It was going to be a fun day, the tiny Endal could feel it in her soul. It was a rich sensation that rippled through her body and came out through her fingers and toes. It had been a rainy season at best, and it seemed that the worse was yet to come with the storms approaching. However even in this, the hopeful teen was excited about the day. She had been made Endal some time ago, but this was one of the first brakes she had gotten, and also after she had finally moved all of her stuff from her old home and into the new spacious aerie.

Alori laid still, her small frame suspended, floating in place only inches below the water inside her large bath. It was to be a day of fun, a rockin party, and she wanted to get a good bath in before everyone showed up. There was a smile on her face even as she was submerged under water, anticipation on high as the girl imagined the fun that was to come. She had invited her friends mostly, and a few others that she had recently met that season. It was a chance to party with her friends again, and to get to know the others better.

Once she was done soaking, Alori swam her way to the end of the pool and climbed out. She paused a moment as she stood up, and gently pulled the clumps of wet red hair away from her eyes and over her ears so that she could hear. There was a tinkering sound in the distance, a soft melody being played upon glass objects. It was Durveth, her mount and Wind eagle. She really did enjoy music, and was always in the mood to hear Alori's newest tunes, or to make her own with her chimes. Who would have thought that such a seriously finicky and unpredictable bird would enjoy music so much. She truly was a unique brand of eagle.

After drying off, Alori headed out of the bathing chamber and towards her bedroom to find something to wear. The was a lightness in her step, and the teen hummed softly as she went. A tune that Durveth would remember very fondly. It was almost time for the others to arrive and she couldn't wait to start the party.

Vira remembered when Alori told her about the party. It had been that far too funny night that they'd had the unexpected sleep-over and Kovac had come home early. It was really quite fun, the whole confusion that'd happened and all. And she'd told Kovac about Alori's invitation later the next day, along with Azira. Though the huntress and young Endal were still tense around each other, they had settled the unease in favor of comraderie. Vira even offered the woman a ride to hunting destinations from time to time!

But now it was the night of the party and the bell was approaching. Vira had taken a nice long soak to loosen her muscles up and ensure that she'd be able to actually enjoy the social event more than she might otherwise, especially after the awful season they'd had. When she finally did leave the bath, she felt quite relaxed and ready for some fun. It was rare that she treated herself like this, rare that she accompanied Kovac on his revelries, places like the Inclement making her very uncomfortable, but the weather instability making it hard to go to the Bay for a private night at the Clam. Of course, when they did get a personal night, it was always enjoyed through and through. Just like tonight was going to be, Vira was determined.

With a towel wrapped around her, she left the wash chamber for the bedroom and began digging for an outfit in the back of the closet, tongue in cheek as she searched. She pulled the one that she had worn last season to the Inclement out, a simple garb, really, but not one she wanted to wear. Then she grabbed the one she'd bought with Alori at the start of summer. That too did not appeal. Eventually, her hand fell on the hangar of an outfit she honestly forgot she'd had. It had been bought a few days before she'd been drug to the Inclement by Alori mid-season, purchased on a whim and then stashed away under the premise she might never actually wear it. It was far too expose for her liking even if it wasn't all THAT revealing. Chewing the inside of her lip, she looked around to see if Kovac (who should have been getting ready too, if he wasn't allready) was near to look, and then stepped away from the closet.

She dressed quickly, taking advantage of the pain-free moment to get into the outfit without stress and then hurriedly toweled her hair dry. There were two accessories of the outfit that normally would have been forsaken as overkill but worked well with this outfit. The first was an anklet of white glass beads and yellow and black feathers. The second was pair of long-feathered hair attachments. The teal and green and orange adornments were woven into a few of her locks so that the quills hung to the sides of her ears (the eagle-feather band for once not worn, though Vira had had to replace the leather string after the mid-season incident).

Once it was all said and done, Vira left the bedroom and went to Mohya's nest, surprising the bird from a nap. The eagle lifted her head and let out a low whistle when she spotted her rider.

~Well don't you look fine, child. Why so dressed up? You two going out tonight?~

Heh, sort of. Alori is having a party at her home; she invited us and a few others. You don't think it's too much do you?

~Have I ever?~

Yes.

~Be that as it may, it is a fine outfit. He won't be able to keep his hands off you. And don't mind Durveth; she thinks little of my choice, but she has always been a little off since the Storm. Do you have a gift for Alori?~

Oh petch, no! I completely forgot!

