At first Ikbin debated with himself how much he should initially tell the woman when she asked about his proposal. Then decided it would be best to let her on a little at a time just to see how she would react. Vorgesetzter then decided to drop all pretenses of formality and skip through the pleasantries, as he did he let a bit of guile drip into his voice, a silver tongue always trumps a heart of gold, and if his suspicions were correct, this woman would be able to appreciate the guile more so than what would have been his attempts at flattery.

"Ana, then," he said, "I am in need of someone who has a certain talent for . . . obtaining things in a manner that is of questionable legality. The way you keep eyeing the coin purses of me and most everyone else in here, you strike me as that type. We both know that I am speaking with you not out of some naive compulsion to make friends, however if I benefit from making your acquaintance tonight in more ways than one, then so be it. I am also a good deal certain that you aren't here to simply partake of this debauchery as the others are. If that is the case, and I am certain that it is, I have a favor to ask of you that you would be able to profit from immensely were you to accept."

He paused for a moment letting his words sink in, before continuing. He leaned in a bit closer and lowered his voice so that only he and Ana could here what he said.

"In the back storeroom there is a chest, in the chest is a fat sack of mizahs ranging from about 300 to 375 gold, that is the culmination of this week's earnings for the tavern. In a matter of minutes, the Tavern Keeper will go back and add the weight of Cade's generous donation tonight to that sack. You would earn easily three time as much as you would earn picking the pockets of these drunks and revelers. . . .I have the means for you to obtain this, all I ask is that you plant something there for me in return as well as 30 of the mizahs from the bag. What say you?"

He leaned back allowing his words to further sink in and so that he could gauge Ana's response. He grabbed the bottle of whiskey that the Tavern Keeper and tucked it away into the folds of his cloak with the other one.
"If you couldn't handle an ale, then there's no way you could stomach this," he said briefly.

Within the Tavern...

Father Manowar looked idly at the rambunctious little party going on as he half waddle his way through the party with a drink on his hand. He was keeping an eye on things, like usual and was more then happy to help the crowds throw some people out.

He didn't mind a good scrap taking place so long as there was no problems involving the destruction of property, and normally the tavern goers would help him kick someone out.

Humming idly he began to walk in the direction of those at the bar whispering conspiratorially as he sipped upon his favorite flagon. He'd pound the mug onto the bar where his helping bartender would fill it back up as quickly as he could with his choice beverage. Normally he was behind the bar himself, and for a while he'd have his chance to do so.

Problem was he heard something he didn't like, and when he didn't like something he tended to keep an eye on it. Smiling, looking as much a priest as anything else he'd turn to give the rest of the tavern goers a smile and a wave... He'd have to thank the barbarian who wanted a party, man was going to be running at least fifty gold from this night, and who knew... maybe a little longer and the price would increase?

Postby Ana Sol Starris on January 22nd, 2012, 11:45 pm

The change in Ikbins manner towards her took her aback at his words, he wanted someone to steal something, was her understanding and he wanted HER specifically to do it. Listening intently and carefully to him, keeping her mouth shut to catch everything his low voice said. It was a very loud tavern, she had to lean a little towards him just in case she wasn't hearing him right. The curiosity in her manner could be seen miles away, this man was insane.

Glancing at the food on the table, untouched, her hunger for money exceeded it but just in case this was all a trap she took a loaf and broke a piece off and chewed carefully in thought of his words. Contemplating them, when he paused she gave him a nod to continue, she was interested. This guy, for all her petty plans this one held real value to it, it had voice next to her weak pathetic little ones of trying to get him drunk and then rob him or even the guy in the corner, his plan was much bigger than both of hers combined.

Ana had to be honest with herself, she admired his ambition and plan. She would never of been able to think of something like this, but what was she to do? The complications began to roll into her mind as images of her failing were evident, she'd need a diversion if she was going to enter the backroom unnoticed. Keeping her eyes to him, she knew better than to scan right now around her during such an important matter. It would have to continue for as long as it could, just long enough to get in and out. Smiling broadly, she couldn't resist this.

Leaning on an elbow towards him, shifting position in her seating arrangement so she was on her foreleg and the other hanging off the chair swinging it back and forth lightly so her sandals made a light scuffing noise against the floor. To anyone who didn't know better they would have thought she was trying to seduce him when she certainly was not, she was just doing a nervous twitch, being antsy with the caution ringing through her head. In a hushed voice, she kept her words short and sweet "you're a idiot, this better be no trick" she started, choosing her words carefully with a key point missing that struck her odd "what if the chest is locked? And this item?" She inquired even quieter still, giving him all the confirmation he needed she'd do it unless of course she could sneak in a few conditions.

