Postby Severus on February 3rd, 2014, 6:53 pm

2nd of Winter, 513 AV, Midmorning.
Severus walked into the bazaar, obviously needed armor and a new crossbow as his had broken quite some time ago. He first saw the armor stall, he walked up and began looking at their selection of armors. They had everything, from leather to isurian steel. Though he was quite to poor to buy anything of the sort currently.

He decided he would go with a set of leather armor for now, he asked the merchant for a set of leather armor which included: a helmet with a chin guard, breastplate, greaves, and vambraces. He handed the man the money tottalling 64 GM. Knowing he would also need a place to store his armor when not in his use he also purchased a armor mannequin.

Armor:
Secret :
Helmet with Chin Guard(leather): 10 GM
Arm, Vambrace(leather): 10 GM
Breastplate(leather): 32 GM
Greaves(leather): 12 GM
Armor mannequin: 12 GM

Total: -76 GM

He instructed the stall owner to have someone deliver it to his room at the white swan inn and walked further into the market. Eventually he reached a stall carrying all sorts of bows and arrows. He walked up to the counter and quickly saw the items he wanted. He motioned over to the owner to come over so he could tell him what he wanted.

He purchased a light crossbow, a large quiver, and enough bolts to fil it twice. He handed the man the money tottalling 80 GM.

Arrows and Bow:
Secret :
Crossbow, light: 50 GM
Quiver, Large(50): 20 GM
Crossbow Bolts(10) x 10: 10 GM

Total: -80 GM

As he had done with the armor he instructed the stall owner to deliver his purchases to the white swan inn so he could receive them when he got back. Feeling he now had everything
he needed he proceeded to walk back towards the inn, hoping his purchases would be there to meet him when he returned.

Postby Serynia on February 14th, 2014, 8:17 am

74th Day of Winter, 513 A.V.

Feeling the cold air, Serynia pulls her brown wool cloak closer around her shoulders. She was on her way home from the Employment Office when she decided that she needed to go shopping for a few items. Not entirely sure where to go, she politely stops a kind looking man.

"Excuse me sir. I'm looking for a place to do some shopping. Do you know where I might go?"

"Sure. You'll be wanting to go to the Great Bazaar. It's located on the fourth basement floor of Stormhold Citadel."

Serynia thanked him and made her way in the direction that the man had told her. When she arrived at the Great Bazaar, she could see stalls and stalls of vendors everywhere.

Browsing around, one stall that sold books caught her eye. She decided to buy a blank book with a leather cover. With no one to talk to, the idea of starting a journal had been on her mind. She also ended up buying a quill and a vial of ink as well. She pulled out 4 gold mizas and 5 copper mizas to pay the vendor and placed her purchases in her backpack.

Her one outfit that she wore was also starting to look a little worse for wear and she figured it wouldn't hurt to have another outfit. She saw a clothing stall that had some dresses that caught her eye. She ended up buying a blue cotton dress, a silk chemise, a belt, and a pair of shoes. Again she paid the vendor and continued on her way.

Starting to feel a little tired, she decided it was enough shopping for the day and heads towards home.

[Syliras Location] The Great Bazaar

Postby Ethan Ironhorse on February 23rd, 2014, 8:45 pm

78th Winter, 513 AV
Great Bazaar

Ethan awoke early that morning to go out and start buying the equipment he would need for his trip to Zeltiva. For the last ten or so days Ethan had been inquiring with teamsters and farmers on the use of carts, wagons, and the difference in oxen versus horses. Horses, even draft horses tended to be the better animal for speed, but oxen could haul more per pound and required less grain since they could graze on the grass along the way. Of course, Ethan didn’t have that much to haul, all his worldly possessions weighed less than two hundred pounds. Part of him thought about just buying a horse and several mules to pack the grain and rations on. The problem was that the oxen and cart was only a few more gold miza’s and Ethan could bring trade goods with him.

