Though he knew it was somewhat childish, Inoadar could not help but feel a bit of spiteful mirth at seeing Venser get a stout dressing-down by the leader. He had nothing truly against the man, but he DID think that Venser had jumped all too quickly on the opposite point of view the moment it became obvious that the Acolyte was not going to agree with Inoadar's.

'Tried to go with the prevailing wind and hit a little down-draft, did you?' he smirked inwardly. Outwardly though, he was all sympathy and contrition, giving an obedient nod to Lady Grey and a 'just can't win' shrug to Venser. He didn't dwell too much on the seemingly contrary attitude of the woman. Not only was this a frequent occurrence, to his experience, but he assumed the woman simply didn't want to lock herself into a pattern before she knew what they would be dealing with.

He grimaced just a bit at Miro's presumptuous remark about experience with pre-Valterian ruins, expecting a backlash from the Acolyte. But soon, he was quite sure that the whole party would agree with the mage. He might have suspected the use of hypnosis, if Miro's speculations were not right in line with his own. But he felt motivated by the woman's sharp, adversarial demeanor before, and ducked his head into the other doorway, just enough to swing the lantern around and gauge the size of the chamber.

Following the same motion, he scanned the floor just inside the threshold. If he saw no sign of a trap, he would take a pivoting step in, with an additional backward step further in to swing the crossbow up and level it at anything perched over the inside of the doorway, while he scanned the ceiling. He was not trying to undermine Miro's suggestion, he was perfectly willing to partner up with him. He just wanted to show Acolyte Grey some initiative.

If he was able to see the far parameters of the chamber, he would announce a general estimate of its size. If there were no immediate signs of anything of note, he would announce it "clear, so far as I can tell right now." If there WAS something in there, he would say so, but would not approach until he had back-up. The most innocent- looking things often held the deadliest traps.

Surprise marked itself upon the Rush twin's features as he noted the woman's sharp retort to his words. She had also defeated Nolan's suggestion, which told him that she was at a loss for what to do, and either too prideful, stupid, or both, to take suggestions at face value. Struggling to catch herself with a duo of incompetent and clearly imbecilic followers and a trio of citizens that she had no gauge of their capabilities for
(A phenomenon that can be remedied if my advice is heeded. But, she can do as she desires with her time. I will not lose my life for the mistakes of an incompetent.)

Venser erased the surprise from his features, retaining the pose of neutrality as he listened to Miro's ideas. The wizard was a capable sort and a powerful practitioner of the magical arts. And with his knowledge of this, came the distinct, off-setting assumption that there was something amiss in his words. He related the usage to the time in the Winter when he had been shouted at, the Rush twin able to feel the stirring in his stomach telling him that something was amiss. Is this... djed?

The rush twin frowned, his knowledge of a magic, one that his brother, Verin, was privy to, rising in his mind. The magic had broken Venser's chains, though in a way that was far more dangerous than beneficial. Scars on his left arm reminded him still that magic was not a toy to be used on a whim, but for a purpose and with reverence. And so, he did so. He decided to utilize the situation, the monologue that Miro was engaging in allowing Venser the opportunity to tap into the flow of his djed, pulling at the energy encased within his soul and bringing it into his mind, from where he synchronized with not the woman's aura, but with Miro's.

The process took several ticks, the words, 'I say we split our six bodies into two teams that work together. One will clear a room and ensure it is safe, the other to follow after and ensure nothing is missed.' dimly registering into his thoughts as he felt Miro's aura. Djed welled within the man's throat, reverberating from his words with each utterance, astonishment present in the Rush twin's features for just a moment before he lost his focus, unable to garner more than he had. The blonde felt mental fatigue crash over him, the young man doing his utmost to hide it, a hand rising to wipe a bead of sweat from his brow as he connected the dots between this and the magic that Verin had used in their youth.