By the time he was done talking and she had given him her inquiries, she had finished the bread and the cheese, not exactly realizing how hungry she was and especially having of forgotten her purpose of just coming for the free goods.

Within the Tavern......

At one of the tables, enjoying the sound of celebration that emanated inside the tavern, sat Kreig Messer. The man observed everything that was going on, many were already on a drunken stupor or their minds currently in a daze from all the drugs, and some where enjoying the taste of the wenches ' Quite the rowdy night this is turning out to be' Usually, time spent in a tavern is involved such careless actions, but of course it had be well within their spending limit.

'This Cade person has quite the bottomless pocket it seems' He thought as he observed more, noting that very few people where taking care not to overindulge on the gifts provided to them, some even looked to be talking to each other, using the loudness of the tavern to speak in secrecy 'Such a pity, even If i were to get close enough to such conversations I'd only hear bits and peaces, barely enough to get the gist of things'

Taking a nice sip from his ale he new there would be one thing that would make this night even funner, one thing that could allowed him to lighten his boredom and vent any frustrations he may have ' A brawl' he smiled warmly at the though as he looked at his gauntlets 'But....' He turned his eyes to the behemoth whom, if he was not mistaken, was the generous host of the evening ' I wouldn't to cross him. As kind as as death is, I wouldn't want to cross a man who looked able enough to rip him in half and certainly had a good number of 'friends' about him. If a brawl were to occur, some drunkard will have to be the one to start it. Even better if the Host were to be the one to start it" He said with a wide smile , he only need wait and enjoy the free goodies provided.

Ikbin smiled to himself. He realized that this woman was the exact kind of person he'd been looking for. He leaned in closer and continued to speak softly in Ana's ear so no one could hear him but her.

"I am no idiot," he whispered. "The chest will be locked and so will the room that it's inside of, but no worries. You recall my run-in with the waitress? She is the matron of the whores, and the Tavern Keeper's trusted assistant. She keeps on her person one of two key rings at all times, the other is kept by the Tavern Keeper himself. Well, she was too much in pain to notice that I snatched them from her. The ring has both the chest key and the store-room key."

As he spoke, he glanced at the Tavern Keeper who was eyeing them suspiciously. Fearing they might have been jeopardized he quickly did something rash. He slid his hand over Ana's waist and pulled her closer to him and buried his head in the hair that hung down beside her neck.

"Do not react to this! Play along; just ask as if I'm wooing you when I speak," he said softly below her ear. "I fear we may be compromised already, we need to put up a facade quickly if we are to succeed."

He leaned back and smiled falsely at Ana, hoping that she would in fact, play along with his scheme. He signaled the Tavern Keeper, a priestly looking fellow and asked him how much for a room.

(Drunken Fish) The party of all parties (open to all)

Postby Daniel Alecson on January 23rd, 2012, 2:05 am

It didn't take very long for Daniel's tea to seep, he merly finished the sentece he was writing and closed the book, wiping the excess ink from the quill on the cuff of his sleeve before closing it too into the book. Corking the ink vial he slipped it and the book back into his rucksack before pouring himself a mug of tea. Done with his writing he took a quick survey of the tavern, sipping his still steaming tea rather frequently. There wasn't too much to see, things had setlled down a bit now, although the party was still in full swing. No longer were people rushing to the bar, most had their drinks and had retreated to tables and many had grabbed seats. Although a few still milled about chatting and being merry. Daniel was dissapointed, this crowd wasn't the kind that looked inclined to offering him a job. Daniel was half tempted to gather up his things and try his luck at another tavern.

That was until the violent man from earlier caught his eye, he was sitting by the rather frightened woman he'd been moving towards earlier. They were whispering and looking rather suspicious, it was the kind of suspicious Daniel was familiar, the whispers of criminals talking about a job. Daniel smiled this was a good oppurtunity for him, no matter how he played his cards he could likely benefit from this encounter. Daniel had finished his mug of tea and quickly poured himself another from the kettle. Daniel pulled his coin pouch from his pack, tying it to his belt but haniging it within his pants, the weight against his leg would be hard to steal without him feeling it, especially with it's close proximity to a rather sensetive area. Everything else Daniel left behind taking only his swords, the mug of hot tea and the safely tucked away coinpouch, he wasn't worried about much else as long as he held his coin and swords everything else could be replaced.