For the previous two days Ethan went back and forth between the decision. Either, he would have more cart space and run the risk of a broken axle or wheel out in the middle of the wilderness, or he would have three trailing mules and have to take care of four animals. It was time to finally make a decision and since Ethan didn’t want the cost of stabling a great deal of animals he decided to go with a single draft horse and a cart. It was going to take some time getting use to the horse, but hopefully the combination of the two would give him the best possible speed and allow him the maximum amount of space. So Ethan gathered his money and went out to buy supplies for his trip.

Horse, Cart and Feed :
Draft Horse (Zarvian) 200 gm
Cart 15 gm
Cart Yoke 5 gm
Spare Wheels and Axle 10 gm
Feed, Grain (200 lbs at 5 cm/10 lbs) = 1 gm
Stabling (12 days at 5 sm) = 6 gm
Rations (45 days at 5 sm) = 24gm 5 sm

Ethan knew that he couldn't just show up with trade goods and hope that some merchant would buy them, and from what he heard from Lucas, Ethan knew that food in Zeltiva would be scarce if not all together impossible to get. Zeltiva survived on fish and trade with other ports, grains and roots came from Syrilas. If Ethan wanted to live in Zeltiva for any great length of time he was going to need a small garden that would all him to eat. He bought some potatoes, carrots, and onions knowing that the root vegetables would help keep during winter and have relative short growing seasons. Of course that would mean that he would have to plant and take care of them, but better then finding out that he would be able to eat. In addition to the roots Ethan bought a cask or two of apple cider. Finally, he went to the Ironworks and bought three items; an anvil, a pair of tongs, and a blacksmith hammer. Ethan knew enough of his trade that he could produce any other tool needed from these basic three. Besides Ethan want to be able to setup his own shop or at least alcove to do the work. Lastly he bought a lock chest to carry his money in.

Food and Tools :
Two Casks of Apple Cider 1 gm
Three stacks of Carrots, Onions, and Potatoes 4 gm
Anvil 45 gm
Tongs 6 sm
Blacksmith Hammer 5gm
Locked Chest 10gm
Total 327 gm 1 sm

[Syliras Location] The Great Bazaar

Postby Rion Whitestone on March 18th, 2014, 10:24 pm

Spring 17th, 514 A.V.

"That'll be three silver mizas." Rion jumped as the man behind the stand demanded for his payment. The farmer had all but forgotten the fact that he wasn't in a regular store with the excitement of finding his new treasure. He had actually decided to go the Great Bazaar - a market place Rion literally searched for days trying to find - for this particular purchase...A black mask so as to hide his face without melting under the heat of the sun. But that was only one of the reason he came there. The other was simply because The Great Bazaar was the one stop shop for everything Rion could possibly need on his journey - and anything he thought he might "need".

"Sure thing," Rion spoke as he dug through his pockets. Because he had used all his bags to carry food with, Rion had to carry his money out in his pockets and hope nobody was attracted by the jingle of gold coins. Plucking out a gold Miza, Rion was about to hand it to the man when he noticed something else that caught his attention. It was one of the most expensive things at the stand, if not the most expensive. "Hey what is that stuff?" Rion inquired. It was some strange material called "Flash Powder." Apparently you were supposed to ignite it somehow and it would do the rest. Rion assumed it was just a bomb.

"Never know when something like that could come in handy," he spoke, taking out even more Mizas. With his mask now in his possession, he abruptly covered his face so nobody else could discover who he was. And with the combination of mask and hood, Rion became a somewhat disturbing figure to the rest of the world.

With one task completed, Rion decided to browse even more stands to see what other items he could procure. At an armor stand, he thought about becoming fully plated like the Syliran Knights, but settled on only buying a Chain Shirt because it was the lightest thing he could find that actually protected him. When he bought this, he was offered a steel cap as an accessory, but Rion ended up throwing this item out since he already had a mask to hide his face. However, he would add a pair of gauntlets that he found in a weapons stand not too far away. The last thing he wanted was a repeat of what happened last time...