Miro had mentioned three magics that would help him earn victory in battle. The first, from what he learned in the Winter, was manipulation over the elements, a magic that Miro had gifted to Venser in a show of trust. Control. The second was the Flux, a power Venser was already privy to, and had some experience in using. Power. Was it possible, though, that Miro could also, to whatever extent, manipulate the mind?

If Venser was right, then the wizard held far more advantage than he had originally thought. Caution was necessary when associating with him, but he disregarded it for the moment, nodding and playing the game of agreement, the more present and looming concern, the ruins, rising into his mind. The wizard's suggestion was not without merit, Venser's own suggestion able to fit into either scenario. He cared little for what group he was placed in, he wanted to see what marvels were present within the ruins. Fate would, hopefully, guide his hands and feet and keep him alive.

The undead was a persuasive one, Evelyn found. She agreed that every room must be checked, no stone should be left unturned. Those were her orders – to search the ruins, to discover its purpose, to find anything that would be useful to Rhysol, The Voice, and the religious sects devoted to him. The reason these three individuals had been invited was because they all had unique gifts and talents which would be useful to the Black Sun on this excursion. Clearly Miro had been sent for his ability to construct a reasonable argument without being… obsequious in his nature, as the other two had appeared to be.

She liked Miro but, as the three stormed through the corridor, without waiting for a response for the woman, Evelyn Grey was not the least bit impressed. Eyes narrowed, she signaled to the two Stryfe soldiers to follow her through the corridor. At the end, as the others had already found, was a room which appeared to be empty. Shelves lined the circular room, all of them covered only in dust. Cobwebs that had barred their way had been blasted aside by the three front runners of the group.

This room was barren of anything useful, the group would soon discover. One of the soldiers kicked his way through the broken glass on the floor, and a few uncracked and unchipped vials and miscellaneous glassware chinked as they rolled across the floor, which the Acolyte and soldiers ignored. Nothing more than an old storage room, it would appear.

"
I don’t think I need to remind you that this excursion is run by the Black Sun, gentlemen?" The Acolyte said no more on that matter, knowing that each of them was clever enough to infer the less than subtle meaning behind her words. She found that she trusted the Reimancer, but she was still weary enough to fire a warning remark that might remind him of his place. "Favoured by the Ebonstryfe you may be, Miro, but I would watch that you don’t overstep the mark."

Looking straight ahead, across from the corridor they had just walked down, there was a door, though where it lead she was not sure. Hopefully, not another barren room. To the left of the corridor, however, was another corridor, too dark to see down. "
I am not hiding information from you for sport, Miro. Unknowledgeable members of this party is a hindrance, and could mean death for all of us. I have shared with you what I know; the previous Stryfe soldiers ran before they could discover anything of use."

The woman took a step back and looked at each of the five men standing in front of her. "
As I told you earlier – soldiers came yesterday, they returned quickly, and we have been sent to scout these ruins. If I could give you more information, we would not need to be here in the first place. We are the front line. If you have a problem with this, walk away whilst you still can."

NoteOkay! Someone else take the lead this time! Are we going forward, to the left, or back through to the room with the stairs and through that other door?! The choice is yours!

Nolan had done well to clear the first room, and there seemed to be no objection from their Acolyte leader. The plan would work well, Miro knew it. They just had to go and do things by the book, work efficiently, take a few precautions. Of course, it was a book just written, so there was likely to be a few issues. None so far at least. The wizard and Familiar stepped into the room, the blaze of the lantern casting rays of light against the dusty surfaces. It was mostly empty, at least at first glance.

The true test of it would come from Ender. The icy creature floated casually to the center of the room and searched about for anything that might hint a trap. "It appears to me as if this room is safe. I see no visible threats." The undead had already began to back out of the room, able to see well enough that no immediate danger hide within the looming darkness. He stood in the doorway just in time to receive an offhand comment to keep him in line. In a place like this, where in a moment anything could happen, the lines were always covered in dust.

