasions Scarlet used her eagle form in town. Birds flying loosely in Syliras city were either frowned upon, shot down, or captured for sale. None of the prospects specifically enthralled Scarlet, but sometimes it was required. Before stocking up on what she needed, she usually turned into her animal form to examine the goods from afar and to judge whether or not they were worthy to be bought. Flying from table to table, sitting on rooftops and generally staying away from the bulk of the people, Scarlet had been examining the wares of some falconers.

Recently, she had become interested in acquiring an egg to have as her keepsake. Rather than going to inspect them up front, she tried to keep a distance from the specific stands before making her purchase. She never thought much about what to do with the egg, but she figured raising a baby eagle was something she wanted and needed. The rest was irrelevant.

While on her scouting run, she perched herself on top of a chimney, looking down upon the plaza. Amongst the people, the Kelvic distinguished a quite specific group. She would never be able to forget that coat... Nor the person wearing it. Unknowing if they had bonded or not, if it was mere coincidence or if it was destiny, it was still the third time they met. Scarlet forgot everything about her acquisitions and dove off the chimney, right above the crowd, trying to perch herself onto Fallon's shoulder without exerting to much pressure on it. However, on landing, the Kelvic flapped her wings a bit to compensate for the impact which almost cost Fallon her balance. She quickly repaired her mistake, ending up in an almost graceful landing on her shoulder. "Missed me?" She declared with her eagle voice, up to the world.

[The Great Bazaar] Making Preparations

Postby Hender on May 15th, 2013, 12:42 pm

The more the little creature spoke the more curious Hender got. It's a knight? How can something so small be a knight?!? Hender thought in upon amazement, not being able to take his eyes off whatever it was. It was so small yet filled with a bravado of a creature 100 times its size.

Henders eyes wore drawn away from the little creature when the man that resembled an Isur only in color spoke to him in his own language.

Hender was not sure how to react. He had not spoken his own tongue to anyone but himself since arriving in Syliras. Also he was not sure he liked the fact that this man new his language, after all he has no Isurian arm and is therefore not an Isur and has no right to the language. But then again someone has taught him the dialect, probably an Isur so should he honor this by replying in the same language?

There was a long pause then and Fallon spoke before Hender had quiet figured out what to reply. She described Silkwater lake and what was likely to be there, nothing by the sounds of things, and then declined Miles' offer to build dummies. Hender couldn't help thinking that a true craftsman would just carry the tools needed and create something out of materials he could find.

In an exchange between herself and the small creature, Hender was still perplexed as to how normal she found it, she announced she was a squire. Well that explains the desire to train. Silkwater lake sounds quaint and pleasant, maybe it would be good to get away from the noise of Syliras. Although will i really be escaping commotion traveling with these people?

Hender was just beginning to take in the information and processes it, a reply on his lips, when Another stranger entered the foray, this time a young looking boy, and asked Fallon if she recognized him. However before anyone could react to this newcomer an eagle swooped down and landed on Fallons shoulder, causing Hender to curse loudly in his own tongue and take a step away ready fight or flee he wasn't sure.

[The Great Bazaar] Making Preparations

Postby Miles Fletcher on May 15th, 2013, 3:41 pm

Miles stood feeling confused due to the popularity of the squire. He looks around seeing that the entire group was following her. "What is so special about this woman? why does everybody think shes so important?"he thought to him self.

Miles then examines the Isur out of the corner of his eye and notices that he has hardly spoken and didn't even respond to his native language. Miles wondered if he had even spoke the language yet the possibilities that he doesnt are sparse.

Soon a young boy ran to Fallon and greeted her, Miles began to get very curious of who exactly she was. He started to ask the woman a question before a large bird landed on her shoulder. In excitement Miles jumped back as he withdrawed his war axe. Prepared to strike the bird, the mixed-blood waits to see what happens.

