August's winner, Aello, selected To Cure the Sick as the Featured Thread for September. Here's her review!

A Ravokian to my very core, it seems only natural to choose a featured thread from the city of chaos. For although it is a land of dark reputation, it holds many a glimmering gem, if only you take the time to pull back the veil and have a look around.

It is not often that we get to take a look into the past, considering the relatively young age of most pcs, which perhaps, is what added to this thread's appeal, not only in that it was well written, but in that it encompasses a nature not oft looked into. A subject matter and a tone which many may consider a bit, taboo.

The thread opens with an opportunity posed by a man who has lived too many lives to count. Being the younger, curious being that she is, Evalin finds herself following Rayage to his lab, where he offers the gift of immortality. This is the story behind the Chained One; the page describing just how she came to be one of the undead.

It is fascinating in that I don't know of any other having played out the ritual. It is engaging in the sense that although not very much is actually happening, each writer puts a lot of detail into describing every passing moment. Every thought. Every sight. Every sense. Making the thread both vivid and surreal.

All in all, I think it is a rather well done thread which delves into the driving forces behind those seeking another chance at life, and the thoughts which run through the minds of those who already have it.

Hopefully, you enjoy it just as much as I! Good job you two!

Congratulations to Rayage and Evalin!

Congrats Rayage and Evalin!

It was really interesting to see an IC description of becoming a Nuit. It's such a significant event for a PC, and I think you two played it out really well. I especially enjoyed the philosophies surrounding fate, death and time. Evalin, I loved reading your PC's inner thoughts. She knew it was a huge (and literally life-changing) decision to make, and I think you did a wonderful job of writing that out! & Ray, your manipulation was so delightfully wicked. Well done, both of you!

Thank you all so much! I have to say this was so completely unexpected for me. I got the PM and my eyes went 0.0. Hehe it feels good to know that others enjoy my writings as much as I enjoyed writing it :)

Wretched Aura: As a Wretched One Evalin possesses an unnatural aura about her that causes unease in those who get too close. It can come as a prickle of the hair on the back of the neck, a sense of 'wrongness' about her. How people experience it is different depending on their personality and how they handle the unnatural and unknown. Animals tend to become more agitated, more easily sensing how wrong Evalin is and often avoiding contact with her.