Acolyte Evelyn Grey continued to explain, and indeed it seemed that all the sought after information was obtained successfully. There were few doubts still there was any information willingly concealed, which was a relief as much as a worry. The Irylid with his lantern was now aside Miro as he prepared to move to the room to his now right. This was the room the Familiar was intent of searching. But before he did so, he turned back in the doorway to look at his party. They were all capable, if not of fighting, then of tact.

The Chained One was unsure what could be down here, or why the soldiers would have fled the place so quickly. If they were anything like this Jepsen and Blake, it was because they were idiots. If that was not the case, and these men were sound of mind, it was because something had scared them off. This factor, along with this other scouting party, it had to mean something. Perhaps the soldiers had witnessed something, something they could not keep their mouths shut about. Information could have leaked, started a rumor, invited this other party.

"Well, the undead thought to himself, "I guess there are a few things still to consider." It was likely there was danger down here. Perhaps of traps, as was a constant fear. But there was something much worse. "I sincerely hope that this place has not become habitat for the beasts of the wild. Wildlife and unstable ruins do not mix well. This structure is not as stable as it once was, and their nesting only furthers this instability. And nobody wants to walk into a room and be assaulted by a family of predators."

Though in truth, this was not a concern of the wizard, not in the least. True, he could lose a party member, even a valued one. That was a risk all knew they were taking in coming down here. Deep in Miro's chest there was a bit of nervous excitement. Tales of mystical ruins, they always included a few things. Dark corridors lined with traps was the most common. Magic of all kinds too, especially magical traps. But the thing that caused anxiety was the last thing, the treasure of the place, often guarded by some final obstacle.

To muse about such things with his party members would discredit him a bit, as he had to remain the expert. Instead, when there came a time like this, he turned to his partner. He spoke to Ender across their telepathic bond. "Hey, Ender, what do you think is in the center of this place? I'll bet that there is some massive room with a priceless treasure on display, but getting to it is not so easy. Something prevents access unless you can prove yourself worthy. Maybe a clever riddle, a massive golem, a deadly trap. Sounds like fun, right?"

"You've listened to one too many stories Miro. This place was built for a practical purpose. It's location, structuring, contents, all of it hint at something. What it is, I am of yet unsure. However, it is likely this place was useful at one time, used for something important. A structure like this, my guess is as good as yours. Who knows for certain. If I had to guess, I'd expect it was used to keep things hidden away, valuable things. Vague, I know, but I haven't much to work with. Though I doubt we will encounter many traps or golems."

It was a fair answer, though it did ruin some of the fun for the Reimancer. If the Familiar was right though, it meant that they hadn't much to worry about. Still worry the undead did though. He was almost tempted to cast a bit of Res, though knew his Djed was of extreme value. Instead he played to this factor and began to open himself to the environment. He allowed his skin to begin to pull in Djed, Leech it from the surrounding air. This slight gain of Djed would only be useful after some time, unless there was by some chance a heavy concentration.

Miro did not leave the room, though he wished to explore things in his own way. It would almost make him happier were he alone with Ender down here. Together they could take their time, have no orders, claim whatever they wished. However this was not the case, they had to behave. And as just an apprentice, there was a short leash upon the wizard's neck. He turned his attention to their leader and spoke to her in a confident voice. "Miss Grey, I do understand what you mean. You are Black Sun, a very important woman. I must admit I have a few concerns."

Now would be the time he played the cards he had drawn. Hopefully they were as valuable as he predicted them. Hypnotism would do him little good here. "You say we needn't concern ourselves of the other party exploring with us, but we do not even know their numbers. The soldiers fled these ruins all too quickly yesterday, but we know not why. There are many factors that point to danger, and I can clearly see my objective now." Doubt were cast, and the goal was indeed clear. "You are our leader, our true task. Please allow me to stay by your side. I'll accept any orders given with grace. But most of all, I'll ensure you are kept safe."

