Drunken endeavors [Airil]

The Konti opened her eyes and Markus would smile a little, knowing that she would probably soon begin to lie and cover up a lot of stuff, but he was still happy that she wasn't having a bad dream anymore. Even though her eyes darted from side to side like something was wrong.

"You were having a bad dream..." Markus said as he stepped away from her and sat down on the bed. Trying to keep his movement limited and as graceful as possible. So he wouldn't feel nauseous and puke all over her room. Would be a poor way to return her hospitality. Another headache split his head apart and he grimaced while holding his head.

"Damn it..." Markus said angrily as the pain continued. "Phew. Just some advice, Airil... Dont' drink as much as I did last night..." Markus said with a smirk on his lips. Ignoring how they had been a couple of days ago. She had brought him to her room when he could have been stumbling around all night or sleeping somewhere on the streets.

"Oh, and thank you for letting me sleep here. I hope I wasn't too difficult..."

Drunken endeavors [Airil]

Bad dreams was putting it mildly, but he had no way to know better. She watched him step away and move to sit on the bed, concern painting her face. He seemed to be in a lot of pain, something she couldn't help feeling a lot of sympathy for. It was hard to remember how dangerous he might be to her when he was looking so pathetic.

"I couldn't just leave you." She kept her voice to a minimum, hoping to spare him any more pain. "Are you hurt anywhere other than your head? Is there anything I can do to help?" He seemed to be willing to forget their fight for the moment, and she decided it was best to follow his lead. Soon enough, he would be gone again though she was worried that they might keep running into each other anyways.

She moved to rise from the chair. A sharp inhalation was the only indication of the pain she experienced as she put pressure on her injured wrist. It hadn't seemed that bad the night before, but the motionless of sleep had stiffened the muscles. She continued with her movement as if nothing had happened, crossing the small room to a basket that sat on top of the chest against the wall.

"I have some cookies here, you should try to eat a little something to settle your stomach." She was facing away from him as she spoke, taking the moment to draw her sleeve away from her wrist to survey the damage to find it had swollen up over night. Her eyes closed and she let out a soft sigh. There wasn't anything she could do about it, no way for her to tell how bad it actually was. She lifted the basket with her left hand, though rested her right hand on the handle as though using it to stabilize, and brought the basket over the table, drawing a cloth off the top.

"The innkeeper loves making cookies, so she sent some back with me." She looked back up at him.

Drunken endeavors [Airil]

Markus pulled off his shirt and undershirt. Not really caring if Airil was looking at him. He had felt some minor pain from different parts of his body, but it had all been overshadowed by the massive pain emanating from his skull. With his torso naked, he looked over his body for any scrapes or bruises. He immediately noticed one on his right shoulder. It wasn't that big, but it was still something that bothered him. He looked over the front of his body. Only finding the old minor scars that had dotted his body. Years of physical training left its marks. Both the good and the bad. For Airil would be able to see Markus' well-trained body. With the big muscle clearly defined. When she turned around that was.

"Ooh, cookies." Markus said happily. "Could you see my back if there are any marks or bruises back there?" He said as he noticed she had just placed the cookies on the table. "And could you take a cookie over here as well? Every time I stand up the room begins to spin and my stomach churns on itself." Markus said closing his eyes as his talking had spurred his brain to remind him of his stupidity in drinking so excessively.

Drunken endeavors [Airil]

Airil turned back around almost immediately, slightly embarrassed and very uncomfortable by his suddenly naked top but it wouldn't do much good. He had made a couple requests of her that would require she swallow her discomfort. She picked up a couple of cookies and turned back around, crossing the room to him and holding them out.

"Eat slowly." Once he'd taken them, she sat next to him, one leg hanging off the bed, the other folded under her, and gently laid a hand on his shoulder to prompt him to turn so she could properly see his back. The strangest feeling came over her when she touched him. She couldn't explain it, but for some reason she felt an intense desire to trust him. She stared at his back for a moment before remembering what she was supposed to be doing.

"There are a few small bruises, and a large one on your right side." She gently circled the bruise with her fingers, not actually touching it but wanting him to know exactly where it was.

The hand on his shoulder didn't move and she continued to sit, staring at the back of him silently. The strange feeling didn't seem to be dissipating. There was just something about it, something that him that made her want to trust him but she couldn't figure out exactly what it was or why the feeling had come so suddenly.

Markus took the cookies in his left hand, picking one out with his right and took a couple of bites out of it, he smiled a little. They tasted great. Cookies always tasted great, but with the linger taste of alcohol in his mouth, the cookies where a welcome change. He should probably get some regular breakfast after these, but they were a good start.

"Thanks." He said while eating the cookies slowly, as to not provoke his stomach to puke them up again. He listened to her and could almost feel her touch his back where the bruises were. The small ones he didn't mind, those would be gone in a while. It was the last on she talked about that made him uneasy. A large bruise would take time to heal and would probably hurt if anything touched it for a while. Of course, he could probably take the pain, after all, his brain felt like it was being split apart every 10 seconds or so. But it would be an annoyance indeed. Much like how his hand was an annoyance after he had hit the wall out of rage. He sighed loudly and began to eat his second cookie.

