"Thank you." They both actually said it but Ricky was more subtle with his words, he felt at ease being close to Telion and couldn't keep from his hearty smile showing. Clearly it was obvious to the naked eye, this couple was in love with one another. Yet if Kendhl observed closely when Ricky would glance down at Telion, she could see just how deep that love was for just a moment. Insuperable feelings could be traced that all just came from her, because of Telion Ricky felt more then happy. He felt as though he were whole, a fragment of something empty unified with its missing piece to create a world of passion. That was what he felt when he was with her, and it was because the deep stare he would give he avoided eye contact with others.

Ricky's curiosity only grew further however when Kendhl said she lived alone, she had a mother and a father well enough but it was apparently just her in her own place. "Kinda like I was, alone for a while until I met Odis." He remembered the days he spent thinking his father had died, lost at sea due to a wicked storm that eventually hit Zeltiva. "Aw, well I'm glad you enjoy it. I'm surprised you don't get lonely." Telion assumed Kendhl didn't feel so alone, but that was mostly because the girl had shown nothing but cheerful energy the whole time they've talked. Her spirits seemed to be so high nothing could break it so easily, but this was more so an assumption on the couples part. When Kendhl told them a bit about her place, Telion's brow furrowed curiously as she tried to imagine a cottage at first. It wasn't until she mentioned a cave and tunnels they realised she lived in a cavern of a sorts. "Oh. That sounds... lovely." She chuckled a bit confused as to why a human would live in a cave, Ricky on the other hand had just enough information on what he needed to make his assumption.

" Barefoot, exceptionally cheery personality, longer teeth, no real explaination on her parents other then her pa, lives in a cavern that deals with high tide..." He thought about it hard for a moment, his look at Kendhl one of intrigue as his assumption finally came out. "Yer Kelvic aren't ya?" He pointed out with a slight smirk, he watched Kendhl closely to see how she would react.

Killing The Craves

"Aw, well I'm glad you enjoy it. I'm surprised you don't get lonely."

"Well, sometimes it does get a tad boring. If there's a lightning storm and it's high tide, I get scared. Lightning's struck the water in my cave before, and everything smelled burnt. I'm way more careful now."

Telion sounded confused, and smelled confused too. If only humans could see her home. It was gorgeous. Ricky was thinking, she could see that easily. He looked funny to her, and she giggled.

"Yer Kelvic aren't ya?"

"Yes sir, I am! An otter one at that. Did I not tell you? Silly me."

She stood, catching a look of love that passed between the two. A pang of jealousy stabbed her heart, her perpetual grin faltering for a split second and her eyes turning stormy, but she returned to her usual self and the corners of her mouth flicked up again. Just in case either of them had noticed, she clasped her hands behind her back and rocked on her heels.

"How long have you been a Wave Guard, Mr. Maze?"

Enough about her, now onto them.

She admitted her place did get a bit boring being alone, as well as the fact lightning storms were dangerous when high tides in. This brought an astonished look to Telion's face when she heard this. However when Ricky pointed out the assumption she was Kelvic everything made sense to Telion, thus a surprised smile came to her face as Kendhl admitted it. "Just as I thought then." He exhaled with an eased smile on his face as he knelt a bit to lower himself to Telion, head rested on her shoulder as Kendhl asked him how long he had been a Wave Guard. "Me? I've been part o' the Guard since late Autumn last year, gave the initiation a shot and passed with almost no trouble." He remembered that day when he swam through the cold depths of the sea to reach the rock, his right hand wasn't happy with him as it was still recovering at the time from the night his dog died. Of course now he had the occasional pain flares dead center of his hand to deal with, but that's what happens when you punch a man out of pure anger until your hand is broken.

"I joined for good reason though, s'why I didn't give up when I faced the initiation. Still didn't help the fact I was in a dark place though." His smile faded a bit but Telion brought a hand up to Ricky's face as she used her other hand to hold Fenvur up still, the kitten had eaten about six bites of the fish now and still chowed away. Ricky's smile returned when Telion's hand reached his cheek, a quick look to Ricky as she spoke.

"You were in a dark place, but things are better for you now." She pointed out with a gentle smile, her gaze returned to their socialite when she finished this, and Ricky straightened back up with arms wrapped around Tel once more.