Inoadar had only intended to take a quick look for any immediate threats in the room through the doorway to the left. He'd seen Miro making for the passage straight forward of the stairway down, and thought to quickly gauge anything that might follow them from out of this room.

Instead, when he turned to give his assessment, he saw the mage sending his familiar, Ender, floating in. The pair confirmed his hurried statement that it appeared clear. But he stifled a grimace as he heard the sound of crunching and tinkling glass, and hurried back to the first chamber. He felt foolish for not giving a look right at the outset of entering, knowing that remains of vials and other possible lab and storage articles may contain clues.

He wanted to acknowledge his undue haste, by way of an apology, but felt that such a demonstration would only make him look weak. Instead, he spoke sternly, but respectfully, to the soldiers. "Please be careful of the glassware. Let me examine it for any telltale stains or residue. I may be able to guess what this room was used for. Normally you don't find vials like these in an entry chamber or a lobby. Although, this was undoubtedly a more secure wing of whatever sort of above-ground facility this site originally was, so there's no telling."

He leaned his crossbow in a corner, tip down, so that a misfire would do more to propel the stock into the air, rather than fire the bolt to ricochet dangerously. He put on gloves and picked up several samples, some unbroken, some shards, and began to compare them under lamplight. There was only dust in them, but there were differences in the coloration from one to another. He stepped away from the group and blew on them, citing stains and doing the same with a second handful of samples from a different area of the floor.

He sniffed them as well, but frowned. "Time has clearly eliminated any residual odors. I could take some time and prepare some enzyme catalysts to check for reactions that might indicate toxicity." He had his doubts that Lady Grey was going to indulge him this way, but figured it was prudent to make the suggestion. He also didn't want to endure her glare if she allowed him such time only to find that these items had contained nothing more than flour and salt.

In the meantime, he glanced around for any vials that appeared to have clear labels on them. In his own experience, unlabeled vials contained the materials that were either too mundane to be noteworthy, or so untested as to defy labeling. Often, a simple date and code number would be all one would find. This would be referenced by entries in the chemists' personal notes. But such volatile materials would be in vials with stoppers. He glanced around again for signs that any of these things had ever been kept sealed.

He also looked more closely at the dusty shelves for any misplaced papers with writing on them.

Like the rest that joined the expedition into the ruins, Venser had his own agenda. Curiosity compelled him to enter the ruins with the Black Sun, but it was the potential for knowledge that pulled to him the most. Where others saw danger pulling at the senses and a dense anxiety stifling excitement, Venser felt alive. Surely the wizard and the poisoner could identify. Despite the fact that the former was the undead and the latter was an enigma, he assumed this of them.

Why enter this place if you're not looking for something? Exploration of a ruins tested by time... The ancients presumably held power that we cannot even comprehend. The magicks, technology, the cataclysm surely reverted both and understanding of both back to infancy.

Nolan spoke of holding still in order to analyze glassware and run tests on tiny, broken shards of glass. The room about them looked to close to the entrance of the ruin to be some sort of ancient laboratory, and Venser decided not to worry himself with the minuscule chance of finding something in a test tube. Rather, the young man looked to the paths ahead, but before he could, his thoughts of advancement were interrupted by the words of the acolyte.

She seemed to have a very slight, but noticeable change of heart. Now, rather than insulting her companions' intelligence with the negation of contradictory ideas, she accepted Miro's judgement. Her words rung with a measure of truth, the intention of not hiding a plethora of details and sharing knowledge in order to ensure the group's survival sounded like a pleasant theory, but in truth, it only breathed ignorance into the Rush twin's mind. Others came before and were too terrified of something inside to truly pursue the knowledge held within the ruins? This spoke to him more than any sort of unreasonable excuse as to why the blooded of Rhysol himself would feel fear.