"You shouldn't have some magical healing power, should you?" Markus said, half-joking. He had heard of healing powers amongst the Konti. But, Airil, for some reason, didn't seem like the healing type. "Could you touch the large bruise, gently, I would like to know how much it might hurt later on..." Markus said biting into the cookie again. Hoping the Konti wouldn't hit him on the bruise. Then he might just fall to the ground and whine until all his pain just stopped bothering him.

"No healing gifts." She wanted to add that she had no gifts at all, the strange trust she felt pushing the words towards her lips. She held the comment back only for another one to slip out.

"I'm sorry." Her sudden apology was for much more than a lack of healing gifts and it was tempting to continue with an explanation, but when she thought about it, she wasn't sure he'd want to hear of an apology from her.

Her right hand continued to linger on his shoulder as she lightly laid her left hand on the bruise. "Like this?" She wasn't putting any pressure on the bruise, just resting her hand there. She was being careful not to cause him pain, though that was exactly what she was supposed to be testing.

She bit her lip, knowing what she wanted to ask. "Markus..."
The volume of her voice had dropped to just above a whisper. "Do you usually drink this much?"

Drunken endeavors [Airil]

Postby Markus Andres on October 20th, 2010, 2:20 am

Markus felt a shiver go through his body when the Konti touched his bruise. It felt uncomfortable, not that it hurt, but he could feel, that if the Konti should push a little, it would be a shiver of pain going through his body. He sighed and leaned down to pick up his shirt and undershirt. Finding the hole in the shirt, he sighed even harder. He held the shirt up high and poked through the fist sized hole in his favorite black shirt.

"You got to be kidding me" He said under his breath just when Airil asked about his drinking habits. "Err, no, I rarely drink this much. Don't worry, I had a good reason for getting this drunk last night. If only I could remember it..." He said trailing off, looking at the wall for a couple of seconds.

"So, do you know how to mend broken shirts then? - Sorry, I just noticed your sewing thing, while you slept." He began to munch on the last cookie she had brought over. Feeling sad that he had no more cookies and that his shirt was ruined. And of course that his brain was killing and his body was spotted with stupid bruises.

Drunken endeavors [Airil]

She had a feeling she knew what he had been trying to forget and it wouldn't be hard for him to remember again. She removed her hands from his back and rose from the bed. The strange feeling had dissipated though her urge to trust him still lingered. She held out her hands for the shirt, wanting to get a better look at it.

"May I see?"

She took it gently from his hands and carried it over to the table to lay it out. Fortunately, it appeared that none of the fabric had actually ripped away so mending it wouldn't be too hard, but she wasn't very skilled and it was such a nice shirt. She picked it back up, grabbed a couple more cookies and brought it all back over to him.

"I could, but I'm not as skilled as a tailor. It's such a nice shirt, I don't want to ruin it." She laid the shirt next to him and held the cookies out. She was having an internal debate about whether she should bring up the other day or continue to pretend it hadn't happened. Surely he hadn't actually forgotten and he might be upset if she brought it up. On the other hand he might be upset if he had somehow managed to forget and she kept on as if nothing was wrong between them.

Drunken endeavors [Airil]

Markus let Airil take the shirt and he contemplated following her to the table, but decided not to risk it with his uneasy stomach. He leaned a little back, resting on his elbows. When he looked down, he realized that he was still having a naked torso. He tried not to wince when another headache announced itself. He closed his eyes tightly and bit his teeth together. Hating the ebb and flow thing his headache had going. Couldn't it just get it over with so he could be doing something else than sit around in pain.

"Ooo, more cookies." He took them greedily and began to eat one of them. "It would please me if you could mend it for me." He said sending her a smile. It was hard for him to smile, because of the pain he was constantly feeling, not because of anything he held against her personally. He munched on the cookie happily, trying to ignore the painful thudding in his head. Most of all, he wanted to go back to sleep for another hour or so, but sleeping again would be mean. Especially since he had slept in the bed, so Airil had had to sleep on the chair.

"I mean, it is already ruined, you can't ruin something already ruined." Markus leaned back on the bed. Feeling a little sting from the bruise on his back. Seemed like he was going to sleep on the stomach or left side for the next couple of nights.

Drunken endeavors [Airil]

"Well, I suppose you need something to wear." She took the shirt back and put it back on the table before going to the chest and retrieving the necessary supplies as well as a strip of cloth that she used to bind her hair back while she worked. She sat down at the table and pulled the shirt into her lap. Her gnosis mark would be visible to him as she bowed her head and began to work.

"This will only take a short while. Perhaps you should try to sleep a little longer, I can wake you after a while."

Threading the needle wasn't difficult, nor was positioning the shirt as she needed it, but when she pulled the first stitch through, the pain in her wrist flared with the movement causing her to wince. This wasn't going to be as quick as she thought but she bit her lip and tried to ignore it. She tried to keep her wrist rigid as she continued to work, which only seemed to help a little. Overall, the stitches weren't turning out so badly but they'd be better if she had a full range of movement.

She would work silently for a while unless he spoke to her. Her progress on the shirt was slow and after a while she would have to put her work down and give her wrist a break.