~That's alright; sometimes the best present is presence. Chin up now, your man's a coming.~

Hoping to keep Kovac from looking for her in here, Mohya gave an eagle screech and hurried Vira along. If Kovac was ready, then they'd have to get a move on. It was bad form to be late!

Azira had never been to a party before. No one in someone's living quarters anyway. She'd been to the parties organised in the city for special celebrations but that was it. She'd never been invited to one before and never would have expected to be going to an Endal party.

An invitation had come out of the blue from Lavira of all people, the Endal who she had offended. They were now on good terms, so good that the woman would give her a lift to go hunting, but the invite had still been unexpected. It wasn't Lavira's party but a friend's, some new Endal called Alori. Still the huntress was looking forward to it. Sort of. She was also terrified by the prospect. A party with a group of Endal, and Kovac, but Endal! She didn't really get on with the higher caste, at least not with their men and there was a gnawing worry in her stomach that Turrin would be there or she'd offend this Alori person. She was so good at pissing them off that it was a wonder she was still alive but she didn't think she'd survive a second encounter with the half-Myrian, not after the last time.

Pushing the worry from her mind, the Avora removed her new clothing from the chest at the end of her bed and began to change. It was the outfit she'd picked out after her night in the Inclement Weather, her dressy clothes. She was glad that she had now as it meant that she had something to wear to the party that was more appropriate then her plain, grubby hunting garb.

This outfit was simple, not overly showy as she wasn't that way inclined, but it complimented her figure. The vinati was a soft, powder blue with some beading around the neckline, the straps tied behind her neck. The bryda were charcoal black, the cut seeming to add a few inches to her height and moulding to her hips and bottom to show off her shape. The girl had even bought shoes, not as sturdy as her hunting boots, but more suited to the fancy outfit. They were a soft black leather, that was surprisingly light, and decorated with little black and silver beads. To finish it off, she'd bought a silver pendant with swirling blue designs, simple but pretty and she tied that around her neck, adjusting its length until it sat snugly between her breasts.

Looking herself up and down, the teen was satisfied with her appearance. She wove ribbon through her fire red hair and attached her decorative feather to her earring. Her outfit complete, the girl set off for the Eagle Aeries a little nervously. She had no present but she hoped the girl wouldn't mind.

Rockin Out The Mountain

Postby Turrin on October 7th, 2013, 4:16 am

Picking up the invitation on the counter, Turrin looked at it and wondered why the new Endal Alori invited him to her party. He knew that he danced with her before the blue elk hunt, but he didn't realized that he made a enough of impression on her to be invited to a personal party. He figured that he would end up slipping out the door when he was basically ignore by the rest of the guests, but at least he would make a appearance, and it should be enough to be polite. Turrin knew that he had a tendency to stick out since he was taller than most Inarta his burgundy hair and tan skin was a dead giveaway that he was foreign, but as soon as they ask his race, the Inarta tend to go wide eyed and avoid him the rest of the night. He was curious if they had a absurd notion that he was going to eat them. He knew that he wasn't because they were not his enemies or enemies of Tolaba or Myri. His mother told him life was going to be hard in Wind Reach, but he didn't realize how similar the Inarta were to Myrian in regards being a xenophobic people. Setting the invitation on the counter, he went to his bathroom, picked up his razor, and started to shave. When he was finished shaving, he brushed out his shoulder length hair till it was nice and straight. When he was satisfied with his appearance, he slipped on his burgundy bryda and left his aeries.

Feeling the chill of wind through the aeries, Turrin tucked the box under his arm and walked to the Stone Crest Galley. Suddenly, he was contacted by Aponivi, “Turrin I heard both of the new Endals were good people, so try to make a good impression.” The Endal sighed and contacted back, “I always make a good impression. Besides their females, so they deserve respect.” Turrin heard a mental groan from the wind eagle and said softly, “I mean you need to lighten up and get into the mood of the party. Sometimes, you can be rigid as stone. This behavior might be acceptable in Toloba, but I think you would have more fun embracing your Inarta side.” The Myrian was silent as he contemplated what the wind eagle said and quickly commented, “I tried being sociable once at the Kitchen, and I got a soup bowl thrown at me by a crazy woman and got punched in jaw by one of my former friends...” Feeling a bout of sadness as he walked down the warren when he thought of his friendship with Samen. However, he knew that he did the right thing saving the young woman from his sick whims, and it cost him the respect earned by years of sacrifice by him.

