There was a pause as they walked, Kane taking note of the lack of conversation for a few moments, the two young women probably thinking something of the other... odd these two. Though soon came a low whisper from Armesi, "She reeks of fear.. do I come across as dangerous? I assure you I am most definitely not..." Well, Kane managed to barricade the thoughts inside of his mind, not allowing them to emerge from beyond his lips, you do look quite imposing, and you do strike me as dangerous... He only replied, his whisper only a tad louder than her own,

"We'll talk at the glassworks." Having turned his head only the slightest amount to speak to Armesi, he turned back, offering a quick glance at Maya before turning back to the path ahead, gesturing for the small party to take a intersecting street, opting for a right turn which would lead almost directly to both the glass and the ironworks, give or take a couple of blocks distance. In an answer to his question Armesi spoke again, Kane listening for anything he might know of,

"Well... I'm here to learn what I can of my skills, and move on to the darker reaches of Mizahar. You know, the forbidden lands of blood-money, necromancy, and war. I figure if I learn all that I can in the lands of peace first, I'll be able to defend myself while hunting the kings that rule the lands of evil."

"Those are rough places," Kane responded, sighing as he paused, "I don't know if one like yourself would want to go there, the wilderness is already a challenge enough..." ... that and someone like yourself wouldn't be too welcome in Sunberth... or might you? "Still, perhaps our goals aren't too different. I came to Syliras hoping to gain entry to the Order, and I may yet still."

Maya glared sideways at Armeshi whispering to Kane, and he whispering back, wondering what they could be talking about. Kane whispered louder than she, and she could barely hear the word "glassworks." Probably just talking about where they were going. No, she knew that already. Probably asking where it is, so she can go after hours, and find you there...

"Well... I'm here to learn what I can of my skills, and move on to the darker reaches of Mizahar. You know, the forbidden lands of blood-money, necromancy, and war. I figure if I learn all that I can in the lands of peace first, I'll be able to defend myself while hunting the kings that rule the lands of evil." She'd be right at home there, Thought Maya.

"Those are rough places," responded Kane, sighing. "I don't know if one like yourself would want to go there, the wilderness is already a challenge enough..." Are you kidding? Of course she would want to go there! Unknown to Maya, Kane was having similar thoughts. "Still, perhaps our goals aren't too different. I came to Syliras hoping to gain entry to the Order, and I may yet still." She knew Kane wanted to be a Knight, and talk of the familiar somewhat calmed her. Maybe she's not all that bad... Just... Misunderstood...

Armesi Rulf

"Let the unkown warn you, the myths caution you, and
the known inspire you."

Stopping in her steps, Armesi paused thought. Grabbing Roth's shoulder, she spoke.

“I forgot something, I'll meet you two at the glass works.. I've got to go, sorry.” She explained

In reality she wasn't coming back, but she didn't have the heart to say as much. She had other plans, and well she could always find her new friends again easy enough.

“I forgot something, I'll meet you two at the glass works... I've got to go, sorry.”

A not-so-soft hand having placed itself on his shoulder, Kane could feel a chill descend down his spine as she spoke, not a chill one felt when threatened, but just when something seemed... off. Still Armesi made her quick departure, whether or not she'd return having yet to be seen, and turning to watch her depart, Kane mused under his breath, not intending for Maya to hear, "Wonder where she's off to..." Sighing as he finished, he looked about, resuming the pace to the glassworks, he tried to shift the subject back to what he was pursuing earlier, "Maya, was there a reason you were so worked up earlier?" Blinking as he finished, slightly dissatisfied with the way it sounded, "Well... why you were so eager to be off."

Armeshi paused, grabbing Kane's shoulder. Maya anticipated attack, but realized different, when she said;

“I forgot something, I'll meet you two at the glass works.. I've got to go, sorry.” Just like that, Maya saw her 30 Gold Mizas floating off into the distance, disappearing into an Alleyway. She sighs, and the two continue walking.

"Wonder where she's off to..." Said Kain, probably not for Maya's ears, though she was closer now, and could hear. She decided to act as if she didn't, thinking that may be best. Avoid conversation. He's too perceptive. He might ask you-

"Maya, was there a reason you were so worked up earlier? Well... why you were so eager to be off?"

-about what happened last night. She sighs, looking up at Kane.

"You really wish to know?" She asks, though she already knew the answer.

Maya answered his question with another question, a practice that often annoyed Kane, though now it failed to do such, Kane too curious to really care about such things. Approaching the glassworks, Kane slowed his pace, hoping to allow more time for conversation as he answered Maya's counter-question, "I asked, didn't I?" Something had to happen, that much was obvious as Armesi had pointed out, she had the smell of fear about her, of course she was much younger than he, and she lived in Syliras, not Sunberth. Still, perhaps she'd bother to answer him, if not... well, perhaps a question for another time.

"I asked, didn't I?" Kane answered her question to his question with yet another question. Something she tried using to dodge the primary question, yet her attempts failed, and she was stuck with the backfire.

"Yes, you did..." Seeming not to continue, in fact Maya was thinking. Deeply. About last night. About what could have happened...

"I went out to the Bathhouse, last night, because I do not like being sweaty. I attempted to open the door, but it was locked. But, in fact, it was an apartment, and not the Baths. A large burly man answered, and he... Well, needless to say, I tried to explain myself, but he... A knight interceded when I ran away, and he tried to follow me. He might have saved my life, and I know not even his name. Should've reported him... He probably got away with it... Might be doing something now... I was frightened I might see him this morning, but I didn't. Well, I did, but he did not see me. I would rather not make a big deal with it, if it's alright with you. Don't want to attract the attention of any criminal minds who are good enough to evade the Knights." Her manner of speaking was rushed, she didn't allow him to interrupt for any questions or to interject with any thoughts he may have had. When she completed her story, she sighed, and looked around her. They were in a bustling street, almost directly in front of the Glassworks. Well, at least I need not talk to him about this anymore.

Standing opposite of the glassworks, Kane took in the story as Maya relayed it, thinking over most of the content with a slightly furrowed brow. A situation Kane had not anticipated, though he knew there to be something wrong he didn't expect something along these lines, still it really wasn't any of Kane's business. Maya's doings were her own, and he was sure from the way she finished she didn't desire his opinions on the matter. Kane sighed nasally as she finished, Kane looked to the glassworks and then to Maya, speaking as he did, "Here we are... Don't suppose you need me anymore then?"

"Here we are... Don't suppose you need me anymore then?" Kane asked, looking from the glassworks to Maya. Not need him? Too late for that.

"Uhm... Not today, no, I think I can find my way back, if you wish to leave..." Yet another man abandoning you. Yet another man coming into your life and then leaving it again, as suddenly as- No. This is not the same. He'll be around. Besides, father had to go... I understand that now... I don't hold it against him... If he hadn't gone, he would have been gone for good. No, it was better that way. It is better that way.

"Uhm... Not today, no, I think I can find my way back, if you wish to leave..."

It began to seem as if she was tiring of his company, and that Kane could understand, he wasn't exactly happenin' company, though she left the statement open. Perhaps it was an invitation, and then again perhaps it wasn't. Still, Kane decided to bite the bullet, he thought for a moment how to ask, and soon did, "Do you want me to leave?" The question was rather straightforward, egged on mostly by curiosity, but Kane was a very straightforward person, beating around the bush never appealing to him.
