50th Summer, 515AV

It was early in the morning, just before sunrise when Revy had gotten out of bed. Apparently her patron had decided that she should go with a wing, to see how the knights operated in larger groups. What she had seen so far wasn't sufficient enough, for her to actually be able to work within the knights after knighthood. She wasn't looking forward to it particularly. Why she didn't know, but she just had that feeling of dread.

After putting on her plate armor, she heard the all too familiar bonking on the door. Her patron was here and the squire could only sigh. "Yeah yeah, give me a second. Let me grab my weapon and shield.", she replied as she slung her shield onto her back. She also grabbed her dagger, securing it on the back of her hip and then picked up her longsword. At this point in time it was still not worth the effort of dragging her other weapons around. She just wasn't familiar enough with them yet.

Revy's patron had her own wing to run a patrol with today, but she deemed it too dangerous for her squire. Despite knowing that Revy was probably better in a fight then herself, she wasn't used to working with her wing. "I'll be dropping you with a different wing from mine. I don't think that you would fit with mine, nor that I could ensure your safety. Before you start complaining like a kid, remember that you are not used to working in a wing. That's why I'm leaving you with a different wing", she explained.

Revy could sort of understand. Of course she didn't agree with the fact that it was too dangerous, but there was no point arguing. At most she'd piss Theresa off and that wasn't really a smart idea. She had done so a few times and each time she regretted it. Her patron either found a way to put Revy to studying, or put her to work with thing she absolutely disliked. In short, her patron found something to punish her with.

After having picked up Rosalind from the Windmount stables, the two went towards the gate of Syliras. There they met up with the both Theresa's wing and the other wing, which Revy was supposed to join. "Hail Ser Andres. Would you mind taking care of my squire? The part where I have to go is just a tad too dangerous for her. Your route should be safer for her", she said to the wing's leader.

Revy didn't see the leader, but the name sounded familiar. It wasn't the guy who she thought it was right? Anyway, she kinda wanted to just get out of here, but orders are orders. She was supposed to go with them, so she would do so. She didn't have her visor down, so at least her face was visible. For the rest she was completely clad in her black armor.

Squire meets Wing, what could go wrong? [Markus]

Half a season seemed to have flown by in no time as Markus had begun to settle into the old routine with the knights. He was rather fortunate, he found, that he had been assigned his old wing again. The knights he had worked with briefly over a year ago before his Zeltiva/Sunberth adventures and they had not changed much in that time. For the first few tendays, wearing the full armour again after a year without, it had felt a little strange. Taken some time to get used to the various limitations and the extra drain on his stamina when he moved in the heavier armour. There was no special mission for the day, it was a typical protection and patrol duty. One that he had been on almost every day. The knight ensured his bastard sword was secured to his hip before he picked up the shield. Markus moved to his lover, still resting, he smiled at the sight of the large bulge on her stomach. Soon. He thought to himself as he placed a hand on the bulge and leant down and placed a kiss on her resting forehead, right on the mark of one of her two goddesses.

"I'll be going now. I love you~"

He moved swiftly and as quietly as he could, though the armour did indeed hinder that aspect of his life. Undoubtedly S'Essy would be wide awake by the time he left their apartment. He gathered his thoughts about him and focused on the task at hand today. He had already had one mishap earlier this season, he was not about to let more lumberjacks be injured on his watch. He was happy he had been assigned this close to the city for this season, close to S'Essy and the growing baby in her tummy. Markus shook his head again and focused once more on the task at hand. He could think about becoming a father once he was off duty. Markus appeared outside the fortress itself to the open areas of the citadel. Parts of his wing was already assembled by the gate, they had gathered the horses as he had planned with them the other knight. Brock and Braklin, two of his heavy hitters. Excellent knights. Markus approached them with a little nod.

" 'Morning boys, will be more of the same." They both responded with a simple Morning ser. Markus waited for the other three to appear. They appeared within a couple of chimes. The two elderly seemed to be in discussion about something Markus did not hear what was and when they saw him, they both stopped and straightened their backs. Pleasantries were exchanged before he made a sign for them to gather around him. They made a semi circle before him.

"Same as yester-" The look in Anders' eyes and she looked over his shoulder clued him to someone was approaching him. Hail Andres- Markus turned to face the approaching Sera. Listened to her request and saw no reason not to take her squire along. Their assignment wouldn't be dangerous, just a regular patrol and guard duty. Of course he could manage another squire. He only hoped this squire would be human or humanoid and not another pycon.

"Hail Stalinsa, and of course I can. Shouldn't be a problem. Just send her over here and I will include her in my wing." Markus responded as he tried to think of a more efficient way of setting up the formation as they rode out. Six people made for a simple line of riders two man beside one another. With a seventh there would be someone trailing behind or in front. Anders could be in front, she always had a great reaction speed and was great at spotting. Knight Anders came up beside him and whispered something into his ear.

'She's marked by Myri, ser.' Markus nodded and looked a little intrigued at that revelation. A squire marked by Myri. Sounded like they had a myrian squire. Kaie and Razkar had been two formidable Myrians so he wouldn't mind having a Myrian with him on patrol. Markus followed the sight of the knight and onto the person she claimed was marked by Myri. Markus got a smirk on his lips when he recognized the woman. It had been a year, but he still remembered their encounter. He had been full of anger and annoyance, she likewise. What was her name... Revy Hiroe? Was that not it? It had been a good spar and he was not sure if she had told him she was marked by Myri back then, but now it made sense how she could move with such deadly speed during their fight. More intriguingly, she had actually followed his advice and joined the knights. With her talent and age, he was a little surprised that she had not yet gone on a knighting quest. He waved the squire over.

"Well met, Hiroe!"

