The Diamond of Kalea is located on Kalea's extreme west coast and called as such because its completely made of a crystalline substance called Skyglass. Home of the Alvina of the Stars, cultural mecca of knowledge seekers, and rife with Ethaefal, this remote city shimmers with its own unique light.

Attention Lhavit!

I have made edits to the magic section of the Atlas and here it is quoted for you so please check it out!

Magic is a thing of power, beauty and madness. It's possibilities and uses stretch far beyond the limits of mortal imagination, and yet mortals and immortals alike drink from the cup of mages in search of the mysteries of magic and spells to better themselves, their lives and what they hold dear. As with all things, however, magic comes at a price, most often being the sanity of the wielder or the sacrifice of their body or even soul. In spite of all of this Lhavit still holds a deep and unwavering respect for all things arcane, but that does not make them any less cautious in its use.

While it is not officially written in any of the city's scrolls of history, magic actually played a large part in the founding of Lhavit itself. It was the three main houses and their specific magical arts that brought about the rise of Lhavit, aided as they were by godly intervention to rise above the challenges presented to them at that time. Because of this there is a not so secret admiration and respect towards those who can use and manipulate the magics in any form. Indeed many mages will find Lhavit far more open and welcoming to the idea of them and what they do, but not so much in the open practice of their arts.

As is to be expected the magics most highly recognized, and respected, are the three main magics used by the three houses. The Twilight House is known for its mastery of morphing, and its various and unique uses of it. Dawn House boasts the most gifted and powerful reimancers and use their talents in various facets of the city, including defense against outside forces. Finally the Dusk House is praised for its talents in auristics, with only a handful knowing their other abilities in spiritism. These three main magics are most readily accepted by those in Lhavit, and reveled in by its denizens who offer mages who can use these arts a bit more awe and admiration than any other form of magic. The three main houses work closely with the Shinya and the Wizard Registery to monitor and oversee all magics and its users in the city to prevent any possible events that may or may not happen.

While Lhavit is known to be accepting of the idea of mages in any form, this does not mean it is liberal in allowing mages to do as they please whenever they please. All mages are required to register at the Wizard Registery upon entrance into the city, at which time they will be claimed by one of the houses whom the mages will report to for their jobs (if they wish for jobs in the field of magic) or for discipline if mages are caught wielding their arts outside of designated areas or without proper approval. They are given patches or even articles of clothing that will signify they are a mage, and what house represents them. Should a mage be caught using magic in a way that is prohibited the Shinya have full authority to capture and lock away these individuals, and cast judgement if it is required, however, if the mage is found wearing the emblem of their benefactors the consequences are said to be much more lenient.

Magic is prohibited in the streets or homes of Lhavit save for special circumstances such as self defense. In order to cater to their more magically inclined guests however Lhavit has opened a mages only area within the city. Only those mages who have registered with the Wizard Registry and have a patch or article of clothing with the symbol of one of the three houses are permitted to enter. Within this establishment mages are encouraged to talk and practice their arts to their hearts content, and to keep it off the streets of Lhavit itself.

No establishments in Lhavit allow the teaching of magic in any official sense, but mages who wish to teach one another are permitted to within the mages only area of the city. As a general rule mages are shown respect equal to the amount of respect they show others. Thus any mage found using their arts against non mages or in a way that is harmful to the city itself will be disposed of in the quickest, and quietest way possible. Beyond these small points Lhavit welcomes all mages to its humble city, and ask they enjoy their stay with as few explosions as possible.

Where exactly is this "mages only area" located in the city?
What exactly will the symbols or colors of the the three houses look like? This is in regards to the uniform or patches mages will have to wear.

Just some questions I thought people would like to know (especially me)

Besides that, keep up the good work Mirage!

I second the question about the mages only area!

Kaik, if you search the wiki for the Houses, those pages have their insignia. Something like that, perhaps?

[OOC] Ivory Heart

Postby Arinia on January 19th, 2015, 6:29 pm

Hello all, I am(for the most part) New here. And what I mean by that is, I created my character back in August, but college and research got the better of me. But, now that it is a New semester I hope to return to Lhavit and continue. Currently all I have done is the gate entrance and a solo flashback, I also registered at the wizardry but all that was back in August ans I probably should update.

Anyways. Hello all :D there's a few people I remember from last time.
Btw awesome lore addition Mirrage I'm really excited to be back in a time of change.
