Wait, one of the NaNo challenges is to write a journal/book; I thought Journals were counted as IC? It says so in that forum.

Character Journals
Feel free to start IC Journaling in this forum. Each character is allowed threads here where they can store notes they learn IC, facts, or even talk about their feelings and inner thoughts. Journals don't need to be in written form, they be anything you as a player thinks suits the personality of the Characte.r

If you want to write a book, you should do so in the main IC forums. Several people have done so in the past, myself included. But no, I'm not counting the journals forums because pretty much anything goes and it's not subject to any real moderator control. If it's coherent enough to be posted in your city with a little third person introduction, then why not do it and earn writing XPs in the process?

November 8th. Week 1 is gone, and the hard part of NaNo now begins in earnest. Chances are the adrenaline that fueled you so far is waning, and the sheer size of 50k words - or 500k, or whatever your target is - is dawning on you. Keep going! Weeks 2 and 3 are the hardest, but it will get better. And by the look of things, we may even get our first winner tomorrow.