Daniel began walking towards the two as he saw the man pull the woman close to him, it was a weak ploy to try and make their intentions appear different, at this point it was too late though. Daniel may not know exactly what they were planning but he knew they were up to something. Daniel stopped just before their table standing at his full height he looked down at the two, the steaming mug in his right hand. Daniel was close enough to hear and be heard by the two even if speaking in hushed whispers.

"It is rather obvious you are planning something illegal over here. So tell me what is to stop me from turning you over to the tavernkeep and earni,ng myself a few free day's of rest", Daniel's voice was soft and polite despite the implication he was making. Daniel had spoken softly enough that only those two would hear him, or maybe somone with the ears of a wolf. Daniel took a short sip of his tea letting his words sink in before he continued.

"Even if you plan nothing, it wouldn't be hard to convince him you were planning to rob him blind. You do look rather suspicious over here. Make it worth my while and I just might help you. Otherwise I see free lodging in my future", Daniel's voice remained civil and polite, as if merely complimenting the lady on her hair. Daniel's face however was stern and it was obvious he'd meant every word of what he'd just said. No matter what happened here Daniel would likely be walking away on the right side of things.

"A room? Cost? Well, None for you I mean..."

The "tavern keeper stopped laughed a bit and clapped Daniel on the shoulder as he smiled a shark's smile."Nonsense my boy. These two aren't planning any trouble aren't they? They just wanted a room."

He'd take a moment to turn and motion towards the 'Matron of the whores" to come over.

The "matron of whores" just looked at him for a moment And she wasn't in his employ. She wasn't the matron of whores anyway... in fact she wasn't usually there at all, but he recognized her as someone who was owed a few favors from, even though he was one of the more neutral parties.

Linellia Ferral, aka Kallina and a bunch of other names, who the fool had bumped into earlier. She was flanked by two of the Night Eyes Enforcers in cognito. Ruthless killers who wouldn't hesitate to shank a man who was being an idiot. He knew she liked to come here to unwind when wanting to get away from her husband and he kept her part and profile low quite quiet when she was here... in return for some help from time to time, much like the rest of the crow. He'd even had her kill a few people for him before as well... she so did love to torture anything useful out of worthless vagabonds, normally with her husband and a set of bees held inside a burlap sack over some poor schmuck's head.

Of course, they wouldn't really know it.

In fact they wouldn't know it at all... Smiling a snake's smile, the good Mano'war finished. "The man said he was paying for drinks on him tonight for a party, well... what would a party be without a few extra rooms? I'll have my -uh- "matron" show you to where you wish to go?"

He turned quietly to the woman with the man, still smiling coldly, "Perhaps you'd like a few things to freshen up... Oh Gertsy." Kallina looked at him and arched an eyebrow, "I believe this young man who bumped into you when you were having a drink on the house wanted a room. Would you be so kind to show them?"

The woman looked at him a moment, then subtly, out of sight and perception of either of the two's observations noted her keys were missing to her chest... a chest all the way at the simpering seacow. For a moment the woman would smile, and then take a look at the pair of 'lovers.' "Oh my what a strong looking man you are? Sure... I'll show you to a room." She'd look at the curvaceous thief ,Ana...

She'd reach over to trace the arc of the woman's jaw, her voice almost purring as she began to act the part that seemed to fall into her lap, like a true professional she was. Pouting a little she let out out a slight laugh as her voice began to simper like a whore. "Are you sure you want a night to be with him dear?" She would pause and give Ana's covered form a once over, letting her finger trail over the girl's lips, down the soft skin of the cleft of her chin, and down her slender neck to rest down just above below the small valley of her her throat where her collarbones met. "I think I might fancy you myself."

IkbinPlease fix your CS and do not post until after such is done. There's also a slight skill and npc abuse issue cropping up here ; if you really want to make a try for the tavern's gold, :) You could try. >:)

Postby Ana Sol Starris on January 23rd, 2012, 3:34 am

Ana thought a moment, he had the keys and that would make her job oh so much easier to do without having to worry about the petching locks. More and more she agreed to this, knowing she'd get alot out of such a heist, she'd escape with a ton of cash! Oh how he would be proud she grinned, showing off her white teeth thinking of a certain man she had met way before this. Still she listened to him, looking out from under her hood she had chosen to scan the room out of curiosity. To see the man with the book walking towards them slowly, her eyes widened lightly but could not be seen directly from outside the hood before she lowered them back to Ikbin.