Human souls with human minds were subject to breaking morale and fleeing, but Acolyte Grey spoke of horrors. What sort of monstrosity could be hidden within the first few rooms of a ruin? The possibilities were endless, but one could only find out if advancement was allowed. Staying in this room to wait for Nolan to finish his handiwork did not appeal to him. Rather, he turned to the corridor facing to the left. Lacking a lantern, the Rush twin did not want to fully ascend into the darkness, given that with blindness, advantages were given to the unknown, but he stood by the entrance to the walkway, fingers pressed to the stone walls of the ruins, feeling the texture of the ancient architecture before he ascended forward.

He made it a point to make his forward progress noticeable, but he continued to keep his thoughts to himself, focused on the task at hand rather than playing politics. Perhaps Miro had the security and the faith in his own invincibility to do so at this moment, but Venser decided for a more prudent approach to things.

Steps would be taken towards the encroaching darkness, Venser's pupils dilating in the pitch black unconsciously, though it did little to assist him. Rather, the blonde relied on his other senses to assist in his analysis of the situation, again pulling at the weave of his djed and synchronizing his mind with his environment, curiosity pulling him to assess if there were strange, bunched up concentrations of djed.

"
I appreciate the sentiment, Apprentice," she spoke, gently, yet firmly, to the mage, "But I am not the object of this excursion. My life is secondary to what we have all been assigned to do, which is a concept you should be well aware of by now." The woman sniffed, "Anyway, as I said before, that rabble is the last thing on my mind."

Looking around the room, Acolyte Evelyn Grey was not impressed by what she found; whilst she wasn’t desperate to find treasures, she did not understand what had scared off the Ebonstryfe soldiers who had come down here just the day before. What had been here yesterday that had frightened the arguably well-trained men so, what was waiting for them. The Acolyte of the Black Sun wondered if perhaps whatever was lurking down here was in the other room, the room to the left of the stairs, which had thus far been ignored.

Absently, Evelyn waved an arm of approval in Parnell’s direction, as she reached into an inside pocket, she pulled out a folded piece of parchment, which she carefully opened up and motioned for Jepsen to come and stand beside her, thus offering her light to read the map by. "
According to the… poor description that was given to us by the soldiers yesterday, this room and the next are mere storage rooms, though there is a further corridor beyond the next room, apparently. Unfortunately for us, the incompetent buffoons did not venture any further than the next storage room, nor did they look into the room just to the left…"

And the Acolyte’s words spoke true, Venser, upon entering the next room, would find nothing remarkable, whether by concrete sight or through his mind’s eye, he would see only a mere repeat of what those standing in this room were seeing, though it was bigger, and contained more equipment, possibly even more advanced equipment. He would see, in the opposite corner, but still heading straight on, another corridor. And to the right, there was also a door. To where they both led, however, Venser would not be able to see.

"
We are not all ready, Mister Rush, please give us a moment. " The woman called as she continued to examine the map. Anyone approaching the Acolyte and looking down upon the map would be able to see that the other door from the stair room would eventually lead to a library, though the two soldiers, standing right beside the Acolyte, were in whispered conversation, “The place looks like it was abandoned overnight, you know… somewhere around here there must be personal quarters or something. Who knows what was left behind.” The Acolyte, giving the men a sharp look, quietly asked, "Looking for gold to fill Rhysol’s coffers, are we?" The men had the grace to appear shameful, at least.

"
Master poisoner, how is your work coming along? Your associate is keen to move on, it seems." As long as nothing tried to kill her, Acolyte Grey was content to spend an indefinite amount of time down in the ruins, and if Nolan Parnell’s investigations gave them a clue as to what this facility might be used for, Evelyn could consider the mission a partial success, even if they found nothing to bring back. Assuming Parnell carried out the experiment now, he would possibly discover the residue of blood from the vials – mostly animal blood, however, if his experiments into his own Wildleash held true, he might also detect Kelvic blood too. "Well?"