"Damn right," he laughed a bit, "I've got me a fiance and unborn baby t' take care of." He cheered excitedly with a wide smile, there was no trace of sadness left in his expression now. "I've not met mamy Kelvics but the few I have known were interestin' in their own way. I wondered the possibility at first, but didn't want to jump to conclusions so soon." He explained with a humble attitude to Kendhl, a look down to Fenvur as Telion held him with two hands again. He adored the kitten more than he would've anticipated, admittedly when he thought himself a dog person Fenvur quickly became attached to him as well. He was glad that he took the kitten home once he found him.

Killing The Craves

Postby Kendhl Pilkvist on July 29th, 2013, 4:52 pm

Interesting... Late Fall, last year, so that'd make him... Kendhl applied what little math she knew. Three seasons. He must've been a good swimmer, passing with little to no trouble. He joined for good reason... Didn't give up? Interesting. His smile had faded just a tad, but Telion put a hand on his cheek and it returned, full power. She liked these two.

"That's good that things are better for you, Mr. Maze."

Gently she petted Fenvur's little head and giggled. Ricky had straightened up again, and said something about his fiance and child. Kendhl's mind was elsewhere, somewhere stormy. Her eyes were obviously darker, faded to a grey instead of a silvery paleness. The smile was gone, too. She was petting Fenvur absent-mindedly, with a motion that seemed more automatic. He had mentioned something about not meeting many Kelvics and them being interesting, but not wanting to jump to conclusions. Something like that. Kendhl quietly chuffed, brow furrowed and look blank. She grasped at the memory, but couldn't hold onto it. It was like trying to catch smoke. Shrugging the feeling off, her countenance brightened with another smile.

"Is that so? Very interesting. What does one have to do to become a Wave Guard, if I may ask? Do they have anything against Kelvics joining? I think an otter would be useful. I can hold my breath for much longer than a human in my animal form."

She scratched Fenvur's chin, breaking off a piece of fish and gently placing it in his mouth.

Ricky chuckled when Kendhl remarked on how things had turned around for him. "Things are very good." He managed to say in the midst of his chuckle, "Thanks for agreein'." His genuine smile was more so directed to her now, he had to admit Kendhl was quite exceptionally positive. Yet she began to seem distant in their conversation, as though her mind became occupied with something she prefer to hide. Yet she still seemed to pay attention mostly, Fenvur being the adorable distraction he was it was hard for Ricky to tell. She did however seem genuinely interested in the Wave Guard, enough to possibly try and join herself if given the chance. This intrigued Ricky even more, thus his answer was ever so enthusiastic.

"Aye they aren't prone to pure racism I believe, I know of a Kelvic that did join once but I've not seen him in some time." His thoughts recollected back to Ethan, he was once an acquaintance to Ricky but the time apart just made him feel distant. He knew not where the Kelvic had gone though. "Generally bein' part o' the Guard requires on knowin' how to defend themselves weapon and no weapon, but in order to be recruited as a Guard ya need to be a good swimmer. The initiation test requires ya to swim out to a rock that's pretty good distance from the docks." He explained with a delighted tone of voice. He wondered if Kendhl might be good with any type of weapon, and if she knew how to use her fists in fights as well. Generally those were the requirements to be a proper guard, but if didn't know how to fight the best way to go was to in fact learn. He wouldn't suggest it though, not until he knew for sure if she could or could not fight. Thus he watched her response with interest, blue eyed focused on her face more then anything. Telion was only listening to the conversation now, her attention more directed at Fenvur as he ate away at the fish.

Killing The Craves

So a Kelvic had been in the Guard before. That was nice to know. She wasn't well-versed in any form of fighting, but she was savage with her claws and teeth. Swimming out to a rock would prove to be no challenge at all, unless they wouldn't let her change into her otter form. She knew her human form was less compatible with the water, but she was still strong enough to get out there.

"Another Kelvic? Was he aquatic, too? I'm not that best of a fighter, but I can sure hunt underwater easily. I can fend off something with my teeth and claws, but it's pretty difficult if it's bigger than me. Would they mind if I swam in my otter form? 'Cause if they do, I'm able to do it in my human form as well. What d'you do, anyways?"

She was definitely considering the Guard as a possible means of income, but she wasn't sure what they did. They might be glad to have an otter Kelvic in their ranks. They were called the Wave Guard, after all.

