At first Ikbin debated with himself how much he should initially tell the woman when she asked about his proposal. Then decided it would be best to let her on a little at a time just to see how she would react. Vorgesetzter then decided to drop all pretenses of formality and skip through the pleasantries, as he did he let a bit of guile drip into his voice, a silver tongue always trumps a heart of gold, and if his suspicions were correct, this woman would be able to appreciate the guile more so than what would have been his attempts at flattery.
"Ana, then," he said, "I am in need of someone who has a certain talent for . . . obtaining things in a manner that is of questionable legality. The way you keep eyeing the coin purses of me and most everyone else in here, you strike me as that type. We both know that I am speaking with you not out of some naive compulsion to make friends, however if I benefit from making your acquaintance tonight in more ways than one, then so be it. I am also a good deal certain that you aren't here to simply partake of this debauchery as the others are. If that is the case, and I am certain that it is, I have a favor to ask of you that you would be able to profit from immensely were you to accept."
He paused for a moment letting his words sink in, before continuing. He leaned in a bit closer and lowered his voice so that only he and Ana could here what he said.
"In the back storeroom there is a chest, in the chest is a fat sack of mizahs ranging from about 300 to 375 gold, that is the culmination of this week's earnings for the tavern. In a matter of minutes, the Tavern Keeper will go back and add the weight of Cade's generous donation tonight to that sack. You would earn easily three time as much as you would earn picking the pockets of these drunks and revelers. . . .I have the means for you to obtain this, all I ask is that you plant something there for me in return as well as 30 of the mizahs from the bag. What say you?"
He leaned back allowing his words to further sink in and so that he could gauge Ana's response. He grabbed the bottle of whiskey that the Tavern Keeper and tucked it away into the folds of his cloak with the other one.
"If you couldn't handle an ale, then there's no way you could stomach this," he said briefly.