Turrin relationship with Samen never recovered from the fight in the kitchen over the Avora, and Samen turned it into a hostile rivalry between them. The rest of the Endals were starting to wonder when they were going to challenge each other with knives and talon swords. He hoped it wouldn't come to it, but he was challenged to a duel to the death. He would back down from the fight. Knowing the wind eagle could read his thoughts and feeling, Aponivi said softly, “I know it is hard, but you can't give up on the Inarta either.” When he made to the door, he gave the door a couple of quick knocks. Feeling another cool breeze wipe through the aeries, he crossed his arms, waited for Alori to come, and mentally contacted to Aponivi, “If I was going to give up on the Inarta, I would have left Wind Reach for Tolaba years ago.” Turrin knew if he was ever rejected by Wind Reach. He would return to Tolaba and honor his mother and sister properly in the clan catacombs and join the ranks in the Goddess-Queens armies. He missed his father's lands terribly, but he loved Wind Reach as much as Tolaba, so he would always try for the love of both his mother and Aponivi.

Rockin Out The Mountain

Postby Kovac on October 8th, 2013, 3:10 pm

Kovac had slipped in to the Ivory Aerie, not seeing Lavira. He had gone straight to the baths from the range, knowing Vira would be getting ready, and avoiding the temptation of a mutual bathing in the aerie that would delay their departure. His olive-hued skin had been washed of the grime of the Bent Arrow, raven hair rinsed of dust. Kovac did not have much in the way of adornment, even for special events like a party. He was clad in a clean black bryda, leather ankle boots, and his black leather sontav. His ever present knife belt was cinched around his waist, though it to had been cleaned of workday dirt. A single silver earring adorned his right ear. He was bare chested, though his katinu had been shaken out and would be taken with him.

Eyes pealed for the ill-tempered Tulaj, Kovac looked in the bed chamber, saw the evidence of Lavira's preparations, but not the woman. Moving again to the central room, his eyes cast towards Mohya's aerie. A sharp screech resounded from the entrance way, ensuring the Avora would not venture into the eagle's chamber to find the Endal. Such a venture proved unecessary, as Lavira walked into the room from the aerie.

Kovac's jaw dropped open. Lavira was beautiful to him, but he had only seen her in simpler work clothes, or casual wear around the aerie. But the outfit she had donned for the party revealed a woman he had yet to see. The garment was revealing yet tasteful, festive and exotic, and Lavira looked amazing in it. A loud whistle blew between Kovac's pursed lips as he eyed his lover overtly head to toe and back.

"Lavira, you look petching gorgeous!" Kovac declared, his enthusiasm coloring his compliment. He strolled over to the young Endal, taking one of her slight hands in his and stepping back, holding their arms out between them as he again examined her, even spinning her around to get a full view. "I am not so sure I want to leave now!" He teased, pulling her close, wrapping his arms around her waist and planting a big kiss on her lips. "I suppose we better go, while we can." The Avora winked at the rider, took up the lute resting against the wall by the door and lead her by the hand out of the aerie and down the corridor to Alori's home. Once arriving before their friend's door, Kovac gave Lavira another grin and rapped on the opening.

To say that Aose had heard about the party from a little bird wasn't an entire lie. The birds did talk amongst themselves, twittering and singing their rumor mills amongst their kin. It was a party thrown by an Endal. Aose was excited, she had only meet one other Endal a few years ago and was invited for a private conversation in her Aerie. It was an honor that Aose hadn't forgotten.

The yasi though had planned originally to spend the day at the ranges, her bow and quiver of arrows already slung on her shoulder, but this was a chance of the lifetime! She was going to do what the other Yasis always claim they have done, but Aose knew otherwise, they were full of birdshyke. With Siilark perched innocently on her shoulder Aose had made her way to the Aerie, seeing both two people before her she gasped and paused, awaiting a period of a few steps to follow before she followed them.

The two people were familiar to the young girl, Lavira and Kovac. Damnit. Now what? The grimace that followed her thoughts was visible and she grumbled loudly before clamping a hand over her mouth and ducking into a crevice in the wall before she could get caught. Stupid!

They are holding hands! Are they together? Or are they just taking precautions? Aose leaned out of her hiding spot before creeping past behind them in a slow walk. Not crouching to make it obvious Aose just followed their motions, stopping and ducking where she could possibly hide without hopes she wasn't noticeable, when they turned sideways, stopped, or otherwise would've caught her.

This was one party she wasn't invited too. They stopped at an aerie and knocked at the opening, Aose remained in her small crevice hiding spot and waited.

