The bond of strider to their person is a very strong emotional connection. Its like being accepted into the herd. Horses think in terms of we. They dont think in terms of I. Think is not the right word either as how a strider feels coupled with their body language and movements that produce their 'language'.

The drykas and the strider would have an understanding. Its not unlike the drykas hand sign as the body sign of the striders add to the feel that one gets from the strider. Goss said that a strider is on the intelligence level of a teenager. Thats pretty smart. So they would have strong opinions and emotions coupled with their body language. The drykas, their rider, is the same way. The drykas are an emotional people a showy people so are horses in general. Horses are huge show offs and very expressive. This translates into the bond.

Understanding herd dynamics would put the bond into perspective.

This all looks great! One relatively minor thing I would like to see is a brief description of living conditions, especially in regards to three things:

One, a Drykas that is attached to a pavilion.

Two, a Drykas that is not attached to a pavilion and lives on their own.

Three, an outsider visiting Endrykas for trade or other purposes.

Basically, what is required for these three living situations? There wouldn't need to be a full list, of course, but it would be nice to have a general compare and contrast, like which part of the city they would live in, how other people would treat them, etc.

A. Robin McKinleys The Blue Sword (The Hillfolk People's)
B. Kate Elliots The Jaran (The Jaran Peoples)
C. Jennifer Robinson's Shape Changer - Book one of the cheysuli chronicles

Thank you Goss for the excellent reading list! I can not wait to delve into these books :D.

Codex looks great, thank you Prophet. I agree with Colt on the description of living conditions. I did not realize they Glamped.. I never knew glamping was a thing, I live in the South we just 'rough' it haha. I feel stupid as I was reading through people's threads and thought 'wow do the Drykas live rough?' and wrote that way. Summer Season will be a change in my writing style when it comes to Drykas and their living conditions. Thank you to everyone for clarifying things and Prophet for working hard on an awesome Codex!

I will dig out my virtual tour of a full Drykas Pavilion. I wrote one up once upon a time and posted it. It's around here somewhere. And it should give you a good idea of what a full healthy Dykas set up looks like.

In case anyone else was wondering as I was about the living conditions of the Drykas:

Common. All Drykas live very well, especially those in solid pavilions. There are some who border on rich.

Prophet here is your reminder :P.

Sure. However, it will be boring...and racist.
