37th of Spring, 519 AV

It had been a few days since she had met with Rendal Zor, one of the founding triad. While her home was being built, and loan being worked on, Roulette had no intention of simply being idle. With the shores stretching both ways, she had left her shirt and pants behind in favor of running along the water. Chasing the tides up and down the sandy banks. Enjoying how the warm waters soaked into her black fur. The star-shaped birthmark on the left shoulder could still be seen, even in this form.

Albeit, just harder to see due to how dark her fur was. It felt great to be on all fours! Red eyes scanned the sandy banks in both direction briefly before she took off along the coast that went around the Saw Mill. Eventually, she came up and around The Teeth of The Maw. Pausing for a moment to lay in the water a little bit, she rested for a few good chimes while panting. Afterward, getting to her paws only to stand up in a flash of light. Shifting easily back into that of a human form. Dark ebony skin looked glossy due to playing in the water.

Midnight curls still messy and wild looking despite the water that soaked them. The five-foot Kelvic chose to take a calming walk this time. It was great to exercise, sure. But too much would do more harm than good. Roughly twenty to twenty-five chimes of walking had her curving her path toward the thick brush of the jungle. Sure the nicks and cuts stung from the salty water, but it felt good regardless. Roulette moved as best she could given how little experience she had with jungles. She tripped every which way and sometimes ended up with her face smacked right up into the trunk of some tree. And yet? She shook it off and kept going! Stubborn little Kelvic...

While she could tell that the settlement was relatively close by based on the smells that wafted from the Communal Kitchen, she did stop on occasion to sniff around to forage. Finding a small handful of berries, and even an edible mushroom. Roulette grinned to herself as her hands were cupped together holding the precious bit of food. Intending to contribute when not busy elsewhere. As she came out of the brush, the Kelvic walked naked right up to the Communal Kitchen to drop off the food for the cooks. She didn't appear to be bothered by this either. Instead, she happily smiled and even conversed with one of the chefs for a moment. She asked him about where a good spot would be to explore relatively close to the settlement. The suggestion? Estuary Cave!

The chef said it would be easy to miss at first though. Thankfully, they did give some helpful tips and hints along with a general location! After she thanked him, Roulette was off in a flash. Vanishing right back into the jungle's thick brush. She headed first toward the Commons area as a place to start from. Once there, she headed into the direction of the cave. Though it should have been a fifteen chime walk, it took her nearly thirty due to being new there in Syka. And the fact she became very distracted by a rustling in the leaves. She dropped looking for the cave in favor of satisfying her curiosity instead. But when the critter flew up giving an alarmed screech of some sort, she yelped a little and lost her footing. As a result, she had fallen flat on her small butt only to cringe due to something sharp poking her lower back. "Ouch!" She spoke first in common, then cursed with a single word in Fravata.

After she got back to her feet, the slight annoyance she had felt was quickly shrugged off. She might have startled the bird as much as it had startled her. So it was fair that her annoyance should not last. Besides... The thought of the discovery and exploration of the cave came hurtling back to her mind. It was near instant, but she smiled and pushed on by having retraced her steps a little before she had gotten distracted. After she followed her sense of smell, she found the gradient low river that flowed through the jungle. From there, she was careful to follow it as best as she could. Occasionally she would deviate from it, get a little bit lost, retrace her steps, then find the stream again.

It felt like an eternity, but after falling several more times, tripping and getting more scrapes, she finally found a trail leading into the cave's opening. A fresh wave of sheer excitement hit like thunder. She grinned widely and quickly ran down the trail until she came up close to what appeared to be a firepit. Whether anyone was there or not made no difference as she quickly dove into the water and playfully swam about. Roulette could see a plethora of fish in the cave. And at some point, she had become distracted enough by them to dog paddle her way back to the water's edge and sit there to watch better.

Kamilla Circe Gordon

Estuary Cave.