OOCCrashing the party! Was “invited” by PM. Heh

Rockin Out The Mountain

Postby Alori Sai on October 13th, 2013, 7:37 am

Everything was set and ready, Alori had seen too the preparations for a bit of food and drink for everyone and had it set up in the spacious common room. Scented candles were lit, glass wares were set into alcoves and on the table top to give the place more. In the distance, a soft chiming continued to ring as Durveth played her own music in anticipation for what Alori had promised her. All that was left to figure out was her outfit. The teen first sat on the end her of bed with a 10 oz bottle of peach lotion and rubbed it into her skin. It was a new scent she was trying and figured now was a good time to test it out.

Once she was finished, and her skin faintly shined in the light, she stepped over to her wardrobe and flung out the doors in search of an outfit. This proved a bit more tricky. In her closet were outfits they she'd worn, those she'd only worn once or twice, and one in the middle that she hadn't touched yet. It was her party, but she was also staying at home with just a few of her friends coming over. It was a big deal becoming Endal, but she wasn't sure if the at home event, was big enough for her to wear the newest of her outfits.

Alori shrugged, and rolled her tongue between her teeth as she pulled the new outfit off the rack at held it up to her nude form. She nodded and shrugged her shoulders again, a party was a party after all. There was a rattle of chimes suddenly, and she knew exactly what that meant. Durveth was getting impatient and wanted to hear music. "They'll be here very soon. I promise, it won't be much longer." A screech echoed off the walls this time, and the teen just shook her head. "You know, you could have invited your sister. I think she really likes me, and she might would have enjoyed being here with us."

She wouldn't get a sound now, not even a mental grumble. With the home once again in silence, Alori dressed herself in the new garments and stood before the mirror to have a look. She turned left, then right, back around and to the front again. Placing her hands on her hips, she now wondered if it was too dressy, and if everyone else dressed casually, she would really look too dolled up. There wasn't time to change again however, a knock at the door of the first to arrive at her home.

Alori stepped lightly, to the front door and opened it to find Lavira and Kovac waiting. "Vira, hey." she smiled and pulled her sister into a hug, before standing back to look at her outfit. "Wow you look completely amazing! I love that outfit." The teen sighed mentally, overjoyed that she hadn't over done her dressings, and that her best friend was also dressed for a real party. " Hey Kovac, so what do you guys think?" she asked, taking a step back to let them in, but also to see her full outfit. With a bright smile, she took their hands and led them both into the common area where they could sit and eat if they were hungry. On the table they would find dried meats, such as beef, bread and sweet rolls, along with water and broths.

"Oh Kovac, you haven't had a tour yet. Come on."

Another knock at the door caused the teen to stop and return to the door again. Azira had arrived, a young woman that Alori hadn't gotten to know yet. But it was Lavira who spoke highly of her and that was enough for little huntress. "Hey, come on in." she said, her eyes bright and her smile genuine. Another had arrived dressed nicely and it made her happy that everyone had the same ideas. Leading Azira inside, she regrouped with the others to talk a bit more. "Kovac you poor thing. What are you going to do with all these pretty girls around?" Folding her arms, the young Endal waited for his snarky retort.

Not a moment later, and there was another knock at the room. Alori spun off her heels and returned to the door to greet the last person she invited, Turrin. Opening the door, she looked up at the tall, brawny man in front of her, and waved him inside. "Come in, I'm glad you could make it. There's food and drinks if you want it. I think you're the last person coming, everyone else is already here."

Her cheeks colored to his compliment, the one-eyed huntress looking away until he took her hand and spun her to get a good view of the olive and emerald outfit only to pull her in for a kiss and merry words. "You don't think it's too much? What if she's expecting casual, I'm going to be so overdressed. Maybe I should go change..." But he wouldn't have allowed it as he grabbed his lute and they left the aerie. Vira called back to Tulaj, warning him to behave, and then likewise left.

Vira had the weirdest sense of being watched as they walked down the corridor to her sisters home, the hem of the split bryda trailing the floor and flashing the pale ankles wrapped in sandals. When they reached Alori's home, the teen stopped and frowned, looking over her shoulder, as if expecting someone to be standing there watching them; however, nothing stood out..except the tip of a shoe in an alcove. Weird. Turning back, Vira gave Kovac a grin in return and leaned up and in for a quick kiss before Alori could open the door.

But that unnerving sense would not abate and afterwards, she looked over her shoulder once more. That was when she spotted the glint of red in the flickering light of a brazier. Someone was over there! Puh, it's probably nothing, though. Maybe some other Endal who hasn't made it to their home yet with their evening catch. The thought made her shudder in disgust and turn quickly when the door opened and presented Alori.

