Familiar Faces (Fallon)

Anna had made the same conclusion as Fallon had, that this Pascid was part of some higher class or aristocracy upon its homeworld. At the very least it was very quick to dismiss those upon the Lightface as being lesser beings compared to its own kin. The sorceress wondered how much of that was truly accurate and how much was merely arrogant posturing on its part, perhaps a little more exploration of Fyrden was in order. Grey eyes turned briefly to Fallon, who had in turn looked at her in a slightly unsure manner. The tall woman could see nothing wrong with her questions, as it kept within the theme of their questioning thus far.

“They are simply lesser by their very nature, though my own wise race is not for want of attempting to guide them down the correct paths.” Felixion spoke.

“In any event, I tire of this current line of questioning. I shall return to Fyrden now that our initial business is concluded, I suspect our next meeting will start off more pleasant than this one did.” The Pascid said, slowly sinking into the watery vortex with Anna tugging upon the Summoner’s Leash to assist it in its transition back to its homeworld.

Once the Pascid had vanished back through the Portal the vortex shut abruptly, the oily smell upon the air the only indication that it had ever existed. The sorceress drummed her fingers across her chin as she looked to Fallon, her expression carefully neutral. It would seem that a contact had been established upon the world of Fyrden, one Anna was happy to claim for herself as she somehow doubted Fallon could make proper use of Summoning. No thought was given towards what the other woman might have written in her journal, it simply had not occurred to Anna both as she had been working and after the Summoning itself.

Anna slowly started walking around the circle, her eyes gazing over the space where the vortex had existed. She did not speak for the longest time, crouching down near the circle and running a finger over the chalk circle lightly. This aspect of Summoning had not been something she had considered, dealing with entities beyond this world and gaining information about other worlds. This made two of the five sets of coordinates she now knew that she had explored, two worlds beyond her own made a little clearer. What more could lie out within their realm, just waiting to be discovered?

“Interesting. I had not expected something to come through the Portal so dramatically. Certainly more than a little full of itself, I certainly hope the majority of its race is not as such. However I’d say more was learned than not from the encounter.” Anna noted aloud, standing and walking back over to Fallon with a slight grin upon her face.

“A little different than things done at the University eh? There this might have earned expulsion but here it’s barely looked at as being abnormal. Quite a difference in policy, no? Much more… free. In some ways.” Anna said with a decidedly dark chuckle.

The tall woman moved back to the workstation and sat back down in her chair, her eyes looking back over the place where the Summoning Circles laid. She almost wanted to try another world today, to see what the other three could possibly have in store for her. The more coordinates she learned the purpose of, the more powerful she would become. Perhaps she could even gain a number of disposable followers or minions, who could truly say what was out there in the universe? It seemed so very large that Anna had no idea where to actually start.

"So. Any thoughts, dear Fallon?" Anna inquired.

Familiar Faces (Fallon)

There was a moment of stillness, watching the rippling creature speak one last time almost in a bored tone as its moment of teaching was swiftly brought to a close. For a moment Fallon gave a rock upon her heels, the last fleeting piece of composure as it slipped away and the portal snapped shut behind it. The air slipped from her lungs, her shoulders sagging and slipping as she ogled where it once was. Her lip gave a twitch, her eyes narrowed as she eased herself down onto her haunches. It took a few long chimes to truly work out what had just happened.

Annalisa had summoned something, she had a conversation with it, and then it left. Magic had been at play, something that boggled in the very core of her mind that was proving increasingly hard to comprehend. It certainly did make her stop and think for a while, her creased brow no doubt revealed the processes going on behind the green-blue orbs. There was only the subtlest of acknowledgement as the wizard moved once more begun to move, inspecting the circle with thought. Fallon dared not to speak, if anything due to her still turbulent thoughts.

Her fingers gave a trace upon the floor, subtly drawing out shapes on the surface. There was a tap, a chew upon the lip as she tried to flicker through what she needed to say or do. A statement had been made, and it was with her gaze once more that she focused solely upon the woman. Her eyebrow rose, a gentle testing of the words upon her tongue before she spoke up in a sheepish tone, "You're not... going to call on it again are you? I mean, seriously now?"

She held it for a moment, and then turned her sights back down to the floor. Hands came together, grasping, and wringing out the feeling before the digits flicked it away. No, there was no point in convincing otherwise. Annalisa was her own woman and most probably knew what she as doing. Besides, Summoning would undoubtedly not be her area of study Fallon would partake in.

"Different social policies," She gave a nonchalant shrug, "It also depends upon your definition of free and abnormality. In Sunberth they say they are the freest, and revel in the world without laws and policies to abide to. You can do whatever you want as long as you're willing to pay the price. Unless you're a found out mage," her finger rose at that point and drew a slicing motion across her throat in representation to what would be done to their kind. Still, the dark chuckle did not go unnoticed, and almost in reciprocation it was the scars that twitched angrily.

It was a bitter taste that was left in her mouth. Nothing was truly free, everything came with a price. With practice, with experimentation, by living and by dying. Sahova was no different in this regard, taking in the name of knowledge and understanding without any real benefit from what she could see. It was gently that Fallon brought herself up to her feet, the frowning expression having yet to truly lift as she moved back to the workstation. There was only a flicker of regard to her notebook, her fingers tracing the spine as she tried to still grasp upon what had happened.

"There are always thoughts, dear Annalisa. Though I feel I need to obtain some mental grounding as to what occurred then, beyond simply... what it is. T'is a lot to take on at once," she paused, then gave an incline of the head as she continued to filter through the scene, "I thank you for increasing my educational knowledge in that of magic tenfold. It has made me wanting to... think?"

Fallon is a Master of Intimidation, "At this level, a Master intimidator often unconsciously intimidates their target unless the intimidator monitors their stance, tone, and actions to prevent this. Master intimidators will nearly always have a reputation that precedes them unless they have taken special care to prevent it."