Following her crime partners gaze to the bar keeper through a quick glance, not looking directly at the priestly fellow. The warnings began to shout through her head that she should escape while she can, shoving them down, there was too much at stake to risk passing this up, namely alot of gold. Feeling a foreign limb wrap around her waist, she gave a slight but choked yelp; acting as if she had been stung. His sudden action had taken her by surprise and she flinched, heart racing hard, she didn't like being close to people that would hurt others for a simple mistake. Senses doubled up in paranoia, she tried hard to keep her body from trembling and her breathing even.

This man wasn't one you let your gaurd down around, hes not one you'd let so openly close to, Ana understood that but the audacity to think she'd go that far. The insane mans voice didn't help soothe her or reassure her, but she nodded her head anyways trying to push slightly away. The close proximity was getting on the girls nerves, but she couldn't think of anyway to get past his idea. Again, he was right, the plan could work but she didn't want to be alone with him. At least being in a room filled with drunkards, cut throats, and troublemakers she was safe in an idea of having some sort of quick acted protection.

Though when the writer had accused them rightfully of coniving, and then the bar man and the matron, it was too much. Blinking, she looked up at the womans face and saw the cunning but didn't think anything of it, she heard the purring, but she couldn't react. You're too much of a child, Ana.. She told herself, the whores finger traced her upper body lightly and the little theif's mind almost stupifyed. Is she.. Whats she doing? The inexperienced girl thought to herself, shaking her head and again disentangling herself having come to her senses. Common sense always won, what had she been thinking? The three had most likely brought her back into reality without really realizing it, from a insane mans plan.

"No madam, I think hes had a little too much to drink" she started off "it started off as simple talk," glancing at Ikbin from her perephrials somewhat shamefully "you know how some things go." She finished off hoping she had played her cards right. Ana could tattle but wheres the honor in that? If Ikbin kept quiet so would she, simple as that. Standing up, she didn't want to be in his way if he began raging, following the caution ringing in her head even more so. Though now she feared this insane man, if he left the tavern before she, he'd most likely wait for her. Or if Ana left early, he'd most likely follow after her then rob and kill her.

The options were evident, she was to stay in the bar till she was certain she could have some form of assurance she wouldn't be attacked by this man. Of course this was all paranoia, she had no way of really knowing if this would happen or not. The shame though, lingered there not from Ikbin but because of her own stupidity again, she had to be more leader like, more like her role models..

(Drunken Fish) The party of all parties (open to all)

Postby Ossshamamora on January 23rd, 2012, 3:41 am

OOCI wasn’t sure if I could join in so late but it seemed as if everyone is still in the introductory stage or barely meeting, so I thought, why not? But if it’s closed or too full let me know and I will delete my post…posthaste!
Snow.

It was water and yet it was frozen and therefore useless in her mind. Useless and cold. Damnable cold. And until a few moments ago she had been warm and peaceable, sleeping contently underneath the
Drunken Fish. The heat from the bar flowing downwards and creating a warm cocoon along with her clothes piled on top of her...

Then noise.

Shouting and stomping, the once much less rowdy tavern was full to bursting, the floor creaking, raucous laughter and other noise floating down along with drops of ale slipping through cracks. How she loathed these humans and their spirits, if she had half a stomach for it she would gladly devour the lot of them.

Reigning in her already short fused temper she allowed herself to slip into her human form, the feel of scales sliding back and hair spouting between the skin, the popping and stretching. It all happened in only half a minute but the finishing second always sent a pleasurable shiver up her spine. But her moment of brief enjoyment ended as once more the noise broke through her thoughts, gripping her clothes angrily she slunk along the cold, hard ground and out from under the tavern.

Not bothering with her shoes she slipped her pants on and shoved her arms though her tunic in a quick, angry fashion, not bothering to tie it. In her human form and away from the little cocoon she had built herself the light falling snow seemed to pierce her more than the cold, stale air. Pulling her sack from her hiding place she grabbed her whip and belt before shoving the pack back in its hiding spot. She did not know how to use the weapon but she doubted it would be that hard to strangle someone.

Upon entering the Drunken Fish Amora was met with a blast of warm air, already stumbling bodies and groping hands. For an instant she thought of leaving and finding another home to nest under but the sudden chill of air on her back made her decision for her, her hatred of the cold mixed with her distaste for the bumbling fools filling the bar.

Turning to the nearest said fool, she nearly snarled at him while ripping his hand away from her, normally it would not bother her but the weather had already put her in a foul mood.
“Release me!”

