I figured I'd post here to get started with a Myrian character. I'm still working on my CS but I might end up having some questions or needing general help. Nice to meet you all!

I've been doing a ton of reading and I still haven't figured everything out. It's fun though. I'm working on making a character now and trying to get started. Any tips? Also, I'm wondering whether Myrians would be sent out into the other areas only if they were scouts or as a rite of passage etc. And is there established information about the different clans of Myrians? I haven't really decided which clan my character is a part of yet.

My only real tip is take your time. It is soooo much to take in and read, so much reading, but it will all become clear with time. As for the traveling thing, I am unsure how far you mean, within Falyndar there's a lot of call. Myrians patrol around Zinrah, trade with Black Rock, and scout throughout the jungles. Pilgrimages outside of Falyndar are also common. As for clans there is this thread which is worth a look. You can make your own clan if you want, I have made a semi-official list of current clans Founder and PC made so there's no weird name overlaps, and feel free to grab an un-developed one as well if you wish.

I'm thinking about my character and looking at the starting package. I'm to the home part of the characters. Would the Myrians typically start with a home to themselves or would they share a home?

Myrians generally live with their clan in a communal longhouse/ set of longhouses. You might have your own little shack in your clan's complex, whether that be in or outside of Taloba, but you're still among clan mates and such.