The woman had a long way to go before she'd be able to prove herself, that much was made clear by the fact that Sera Stalinsa left her with that guy's wing. Though seeing he had his own wing at least meant he was a higher ranked knight. Despite her disliking him still, correct formalities should be held up. She wasn't gong to cause problems right now, at least not yet.

So when she was greeted by Ser Markus, she simply replied: "Hail, Ser Andres." Short and to the point, how she usually was. She felt a bit uncomfortable around all those men, but at least she could take relief in the fact that she wasn't the only female amongst them. Not to mention that said female appeared to have a Prowess mark like her, as she could feel through her own mark. That was mostly the reason why she looked at sera Anders a bit longer than the others.

Rosalind could feel her rider's discomfort and tried to turn around, but Revy just patted her on her head. "It's okay. It's work, so even if I don't feel comfortable, I have to do it.", she whispered to the horse. This seemed to calm the horse down, albeit only a little. She seemed to still be on guard against those men. Well, who could blame the horse? She had never met any of them.

"Ser, where do you want me.", she then asked Markus. The tone was a bit more brusk then she had intended, but she wanted her orders clear cut and to the point. If he didn't like it, he'd have to speak up about it. He knew how she was, well partially, so he could've expected it.

Squire meets Wing, what could go wrong? [Markus]

The squire did not approach him with a smile or any resemblance of joyful recognition. The sergeant was a little taken aback by this, but then he remembered the full truth of their encounter. As far as Markus recalled, the two had not been the best of friends when they had met. He had been on the warpath and actively sought to find someone he could spar with to vent some frustrations upon. It had been too late for the regular training area, but he had been fortunate to have come across Revy back then. Their encounter was quite the opposite of something one ought to remember with joy, a bitter spar and mockery from both sides. Though he had though the axe buried between them and both could have come clean from that day. After all, she had heeded his advice to join the knights. Markus let a little smile appear on his lips as he knocked away the thoughts. Perhaps it was not him personally, rather the situation as she was, in essence, being dumped off to be babysat in his wing. Could make even the best a little annoyed with the treatment. Well, she'd just have to suck it up and follow orders. Not that he expected there to be much action today. The tone was not one he was used to from those under him, but he didn't take offense. If she kept it up, he might have a word with her about it and talk to her patron knight about it, but no use going over her head to begin with. It did however change his plans. Perhaps he could place Anders next to her, the two had something in common. Then again, if the two started to butt heads... Markus sighed and turned to the others. Hales would be a good person to keep around, his level head and light hearted humour might be good in the front with him and Anders.

"Everyone, this is Revy Hiroe, squire to sera Stalinsa, and she'll be accompanying us today." Markus paused briefly as he pointed to Hales on the far left in the semi circle around him. "Welcome to the second wing brown company. I'll keep the introduction brief, ser Hales on the left. Sera Hushod next to him. Then Ser Braklin and he is followed by Ser Brock. Finally we have Sera Anders." The knights each raised and arm in greeting to the temporary wing-mate. He did find it a bit odd that Revy had already mounted her horse, but she must've been eager to ride out.

"Right, now that is done. We're escorting some lumberjacks out to the forest today and keeping a watch over them as they carry out their job. Okay, Hushod, Braklin and Brock, you three take the rear. The rest of us are in front. Hiroe, stick to sera Anders for now." Markus glanced over his shoulder as he heard the sound of approaching footsteps, belonging to different sources. It seemed as those they were meant to protect had arrived for work and not a moment too soon. As the labourers and lumberjacks started to appear in numbers. "Okay, saddle up everyone." Markus ordered before he turned to the overseer. He knew the man from the other days he had been protecting the workers and he was a good sort of man. Strict, but organized and knew how to do his job, so a good overseer. "Ready to go immediately?" He was met with a firm nod and Markus was pleased. They could be clear of the city within chimes and that'd be a refreshing change. He found his own horse and got mounted.

"Move out then." Markus said in a clear voice before he rode through the gate. Followed closely by both Hales and Anders, the other three knights staying behind and waiting for the workers to leave the fortress city before following. Nothing eventful usually happened on the way out, but once they reached the forest proper things got less organized and more chaotic as the workers spread out and did their work.

The woman was a bit hesitant when she got introduced, but she had to work with them, so she'd just have to suck it up. At least now she knew the names of those people. She could still forget a name or two, but who cares? After all, do most people remember names of others easily? She at least didn't. And to at least not appear like a total jerk, she raised her hand back at them.

So the mission was going to be an escort one? The woman had seen plenty of those during her mercenary days. Not all of them ended well, but that wasn't her fault. Usually it was a petch up from one of the other mercs, like falling asleep while on night duty. Or one of them had been either bribed or they were working for their raiders. Those were memories from her first few years as a mercenary and they had taught her a lot about people. "Don't trust any guy ever. They end up betraying you. Don't trust women who come onto you strongly, they have a hidden agenda." But still she ended up trusting people and still got hurt in the process.

Revy guided Rosalind over to Sera Anders. That was the woman whom she thought to have a mark from Myri. She ought inquire to how she got it. "Myri's mark? How'd you get it, if you don't mind me asking.", she asked the knight. Did she have to prove herself in combat too? Or was there something else that drew the goddess' attention? She was curious, as it was always fun to listen to war stories. Perhaps the two of them could have a spar sometimes.

When they arrived at the workplace, the first thing Revy did was look around to see where enemies could attack from. There were some bushes, but it didn't cover all around them. It might be a good thing to post up there, depending on what ser Markus wanted. If you could stand just in front of them, or in them, you could prevent wildlife from sneaking up and doing a surprise attack. But all in all the location wasn't hard to defend.