“But pretty lady~”

Though she had no fangs in her human form, she still bared her teeth and hissed at the man irritably, torn between wanting to bite him with or without her sharper teeth and cuddling up to the warmth the seemed to escape his body life a walking fire pit.

Deciding he was much to disgusting, even for a human, she slunk away, keeping herself close to the bar and creeping along the shadows until she reached the bar. Settling herself, she took in the room fully from her vantage point.

It would be a good night for thieves. She herself was barely learning the trade but only a fool would pass up the opportunity to rid the drunken fools of their mizas. Still, it was none of her concern, her only concern was making sure she knew all exits when things when went, for things would most definitely go wrong. Having a good picture of what she would do when things inevitable went wrong she waved over one of the ‘maidens’.

“Warmed water.”

“That’s it? I can’t interest a pretty lady like you in anything else?” Flicking her gaze over the young women, Amora smiled slightly.

“Perhaps later.”

Waiting for her water though, was quickly forgotten when a small altercation caught her attention, two important humans for the bar, all in the same area. Already a theft gone wrong. Could humans do nothing right?

She nearly stood to wander over and watch the entertainment play out but something—someone else caught her eye. Another patron drinking water? The pale little thing looked out of place. Eyes alight with interest Amora scooted toward the other woman, she said nothing but stared at her openly, waiting for the other to speak first and keeping an eye on her exits.

(Drunken Fish) The party of all parties (open to all)

Postby Daniel Alecson on January 23rd, 2012, 4:29 am

Daniel was slightly startled by the sound of someone speaking to him, although the only real notice of this would be by the moving of his left hand towards his left hip. Daniel hadn't drawn his swords, hadn't even placed his hand upon the hilt. The movement was a jerk reaction from being suprised from behind, in the time it took him to move his hand he'd been able to discern that the speaker wasn't making a threat. The pat on the shoulder however made Daniel's lip curl slightly, he didn't particularlly like being touched by strangers, who knows the last time he washed his hands. As he continued speaking though Daniel quickly gathered that it was the tavern keep. Daniel didn't know how much the tavernkeep had heard of his little "speech" but Daniel was gonna play it of as best he could.

"Well then I must apologize, I had jumped to the wrong conclusions and only hoped to prevent you and your establishment from hardship. Despite your kind offer I must decline, I could never accept a room free of charge without rendering some service",, Daniel said turning to the tavernkeep, his voice and face a masque of politeness and kindness. However the approaching woman with extra men caused Daniel's eyes to narrow slightly, this might just end very badly. Daniel had to think quickly, if he went through the correct motions he might still make it out of this without trouble. If need be he could fight his way out, any outbreak of violence was likely to spark a tavernwide brawl which would be most helpful for his current situation. Since Daniel had given his name to no one since entering the tavern he could easily make a break for it and not have to worry about them searching for him with anything more than a description. There was another option, a much more promising option that just might work if he had any of his father's flare.

Daniel turned to face the newcomers as well, a kind smile on his face. He observed the two men, they seemed no different than many of the others here but something about how they held themselves spoke of a confidence that came of accomplishment. Daniel could only assume they were fighters the way they flanked the woman, then there was the woman herself. Daniel reckognized she was the woman who the man behind him had twisted the arm of earlier, something of her two spoke of a more sinister thing hidden just beneath. His observations complete Daniel knew what his plan must be.

"I wouldn't wish to impose on your kindness good sir. I will simply go back to my table, finish my tea and be off with my gear." Retreat was the best option in this instance, Daniel felt he might be able to fight off one of these men but two of them might be difficult. Not to mention the woman and the barkeep. Daniel had no idea of the skill or the affiliation of the man and woman now standing behind him. They might just as well stab him in the back as defend themselves, however the words of the woman implied she was more likely to make a break for the door should any fighting break out. However Daniel knew his honeyed words might not be able to dissuade them, he'd never been much for convincing others; plus the way the tavern keep spoke implied he might have plans for the would-be-conspiritors.

"I don't imagine you would have a problem with this? Would you?" Daniel said his tone still polite and civilized, however on would notice a slight shift in his stance, causing his cloak to open a little more on the left side, his left hand now falling onto the top most hilt of his now revealed wakizashi's. One looking closely might also notice the knuckles on Daniel's right hand whiten slightly as he gripped the mug of hot tea he had yet to put down. Daniel had it planned out already, should they deny him his leave Daniel would throw his tea into the face of the nearest of the woman's escorts, throwing the mug at the other, before drawing his wakizashi with his left hand in a reverse grip, ready to defend himself. Should they allow him his leave though Daniel would simply walk back to his table quietly.