As if in tandem, Vira sighed inwardly as well, glad to see her friend had dressed up too. "Alori! Love the outfit." She leaned into the hug, squeezing her colleague and sister tight, then holding her at arms length. "Did you get it recently? You should've said something, maybe we could've gone together." Though the chances would have been slim with how much work all the hunters of the city were doing lately. Most simply hadn't the time.

Sliding in and turning, movement beyond the door caught her attention once again, and this time Vira was positive they had been watched en route to the party, but the door closed too quickly. She managed only to get enough of a look at the young girl peeking out from an alcove, and boy was she surprised by who it was.

Alori wanted to show Kovac around so Vira slipped away to see how Skye was, the onery gyrfalcon having been handled a little when her sister brought him over a few days previously. She smiled at the bird, clucking her tongue kindly but not offering him a finger to beak. The door knocked again and admitted was Azira, Vira grinning at the other huntress and waving. "Hey, Azira, I'm glad you could come." Before Alori could go back to her touring and chit-chatting, though, Vira slid up beside her and placed a hand between her shoulderblades, whispering something in her ear.

"There's a Yasi out there, you know. Saw her a few paces back, in an alcove, when we came inside. Why don't you invite her in?"

What she didn't say was who she suspected the face to be, nor what she would suggest the girl be let to do at the party she hadn't been invited to.

Kovac barely noted Lavira's furtive glances back down the hallway, enjoying the stolen kiss before Alori's door opened and the new Endal welcomed the couple. After the girls hugged, Vira and Kovac stepped inside. Alori fished for a compliment, which Kovac was more than willing to provide. He whistled as Alori stepped back to present a full view of her garb, the outfit as festive and sexy as Lavira's. He shot his lover a wry smile before looking back to Alori. "Such temptresses you Endal are, what is a hapless Avora to do?!" Kovac stepped forward to press a kiss to Alori's cheek. She had become a fast friend, and like a sister to Lavira, and any playful flirting between Kovac and Alori was understood to be tongue in cheek.

Before the promised tour could ensue, another knock rapped at the door, and Azira was admitted into the aerie. The young Avora huntress was something of a quandary still to Kovac, the dynamic between them often volatile. But the atmosphere that evening was to be relaxation and fun, and he hoped they could become better friends. She wore an outfit less exotic than Vira and Alori, but she looked nice all the same, her vinati and bryda accentuating her attractive form. He greeted Azira with a wave as the girls welcomed her to the party. Alori, of course, made a teasing taunt at Kovac about the ratio of young women to men at the party, and he was ready to retort with a wry comment when someone again knocked at the door. Alori answered, and the odds tilted one more towards a balance when Turrin walked in. Kovac laughed, "Well, looks like now I have to share. Hi Turrin."

The half-myrian was as curious a being as Kovac had come across. He did not know the man well, but the few encounters he had revealed very plainly that the rider was not raised in Wind Reach. His mannerisms were strange, his accent heavy, and his behavior sometimes stiff. Turrin was strange, and wondered what had inspired Alori to invite him to her party.

Azira was extremely nervous. As she approached the Aeries where Alori lived, she saw Lavira and Kovac disappearing through the door. The sight gave her pause. She'd only just made peace with Lavira and hadn't really had much interaction with her since and as a result she was uneasy around her. As for Kovac, he seemed to bring out the very worst in the huntress and she wasn't keen to come into contact with him again. This evening was supposed to be fun, not tense and filled with sharp retorts. Steeling herself, she closed the remaining distance and rapped on the wood.

There was only a brief pause before the door swung open to reveal Alori. Glancing at both her and Lavira she felt extremely underdressed but then she wouldn't have been able to pull off such a sexy outfit so it was probably for the better that she'd worn something simple. She smiled shyly at the Endal who she didn't know very well.

The greeting the huntress received wasn't cold or false. Alori's smile was genuine and Lavira seemed happy to see her going so far as to say that she was glad that she could come. The Avora stepped in, feeling her cheeks warm a little at the attention she was receiving, small though it was, and nodded in acknowledgement of the greetings, including Kovac's casual wave.

The huntress didn't know quite what to do with herself. She  stood beside the door, feeling awkward at the easy banter that passed between the two Endals and the hunter. Another knock on the door interrupted their talk and in strode Turrin.

Petch! Not him! she cursed silently.

Now she was in a room with three people that she'd had some animosity towards in the past and one person she didn't really know. Well this wasn't going to be awkward at all. She murmured a quiet hello to the half-Myrian and willed herself to vanish. Hopefully someone would do something to help her settle in.
