* Appearance The twins share many things in common, their appearance being the most obvious to an unknown passer-by. As something not often seen in the human regions, the identical twins, when together, often attract more than a fleeting glance. When apart, one might be mistaken for the other; a mistake that the brothers have abused in the past. At a height of 5’8”, the pair come in at a little taller than average. At 145lb, the two are lucky to say that they eat relatively well. Both do a reasonable amount of exercise, though Verin, the more active of the two, has cultivated more defined muscles. Ash blonde hair and grey-blue eyes are also things that the Rush brothers share, though Venser’s crystalline eyes appear duller, colder, compared to Verin’s, which radiate warmth. Their eyes mirror the rest of their faces: Venser has more deepset eyes and higher cheekbones, leaving Verin to give the appearance of being much more approachable than his brother. Both are normally clean shaven, and Verin’s hair is generally kept at a little over an inch long, compared to Venser’s closer cut hair. For the casual observer though, it is difficult to tell the two apart. Verin’s clothing is simple, preferring to adorn darker shades wherever possible. [Note: A comparison of the brothers can be found here.] * Personality Though he is a twin, Verin’s upbringing was considerably more comfortable than Venser’s. The older of the two, Verin was not blamed by his father for the death of his mother, who died in the childbirth of his brother mere bells after Verin’s birth. The result was a much more pleasant disposition for the older brother, who is also far less capricious. The man’s patience seems to extend indefinitely, allowing him more grace and tact than his younger, more reserved and silent, brother. Though his father was by no means rich, he was wealthy enough to afford Verin an education of sorts, without offering the same to Venser, which left the elder with a sense of entitlement, knowing many would not receive such a luxury. His unwavering ambition is the driving force in him excelling at most things he tries, and misplaced compassion is why he shares his learnings with his brother. Given his upbringing in the city of Ravok, Verin cannot be described as ‘good’, though he is not outright evil either. Amoral might be the most accurate way of describing him, performing good and bad deeds as long as he sees purpose or results in doing them. Despite this, he will never perform an action himself if he can convince another to do it for him, preferring to persuade a weaker minded individual, rather than dirty his own hands.

* History The story of Verin and Venser Rush did not begin on a dark, thunderous night, as one might expect a story like theirs to begin. It did, however, begin with tragedy. It was the 89th of Fall, the year 487 AV. Autumn chill filled the small appartment, pained screaming killing any sense of silence that would ordinarily exist. Verin, the elder brother, was also screaming, but his cries were muffled by his mother’s agony as her labour went on, trying to birth the twin. Several bells later, she succeeded, though the heavy toll would claim her life. The father was left to raise the twins that the Gods saw fit to bestow him with. As the elder, Verin felt nothing of the abuse and neglect that his younger brother suffered; in his father’s eyes, the firstborn had not destroyed his wife’s body so much as to kill her. He was the wanted brother, not Venser, and the pair grew up knowing that. Whilst Verin received an education, Venser was left forgotten. And when their father came home, wretched from alcohol, Venser received the brunt of his blows, though on occasion Verin would fool his father into thinking he was the hated son, saving his brother for a night. On these occasions, Verin realised how much he took for granted, and he grew to hate his father, as his brother did. This, more than anything else, cemented the bond that the brothers shared. Despite this, normality was something that the boys didn’t share, as Verin make friends and had the opportunity to socialise among peers. He never forgot his brother, however, and throughout his years of education, he did his best to pass on the knowledge to his sibling, gifting him arithmacy, reading, writing, and smatterings of the Ancient Tongue. Years passed, and the two boys grew into young men. Conflict between the pair was virtually nonexistent, given that the exertions from fending off their father left the brothers with little else but support for one another. Not only were they brothers, twins, they were also best friends. The strife engendered ambition in both of them, and they knew that their time would come. Turned Twenty Three at the end of last Season. 4. What is your height? It's not generally something I keep track of.. 5'7.. 5'8? 5. What is your weight? My mother was a Ravokian native, who died in childbirth with my brother. She was never really spoken of so I don't know much about her. My father, on the other hand, was a merchant from Syliras, though why he was trading with Ravok... anyway.. he met my mother here and never left. He's dead too. 2. Do you have any brothers or sisters? A younger brother, Venser. He's my twin. 3. What is your extended family like? Never really knew my mother's family, but I have some family in Syliras, I believe. 4. Do you consider close friends as important or more/less important than family? What do you sound like? Do you have an accent? The Common Tongue is my fluent language, though I am also relatively proficient in Nader-Canoch, and studied the Ancient Language for a period. 4. I pride myself in being reasonably proficient in impersonating others, so I hope I've schooled any of my own quirks out. But my brother could probably tell you a few. 5.