Once finished, the Acolyte beckoned everyone to follow to follow Venser Rush through to the next storage room. Once then, she rolled her eyes in frustration, and when she spoke there was a distinctly sarcastic quality to her tone, "
I applaud your sense of direction, Rush… and you did so well in helping us to catch the assailant during last Season’s Execution." Given the structure of the low stone walls on the surface, the Acolyte wouldn’t be surprised to find the underground level loop round on itself; she wondered how much further this route would bring them into the facility, and if it was worth continuing through room after room of storage, or if that was even the case.

NoteRight! I like this idea of the last poster picking the next room… so – whoever is last this time picks where we go next (your choices are:
1. Straight on.
2. To the right.
3. Back to the previous storage room and through the other door
4. Back to the stair room and through the other door.

…do you guys want me to upload a map each round for you to see where is available/where you’ve been?

Inoadar

It was not as though Inoadar had not seen sufficient blood stains to suspect that these were what were discoloring the remains of the vials and beakers. But were they human? If he let his imagination run wild, he didn't doubt he could eventually arrive at a scenario heinous enough to unman a squad of soldiers.

He stifled a grin, thinking that this line of thinking would probably follow the course of experimentation currently going on behind closed doors at the new Nitrozian-Moletta Sanitary Station, that he'd founded with his partners, Valerius Nitrozian and Amolina Moletta. The grin disappeared as the relevance of stumbling upon potentially similar research struck him. 'This could be far more personally useful than I first considered.'

He blended an anticoagulant with a deliquescent reagent and allowed a few drops into the end of a vial with one of these stains. This served to pull moisture from the surrounding atmosphere and liquify the stain into the barest sample of what had dried there. He shook it a bit to accomplish this, not having his spinner, or a stable surface to anchor it to.

He then fished out an astringent catalyst and added just a half-pinch of this. The sample immediately shrank in volume. This was precisely what he'd expected. "This is blood, Lady Acolyte. In a few moments..." he started, going through his odds and ends for one last vial of his own as he explained his intent, somewhat distracted by his delicate procedure. "...I will be able to...determine...if it's...There we go! This is NOT human blood. I used a protein reacting dye to gauge the presence of Collagen and Epidural...well never mind."

He halted his analytical rundown of procedures as the woman's approving gleam turned to a scowl with his unnecessary narrative. 'She probably doesn't understand it anyway.' he reasoned silently, keeping the disdain from his expression. A sudden offshoot of this discovery occurred to him and he removed the dart containing the dose of Wildleash from his loop bracer. "Just another moment..."

He knew it would do no harm to him, not being a Kelvic, but it would clarify one more detail of this animal blood. He poured the few drops of the reconstituted blood into the Wildleash dose. It soaked into the pasty mass like a sponge. He did not think this would dilute the poison by any significant degree, but it was possible. "I stand partially corrected, Milady. This is Kelvic blood." he looked around, focusing on similar stains on glass remains of differing types of containers. "I think some of these larger containers are likely to hold normal animal blood. Possibly even human blood...Or humanOID blood anyway. Different types of containers for different sources of samples are one of the basic degrees of separation that a scientist uses to tell at a glance which samples are which."

He didn't know if this was of anything more than passing interest to Lady Grey. She currently seemed more interested in which passage the party was taking.

The Legate reached into the rucksack he had brought with him, opening a supply of rations that he had brought with him in the event that he needed to recover, a portion of fish and dried vegetables present in a small container. A day's worth of rations were consumed, Venser placing the rest in his rucksack.

The Rush twin ate in relative silence, quickly finishing the meal before the party entered the room. The Rush twin ignored the woman as she addressed him by his last name, the obvious confusion between him and his brother further bringing him to know the incompetency that was the Acolyte's existence. She knew nothing about the people that she had under her command, and the Rush twin decided that rather than allow himself to suffer the unbearable fallacy of her command, he would investigate the goings about within the room upon his own. Despite the use of Auristics, Venser caught nothing that caught his eye, a frown pursing his lips as he made his ascent forward, using what little there was of light in order to see. He withdrew the use of djed, the sight given to him by Auristics faded.