"I honestly don't know lass, I never seen em in his animal form." He answered with a shrug as he hadn't recalled anything specific of Ethan, he hardly knew the man after all so it was only to be expected. "As f'r the initiation, I think ye'll have to take it in human form. That would only be fair for the others that've tried after all." He pointed out with a humble attitude as he explained. "As a Wave Guard were charged with protectin' the city and keepin' the peace, we've patrols we follow so it helps to know yer way around the city. There are some cases where its best to know how to defend yerself with and without the weapon, because we do in fact get shady people we've to deal with. I'd be happy to train ya if ye find yerself interested in tryin' out, and ya gotta go to the Lord o' Council offices and talk to the Guard Captian if ya wish to try out." He finished with a nod as his arms loosened from Telion, he looked down at Fenvur as she had been and noticed the kitten had stopped eating.

"Are you done little baby? Did you eat your fill?"" Telion cheered at the kitten, who looked up to her with wide playful eyes. "Meow!" Telion gave Fenvur a kiss on the head and looked at the fish, not all too sure what to do with it now that the kitten ate his fill. "He says 'I'm full!'"" She looked up to Ricky with a sprightly smile, and then Ricky chuckled as he looked to Kendhl.

"Would ye like... to've the fish back?" He modestly hesitated when he asked because he wasn't sure if she wanted the fish or if it were better to be tossed. It seemed like a waste to toss it but also rather odd to ask someone if they wanted leftovers of their fish back. Her being Kelvic made Ricky unsure if she would take it or not, but there was plenty of the fish left after Fenvur was done with it.

Killing The Craves

She figured she'd have to stay in human form. She didn't mind. Defending the city, keeping the peace, et cetera, et cetera, et cetera. The same blabber. She didn't know how to defend herself with or without a weapon. She just chased and caught her food. Kendhl smiled at the offer of training with Ricky. He seemed like he'd be a good teacher. He definitely had the look of a Wave Guard. Powerful, strong, whichever word you'd like. The kitten had stopped eating.

"Are you done little baby? Did you eat your fill?"

Telion cooed at the kitten, then kissed him on the head.

"He says 'I'm full!'"

Ricky asked if she wanted the fish back. 'Course she did, she loved fish. Kendhl nodded and smiled, then took a bite of the fish. It had that certain ocean taste that all seafood had. Definitely fresh, and delicious. She chewed, eyes wide and attentive. Swallowing, the girl asked another question.

"Would you mind helping me try out? I've lived here a while, but I'm not sure where everything is."

"Bleh!" Ricky wanted to just frown and drop his tongue in disgust when he watched Kendhl take a bite, his imagination kicked in with the horrid taste of raw fish as it rolled over his tongue. It was a thought he didn't find appealing. Nevertheless he held a easy smile in place to avoid from doing so, Telion giggled a bit when she glanced up to Ricky. She knew what went through his mind, and she found it rather entertaining to say the least. "I'm happy to give ya a run 'round o' the city but ye gotta learn the city f'r yer self more than anythin', as for trainin' I can only help give pointers to get ya started. It'll be up to ye to decide what to do from there." He humbly assured her with a more content smile on his face now. Telion let out a yawn as she leaned in closer to Ricky, and then rested her head on his chest as he looked down to her with a chuckle. "Time f'r a nap?" She only nodded with eyed that already looked drowsy, and with a gentle smile she sighed as she petted Fenvur lazily. The kitten purred away as he too was happy, happy with a full belly and ready for his own nap.

"Hate to cut our meetin' short lass, but we're kinda feelin' tired enough for a nap." His turn to yawn came next, out of nowhere he just couldn't hold it back while he held Telion close. "We better get home 'fore we end up nappin' on the street." He joked with a chuckle. He honestly wasn't sure how he could feel drowsy, maybe it was the heat of the day. Or maybe it was all part of his weird experience with the pregnancy, either way he too was affected by all of this. Thus their meeting had to come to a parting.

"It was nice meeting you Kendhl." Telion complimented with a slight bow once more, she and Ricky waved to Kendhl for farewell and when their parting passed the couple returned home for the nap all three needed.

Ooc :
If you wish to follow through in joining the Wave Guard then pm me as Cloud and we can further discuss it there. :) Feel free to post a closing post for Kendhl as well and we can consider this thread wrapped up and done. Good work!

Kendhl nodded in understanding, beginning the walk back to the docks. She turned to look back at them and waved.

"Please t'meet you too, Miss Telion and Mr. Maze!"

The Kelvic grinned, knowing she had made the aquaintance of someone who could be a friend in time.