Kamilla couldn’t believe that she was about to willingly venture back into the jungle, leaving the safety of Syka behind, but at least this time she had a goal and destination in mind. It was something she’d been wanting to do for years now, ever since she’d fled Sunberth in the night she’d lost everything, taking with her only a few supplies, all her families savings and one very special gift.

The gift in question had been a beautiful white dress that her mother had made, intending for it to be Kamilla’s wedding dress if she ever chose a man to marry and included in the package was what the mage had no doubt was a gift from her gran, a simple sketch of a very unique looking fish. Considering that the sketch was folded inside the folded dress, Kamilla had a pretty good idea what her grandmother intended for her to do.

It had been years since she’d entertained the thought of going out and finding the unusual fish, never having the slightest idea where to start looking, but luckily had overheard one of the Sykans talking about a nearby cave that acted as a haven for young fish. Apparently the cave itself was quite magical to behold and the fish that lived there were no different. Sure it wasn’t much to go on, but it was something and she desperately wanted anything to help remind her of the family she’d lost so many years ago.

After asking for some directions, Kamilla felt she had a basic idea of how to find the cave, more or less. From there, the mage had purchased a two quart glass pitcher for two gold mizas and had even went through the trouble of digging up and catching several harmless insects like bugs and insects, placing them in the pitcher.

Not wanting to get cut up like the last time she’d gone beyond the safety of Syka, Kamilla dressed herself in long pants, her thigh high leather boots, a long sleeved white blouse and a leather corset, loosely fitting around her wait. She thought the leather would prove useful for protecting her abdomen from protruding branches and thorns. In her pack she carried some fruit and her waterskin and on her left hip, hung her dagger, from the right, her war fan. The final preparations for her venture were the drawing of simple focus glyphs on each of her palms. She hoped she wouldn’t need to use her magic, but she felt it better to be prepared.

Finally departing, the glass pitcher held in her arms as she stepped into the shade of canopy, the humidity immediately becoming unbearable, Kamilla let out a loud sigh of frustration. ”I can’t believe I’m doing this again.” Honestly, trudging through the undergrowth was not for her.

Chimes later, Kamilla had stumbled, and tripped, but never fallen, through the jungle, leaving small earth reimancy obelisks every so often to keep her bearings, a trick she’d learned years ago in Zeltiva. Her progress towards the cave had been slowed because she was being extra careful not to break the expensive bug-filled glass pitcher, but even then the mage felt like she had walked for far more than fifteen chimes, perhaps even double, though she had no real way of telling.

Kneeling down and pointing one of her palms down, glistening lavender res falling from her palm to create yet another stone obelisk. Thin and only about two feet in height, placed on a patch of bare dirt and leaning noticeably in the direction Kamilla assumed she’d come from, this was only the fourth one she’d made so far, but it was better than nothing. At least, for the moment, she didn’t feel like she was lost, though she didn’t feel like searching any further for the cave.

Taking a second to catch her breath, something she’d had to do at least every 2 chimes as traversing the undergrowth was no easy task, Kamilla carefully placed the glass pitcher down on the dirt beside the obelisk, retrieving her waterskin and taking a big gulp.

”This place is unbearable.” The words were mumbled to herself as she wiped the sweat from her forehead, placing the waterskin back in her pack and bending to retrieve the pitcher from its resting place.

She’d only barely picked the container and taken a few steps when she’d heard some very loud and disconcerting rustling from the trees above, another sounding from behind her. Remembering Buraga’s warnings, Kamilla immediately began to panic, looking around nervously as she tried to following the rustling in the trees above.

There was definitely something there, Kamilla seeing a dark figure darting along one of the branches high above her and instinctually beginning to back away , holding the glass pitcher against her chest and nearly jumping out of her skin when her back met with an unexpected tree trunk, causing her to let out a very loud scream that echoed through the nearby forest.

