We are doing something slightly different this next season. Instead of offering employment opportunities, The Sanctuary is going to be open for business as the Healing College is now complete. That means we are taking students. We won't take a great many students, but at first, two or three is a definite reasonable amount.
These will come in the form of Apprenticeships. You will, as a student, be required to attend classes, work in the healing clinic, give care for animals in your charge, and follow a rotating block of hands-on classes that will teach you the basics of healing with emphasis on animal health. There will be opportunities, seasonally, for learning birthing and breeding of dogs, horses, and numerous other animals. Kelvic medicine is part of this curriculum.
Students will also be required to learn Wilderness Survival, Self-Defense, Combat, and be exposed to certain forms of magic. Life is dangerous. It is the nature of the world that healers be out in it. The Sanctuary will not graduate an apprentice to full healer without them knowing how to defend themselves and survive within the world.
Apprenticeships cost 150 GM a season.
This might seem a lot. However, multiple class blocks are included in that seasonal fee as well as room and board. In addition, students can take on a 'working' apprenticeship, where rather than pay for classes, they work at the facility for their apprenticeship cost. Working Apprenticeships will not, however, earn a wage like a normal employee would.
