A comment about the mage only area, I think it deserves a name. Because calling it the "mage only area" is kinda getting on my nerves.

And this is just me being knit picky but...

Thus any mage found using their arts against non mages or in a way that is harmful to the city itself will be disposed of in the quickest, and quietest way possible.

So it's alright for mages to use their arts against other mages as long as the city and it's mundane citizens aren't involved?

Do you have to be employed by one of the three houses to receive the mages badge, or do you get it simply for registering yourself as a magic user?

You get it simply for registering. One of the houses 'adopt' you in the sense that if you do something bad they will be the ones to issue your punishment. Typically the house will take on those who use similar magics to themselves, with some wiggle room allowed.

More details will be added after I finish the Wizard Registry.

Cheers Mirage ! Well written. It’s a good balance between the wish to make use of magic and the need to control it. I quite love the idea to make all registered wizards wear the symbols of the tower they report to.

And as far as I can see the changes to the library has been donei in a good way too.
Personally I also find the new access rules to the special magic sections fun, it speaks to my sense of humor and I can already see wizards desperately try to stay awake for 24 bells in order to read as much as possible, have conflict over books, try to negotiate for prolonged time and so on.

The new meeting place for the wizards of different magic schools can become really interesting too, with competition and intrigues as well as sharing their knowledge. It opens for so many things.

Hey guys i have a question about Lhavit wilderness, as well as the city itself, and Arinia.

She is a Kelvic from Taldera, and is a Dire Wolf, so in her wolf form she is around the same size as a below average Grizzly, being under 5ft shoulder height, and 9 feet in length not counting tail. Her weight though is well under a Bear of course being only 250-300lbs, reason why i state these is because is it safe to assume in a hunting job thread that she is one of the largest predators in the forest? More for a fluff in the beginning of the thread over anything else.

My other question is Arinia due to the fact that she is Kelvic, and travels often has nothing more clothing wise than simple trousers and pretty much leather wrappings that acts for modesty. I ask because i did not specify anything else back when i made Arinia, and i want to take her into Lhavit for some shopping, and i am not sure how people will react? I mean i assume it would be obvious she is kelvic so it wouldn't be as bad, but i don't want to get it wrong.

Hi Arinia!

Welcome to Lhavit.

I can say from a kelvic perspective that things are not going to be easy for you. Yes, you are an apex predator, but the territory around Lhavit is rough, steep, and vegetative. It's designed more for hooved animals and small things, so your Talerian form is going to be a huge handicap. Not only will you loose the advantage of being a predator from not being able to sneak up on your prey (due to your size, underbrush, and the steepness) but your biggest risk out there is going to be injury from falls and trails not designed for your size.

Lhavit has bears, but they are in the lower lands, coastal, etc. They are not up in the city proper. Your human form would be to a far better benefit wandering around Lhavit.

I doubt the population is going to care how you dress or put up a fuss if your wearing leather pants and a wrap around your torso. Just remember, its frigging COLD, its WINTER, and while your a badass huge kelvic, you can still freeze to death with exposed skin during the best of days around here during this time of year.

That is the major reason i wanted her to shop, She needs better survival gear, and i made her back in august, and i refuse to change something, ill fix it with a thread, as for the size and sneaking, that's kinda what i assume, seeing as she was used to the massive forests, and was going to thread her having trouble in her wolf form. I was at least for a very long time going to keep her in a humanoid form around Lhavit, mostly because she is a very untrusting person, and her other form in her back-story(witch i need to write more of in flashbacks) got her into a lot of trouble. I was going to do one hunting post, pretty much about the difficulty she feels, and that causes her to do the shopping one afterwards.

You had some great ideas there, Mirage! Well done! At first I thought of uniform and got all excited, but badges are equally pretty. I can totally see mages challenging each other and competing for the attention of the houses within their designated areas... there's much potential. Like the others, I'm looking forward to the development of that area.
