I have been thinking a LOT about everything that is going on in Lhavit. Specifically what I have been doing, and what my next steps are. In a way what I am doing here feels a lot like shopping for shoes. Do you know that feeling where you find that one pair that is just awesome. Looks great, good price, and you think it is going to be the best thing in the world. Then you try it on and walk around in it for a little bit and you find out it cramps your toes, is too narrow and all in all is not right for you at all. This is what I feel like I am doing in Lhavit right now. As I am writing down my ideas they FEEL great, awesome, inspired, etc. Then I walk around in these 'shoes' for a minute, let it settle in, and I realize its not really a good fit.
I have once more edited the Atlas and the Wizard register, basically back to what it was or at least close to it. I have been putting way too much focus on magic in the city, and if you all remember my main goal was to bring Lhavit AWAY from magic as much as possible. But making mages wear patches? Giving them their own magic zones? Its like putting up a huge sign that says 'hey all you mages i made you a home RIGHT HERE'. Thats not what I want, and its not what I feel is right for the city. So I have changed it back a bit. By law wizards must register, thats how it has always been. If you use magic in a way that is not permitted, such as in the streets, your punishment will be more severe if you have NOT registered. So be sure to register! Jobs will still be obtained through the Cosmo Center, HOWEVER, magical related jobs WILL BE LIMITED. I will make a note of it later, but there is every likelihood that just because you have magic does not MEAN you will start off with a job USING that magic. Instead you will most likely start off in some other job, and then be given opportunities in RP to earn a job using your magical abilities. How this will work exactly I am not yet completely sure, but it is still a work in progress.
NOW with these updates done I feel like I can finally move on to something I have been wanting to do for a while now. I am going to rework the system on how you get business loans in Lhavit. For now it is safe to assume they come from the Towers collectively, but that may change as I read more. I will develop a form you can fill out and PM to me which will basically be an OOC and IC petition for a loan. This will work in conjunction with what is already in place as far as business plans go. Stay tuned for the updates, and I apologize for the sudden and very opposing changes. Next I want to not so much change what is there, but bring more emphasis to what we already have.
Sincerely yours,
Mirage