Before Rion left, he decided to buy a few of the tools he had been needing to purchase for a while. A bowl - he would have gotten a pestle with it if he could have actually found one - so that he cold mix herbs, a fishing kit - because he couldn't go a whole season or two without any of his fish - because he had no idea how to fish exactly, climbing claws - since climbing proved much more effective than running away - since he actually knew little about climbing trees, and a pouch so that he had somewhere to put all of his money. He also bought a rucksack since all the items were making his backpack a bit overcrowded.

Items :
• Gaunlets: 2 gm/20 sm/200 cm
• Chain Shirt: 100 gm/1,000sm/10,000cm
• Mask: 3 sm/30cm
• Flash Powder: 75 gm/750 sm/7,500 cm
• Climbing Claws: 8 gm/80 sm/800 cm
• Fishing Kit: 10 gm/100sm/1,000cm
• Rucksack: 1 gm/10sm/100cm
• Pouch, belt: 1 gm/10sm/100cm
• Bowl 7" / 16 oz: 3 cm

Total :
- 356.67 gm

"Give me the cheapest bow, quiver, and arrows you have,"Athaera demanded. Asking for the price, she watched impatiently as the man before her scrambled to fetch the items she asked for."Six," she replied when asked how many arrows were needed. Tossing the payment of nineteen Mizas on the table, she walked away with her purchase.

[Syliras Location] The Great Bazaar

Postby Minerva Ravitz on August 3rd, 2014, 11:50 pm

43rd of Summer, 514 AV

Minerva browsed the bazaar, making haste to avoid being hassled by the many shopkeepers hawking their wares. She would undoubtedly be talked into buying some useless trinket from some far-off land and regretting the purchase later. With a bit of difficulty, she reached a stall that sold writing supplies. "Give me 20 sheets of paper, 5 quills, and 3 bottles of regular ink." She skipped the pleasantries, desperate to procure these mapping supplies. Granted, bottles of ink would prove to be cumbersome, but it's not like she had to draw her map while moving... right? After a little bit of discussion with the shopkeep, she made her purchase and was on her way.

[Syliras Location] The Great Bazaar

Postby Maia Stonesoul on September 23rd, 2014, 11:03 pm

514AV fall day1, morning

Maia walked past shop after shop in the bazaar, scanning each for the items he was looking for. Finally he came across one shop with an assortment of different daggers and throwing weapons laid across the table. Maia browsed the collection before pointing out what he wanted to the shopkeeper
"Good day sir, I would like to purchase ten of these little throwing stars, five of the throwing daggers here...no no not that one, it looks a little worn.... Hmm let's see..."
Maia looked through the collection for one more item.
"The little dagger right there and that will be all sir"
The shopkeeper set the chosen weapons to the side and said
"That'll be fifteen mizas"
Maia dug around in his pockets, pulled out the fifteen he needed, and placed them in the shopkeeper's open hand.
"Thank you sir" Maia thanked the shopkeeper as he grabbed his new weaponry and walked away, placing them in the pockets inside his coat one at a time.
Maia was heading out when he spotted one little stand that caught his eye. Nothing special was immediately noticeable when you looked at this stand, it had a few art supplies on its table. But next to them was a small cage in which was a large reptile. Maia ran over to the stand and stuck his finger in between the bars on the cage. The lizard looked one eye at the finger and slowly walked over to it. Maia watched with anticipation as it made its way over. The lizard was now right in front of Maia's finger, it lifted one foot and set it on top of it.
Maia slammed his fist down on the table, startling the shopkeeper.
"I'LL TAKE HIM!"
The shopkeeper gave Maia a strange look. "Really?... You want the iguana?..."
"Yes"
"Are you sure?"
"Yes sir"
"Do you even know how to take ca-"
"How much is it!!"
"47 mizas..."
Maia scrabbled to get out the money and set it on the table.
"Welp...he's all yours" the shopkeeper unlocked the cage. Maia stuck his hand in and let the iguana crawl up onto his shoulder.
"We gotta think of a name for you little fella" Maia said petting his new friend, marketing his way out of the bazaar.