The Rush twin had no intention of taxing himself further, feeling the recovery of his djed as his body processed the meal he had supplied it, a breath filling Venser's lungs as he pressed his hand to the Maledicted jawbone that rested upon a string around his neck. He felt a surge of clarity enter his mind, confidence brimming his thoughts as unconscious remembrance of the dog, Baurus, flashed in his mind. The Legacy's teeth wedged into the Rush twin's chestplate for a moment, almost as if the dog were giving one last playful nibble before the process stopped, leaving Venser only with what the item seemed to do. Confidence was surely a beneficial tool in this sort of situation, and with the replenished status of the Rush twin's djed, he felt invincible once again.

Venser decided to investigate the equipment that lay within the room, forgotten by time and discarded by ancient hands. He asked himself, What do these things do? The ancients, presumably, had much more to offer than dusty tools and empty rooms. Perhaps there are books in this room as there were in the last?

The Rush twin decided to cast his gaze about, crystalline eyes searching for whatever could possibly be of interest. He found a shelf and decided to investigate it, squinting in the faint light of the torches that the others held, hoping to find books with titles that interested him, though he kept his mind open for other possibilities.

It seemed that the party was at ease around Miro. There was no need to be tense if nobody else was. Such a behavior was very beneficial to his desires. There was so much to be found in here, and a chance to impress all the right people. To be apart of finding something that furthered Rhysol's power would mean favor. But the undead had to demonstrate his leadership ability to show his use. The mission to be accomplished was his first priority.

The Chained One was ready to progress forward and clear more rooms if things were so calm. He was useless to stand around and do nothing. The most simple way to do things would be to head straight until something redirected him. It would help give them an idea of how big the place was. However this decision was not one to be made alone. Especially to a practitioner of Familiary.

Ender was still fixated on the room overlooked. The one to the left from the entrance, likely to be left behind by his master's will to explore inward. It was all too obvious that the the wizard wished to find something grand that more than likely did not exist. It was time that the Irylid was listened to. Though only by his master across their telepathic bond. The floating orb of ice began to drift away from his Miro.

"Master, I am going to explore the other room, it is getting left behind. I am useless as a mere lamp holder, use one of the others. If I disappear nobody would even notice. I can keep my true ability concealed and work independently for a time." The behavior was so strange to the relationship. Yet what the Familiar said made sense. "I can return without anyone even noticing."

The silvery orb drifted away to the room behind them as Miro walked forth to draw attention in the opposite direction. The wizard turned to Evelyn Grey from the front half of the room. "My talents are wasted if there is nothing to defend you from. I rarely find myself concerned with danger. However I do find myself without any hands, so to have a light and a spare hand would be of great use. Perhaps one of your soldiers and I could clear the next room. The other could assist Venser. You would have Inoadar, a fine assistant."

The undead hardly cared to see if the suggestion was put to use before he began working. He turned to slowly walk into the next room forward. He waved his staff as he produced a large liquid orb or Res to follow him in. "No matter, I can handle this much myself. It will only take a moment." He was eager to begin charting out the place and finding the most interesting of rooms. The Irylid however halted for a while after he entered the former room. He began to shift into his replicant form.

The silver orb began to shift and sprout limbs that took shape and began to form detail. He formed into a man in his prime with black hair and garb. His form hidden away by a black hooded cloak. Now Human all but his ghoulish nails and fangs, silver eyes and undead facial features. His face was gaunt and his eyes bulged out of their dark sockets. The lantern was in his left hand as he adjusted to his new form and readied to proceed.

Miro made his way slowly into the room before him with a limp, his Res ahead of him with the outermost layers ablaze for light. He was ready to face whatever he found inside. Ender smirked at the stairs that lead out of the place. Everybody made so much fuss about the place, acted so official. The Familiar was free to do as he pleased, as long as he didn't draw any negative attention or get into trouble. There seemed to be hardly anything in the place. Though his master expected otherwise still.
