Hey All!

I just wanted to see if anyone would be interested in have the Drawing skill developed? I've studied art for 23+ years and wanted to help expand some of the artistic skill stubs that haven't been fully developed yet, but I wanted to see if would be useful for anyone? Anyone want to share suggestions?

Here's some of the stuff that I'd like to include:

  • Mixed Media
  • Materials
  • Technique
  • Perspective

Thanks!
Emma

Drawing Skill Interest

I am. Drawing is something I have no skill in, but I have acquired skill in it for my PC as a sort of add on to things such as cartography, Herbalism and medicine documenting, even glyphing. I am specifically interested in mechanics, technique, and all Mizahar applications other than pure art.

Drawing Skill Interest

I would love to see an expansion of the drawing skill. Traditional media is so versatile, I think a breakdown would do well cor the community. I know even as an art student, I have trouble deciding how to get drawing skill.

Synopsis: Drawing is a visual art in which a person can express themselves through different medias; lead, charcoal, graphite, pen and ink, inked brushes, wax color pencils, charcoal, chalk, pastels, various kinds of erasers, styluses and various metals. This application can be used to document, show observations, expression and even employment purposes, among many other various uses. It is one of the most effective means of visually communication ideas. To accomplish such purposes a drawing instrument is used to release small amounts of material onto a surface. The most common surface used is paper, however, leather, canvas and wood can also be used.

Drawing is something I've been wanting to develop Lisana and my alt Otaia with. I think a writeup of this would be nice.

Courtesy of Clyde - Need to add Glyphing under Technique.

Glyphing AKA Hieroglyphics

Note: Glyphing for uses in the magic aren't neccessarily words or used as letters or such, as is implied in the wiki's on glyphs and hieroglyphics. Sometimes its just a fancy drawing with no meaning beyond being a glyph for a given purpose. There is no set language, and two people could use the same glyph or image for two very different things.

If anyone has any information on how drawing may be beneficial or be used in association with magic I would love anything you could give in regards to this as I'm not as familiar with the magic of Miz as some.

Drawing Skill Interest

Postby Branimir on July 14th, 2015, 4:35 pm

Quick question as I'm looking this over. Would lettering actually be a discipline of drawing? I realize we have standard lettering in modern day technical drawings and design sheets, but if you, say, look at Leonardo da Vinci's technical drawings, his handwriting is pretty illegible compared to the handwriting of, say, copyists of the time. Then again he also wrote from right to left.

It's not me who has to put in the work on this, and I'm loving the fact that someone IS putting it in since I'm playing an architect and he'll probably do more technical drawing than actual building in his time. Just trying to save you from some of that work. ;)

On the topic of lettering, I just thought I'd mention that the "Calligraphy" skill is beautifully written up already. This might be a little different than what you had in mind when you're referring to lettering but maybe take a peek at it so you aren't rewriting anything.