5th Day of Fall, 514 AV, 18th Bell

Morgan was walking among the many shops of the Great Bazaar, being careful not to trip, as the Bazaar was crowded with people. Wincing several times because of inconsiderate customers, she finally got to the shop she was looking for. She searched the items with her eyes and then she turned to the shopkeeper.

"Hello, I would like a Hunting toolkit, this nice game knife and two empty sacks, please."

The shopkeeper smiled at her kindly. "Ah, a new hunter, are you? Of course, here you are. That will be 25 golden Mizas for the toolkit, 2 silver Mizas for the sacks and 3 copper Mizas for the knife." And he looked at her expectantly.

Morgan fished through her pockets and pulled out the requested coins. "Here, thank you." She took the newly acquired items and left the Bazaar quickly.

[Syliras Location] The Great Bazaar

Postby Hemis on February 1st, 2015, 6:05 pm

33, Winter 514- Morning

Hemis was going about his usual merry way, bobbing up and down excitedly as he entered the bazaar. The nice owner from the Traveler's Row suggested that he take a look at the market, as it was the place that had a wide selections for whatever the young weird one might need or want for almost any reason or possible project; which, as it would occur two days from now, was his venturing into the nearby forested areas to see what could be learned and appreciated. With that in mind, he ventured to various booths and stalls to see what wares each vender had in his or her stock.

There was a wide assortment of peoples who decided to set up shop, and the items that each of these store owners boasted in good quality at good rates were just as interesting. These were hard-headed scruffy elder folk, suave and charismatic salesmen with a nice pitch, honest-to-goodness marketeers who actually took pride of their repute and reliability, and the young upstarts who sought to prove themselves while adding a new spin to their advertisement strategies. The giddiness being enough for Hemis's puffy hair stand on-end, the strange little person went and purchased the items he needed for his trek, being surprisingly mindful of how much of his funds he was spending.

List below were the items Hemis has just purchased:
1 Traveler's Stock (3gm)
1 Winter blanket: dyed brown at a clothing store (5sm x 1.5= 7sm, 5cm)
1 Shovel (2gm)
10 Honey candies (5sm)
1lb of cheese (2sm)
1 Table spoon (1cm)
1 Carving knife (3cm)
1 Backpack (2gm)
1 waterskin (1gm)
Total cost= 9gm, 4sm, 9cm

With his purchases made, Hemis waved goodbye in both enthusiasm and happiness, as he scurried back to the Traveler's Row to sort and prepare for his little adventure.

Orin Fenix
Food Equals Love

30, Winter, 514

Orin rubbed his hands together nervously. As always, the Great Bazaar was crowded with people. The crowds jostled him as he walked, eying the stalls. The murmur of conversation was punctuated by the cries of various wares. The variety of scents assaulted his nose, from animal waste to expensive spices, all mixing together in a bewildering whole. All in all, this wasn't his favorite location, but it was a necessary evil.

As Orin idly browsed, a particular phrase caught his ear.
"Weapons! Daggers, swords, bows, I got 'em all! Orin angled his way towards the piercing voice and soon found himself in front of a fairly plain stall that showed exactly what the owner said it did. Metal gleamed and the warm wood of unstrung bows shone faintly. The stall keeper saw she had a customer and grinned.

Seeing a pair of matching daggers, Orin felt compelled to pick them up. He didn't feel comfortable with anything larger, but somehow these felt right in his hands. While Orin didn’t fight, the sight of knights patrolling the city had made him feel oddly guilty. Orin really didn’t want to be a burden on anyone. Having to be rescued by the knights, even if it was their job, would be mortifying. So, having something to defend himself somehow felt right. Which is why he had stopped at this stall in the first place. Shyly, he turned to the stall owner. Sensing a sale the woman held out her hand.
”That’ll be four golden mizas” Grumbling at the price, Orin nevertheless dug the coins out of his purse. He handed them over. The woman thanked him, and he attached the blades with their sheathes to his belt, one on each hip. They felt awkward there at first, and Orin resolved to wear them until the weight didn’t bother him anymore.