[The Great Bazaar] Making Preparations

Postby Varus on May 15th, 2013, 5:57 pm

The little pycon sighed as he sat down in Fallon's hand. So many people were talking and he just wanted to get the adventure started. He was about to speak when suddenly an eagle landed on Fallon's shoulder, causing her to lose her balance, making Varus almost fall to the ground. "Woah!" he yelped before grabbing Fallon's fingers to make sure he stayed in her hand. "You have a lot of friends" he said looking up at Fallon. "Are they all coming?" he asked. "Cause if they are... Youre gonna need a bigger tent" he said with a smile on his face.

[The Great Bazaar] Making Preparations

Postby Maduro Salvitary on May 16th, 2013, 3:03 pm

Maduro had noticed a large gathering of people and decided to investigate there was all kinds of talk and he didn't know exactly what was going on.

He seemed to have gotten himself into a bit of trouble with the ladies as of late and a hot and steamy springtime adventure seemed like the way to go.

So he walked up to the small group, the pycon seemed to be in charge of the operation. You could tell he was a mountain of a man despite his small stature.

Hail friend, where are you heading? Are you looking for another traveler?

Fallon looked to the crowd that had collected around her. So many faces, so many questions. And although she would have normally enjoyed the sense of attention that it brought, the curious minds asking of adventure and travel. She barely had time to flash a quick smile at Edrik, the boy she had seen a few times previously before a more personal acquaintance perched itself upon her shoulder, a flutter of wings and the brush of feathers tickling at her features. The squire could not help bunch flinch at the presence of Scarlet, and the weight of having both a bird on one shoulder, a tent on the other and a Pycon upon her hand became all so slightly troublesome.
Gods, I’m turning into a pack mule.

“Orvin, come here,” she gave the wolf an order before stooping down to his height, keeping her back straight. Her hand remained open as she gently placed Varus onto the back of the animal, who in turn remained perplexed by the slight addition of weight. He gave the Pycon a funny look, with almost a look of horror fixating itself there as he adjusted to the passenger. The squire gave a sigh, and lowered the tent to the floor as she gave a glance to Miles and Hender “Calm, Scarlet means no harm.” Her now free hand gently stroked at the plumage of the eagle “So please, put away your axe.”
The squire gave him a nod before turning her head to the boy. She gave him a firm nod, “You alright Edrik?”

The of course another approached them, a new face among the sea of people that had gathered “Hail.”
Fallon’s now free hand went out to the stranger, gesturing into a firm shake “I… by the looks of things at least, am organising a trip up to the Silkwater Lake in the Cobalt Mountains. It will be away from the public eye, and used to develop at least myself in some areas of training. It will be hard work, and should you be willing to at least assist in tending to duties that will occur during the days up there, then you are more than welcome to attend. The same goes for all of you.” At this point the eyes of the squire darted about the small group that had formed before her, calculating almost as to what would be the next best thing “It appears… there are eight of us. I sense another tent might be necessary at the rate of popularity this is going. Among with a lot more in terms of supplies. Well, what say you all? Will you dare follow me up to the lake?”

oocNow for those who are definitely interested in attending, the 6 camp threads are now up. If you put a “yes I want to come” at the end of the next post- or if you have any questions OOC drop a PM my way. Those who say “yes” I’ll drop the 6 links to you all via PM. Anyway, happy threading!

[The Great Bazaar] Making Preparations

Postby Edrik on May 19th, 2013, 11:39 am

Edrik saw Fallon had no time for him right now. He was a bit decieved, because his curiousity requiered lots of attention, but endured the waiting and answered the firm nod of the squire with a large smile.

The group grew and grew up again, until noone was still listening to anything said by the others. Silent in the middle of all those loud speaking strangers, Edrik wondered who was the kid there. Hopefully, Fallon finally rose her hand to have everyone's attention.

Her speech was brief but clear. She did not give any interesting details about the trip, but anyway, Edrik had already decreted that he would learn a lot during this new adventure. He was the first to answer, with his usual angelic face.

"I'm in Fallon. I will help you as much as I can."

Edrik did not know how useful he could be in the middle of all those stronger and wiser adults, but he did not care. He had always found a way to become indispensable.