She’d spotted one of the creatures that were following her from above, seeing what looked like white fur and red stripes... they looked kind of like... ”Monkeys.” Though that distinction didn’t make her feel any safer.

Roulette was watching the fish as they swam around in the water before her sensitive ears picked up the scream of someone relatively close by. Red eyes darted up to look for the source. There seemed to be no one in the cave but herself. Which meant there was someone outside, and possibly in trouble. In a brief flash of lights, the human form was replaced with that of the bozderon shadow dog. Sporting the black, short-haired fur and of course the faint birthmark on the left shoulder. The Kelvic's paws thundered against the earthy trail that led out of Estuary Cave.

The scream had sounded like a woman's voice. Once outside, she retraced her steps via smell and curved off toward the general direction the noise had come from. Unsure of what was waiting, questions spun in her mind at a rapid pace. Was the woman alright? What had attacked her? Could she be dead already? And if not was there something Roulette could do to help? With these thoughts, the Kelvic's pace picked up. Albeit her clumsiness increased as a result. She yelped a little a few times after having tripped and sailed snout-first into a few roots.

One thing was certain, she was going to be damned sore in the morning! But after a few chimes, the scent of another was picked up from the forest floor. As it turned out, Roulette had circled around the general area. She noticed a small, thinly made stone structure that wasn't there before. Sniffing at it, she really got the woman's scent now. Lifting her maw, she started to bark and howl a little bit. Maybe doing this would let whoever it was, know that she was present and might not startle the person. Maybe? It was her hope anyway.

The Kelvic put her nose lightly to the ground and began her search anew. This time she followed the scent more clearly. After another five or so chimes, she located the woman with her back up against the trunk of a tree. Just in case she was scared, Roulette made it a point to not get too close, but instead, give her a few reassuring whimpers. She would have approached Kamilla if it weren't for the fruit that popped the top of her noggin though. With a yelp, she looked directly up toward the trees in time to see one of the many jungle inhabitants. Was that a monkey? Roulette barks in protest a few times at it.

In hindsight that really wasn't such a great idea! The baboon made some loud noises before hurling several more fruit! Roulette does her best to move out of the way, but many of them pelt her. With more yelps, she ends up shifting out and back into that of a human form. "Ow! Quit throwing those! They hurt! Ack!" She growls irritably, but soon she hears the rest of the troop. "Nope! Hey, you! This way!" And like that she started back toward the cave! With the arrival of the troop, there'd likely be more fruit thrown. And in all honesty, Roulette wasn't looking to be killed by thrown fruits so early on in her life! Question was, would Kamilla follow her to the relative safety of the cave or not?

Kamilla Circe Gordon

The situation had escalated fairly quickly, much to Kamilla’s dismay. At first she’d only spotted one of the odd looking monkey creatures, it was sat high about her in the trees and didn’t seem to have any intention of coming near her. Good, she’d thought. Ticks later, there were three of the creatures watching her from above and making soft noises that she quickly realised were calls to their pack, or whatever the collective word for monkeys was.

A chime later, Kamilla had lost count of all the monkeys that were watching her from above, somewhere around the number ten she assumed, though it was hard to keep count when they were scattered amongst the high branches. Regardless of the amount, the mage was growing more nervous by the second, surely the darned monkeys were planning something, why else would they gather? Just to watch?

Far in the distance, Kamilla’s thought she heard a dog barking, though she wondered if it wasn’t just her head playing tricks on her, perhaps just a misheard noise from one of the many monkeys currently staring at her.

”Well, I’m not sticking around to see how this ends.” The words were spoken to herself as she attempted to take a step, the monkey jumping around to new branches nervously as they began to make a bit more noise, seemingly cautious of Kamilla’s movements. She didn’t care, it was time to leave while she still could.

Keeping her head facing upward, Kamilla attempted to slowly back away from the monkeys, heading in the direction of the nearest obelisk, still holding onto the glass pitcher. Moving backwards through the undergrowth while keeping her gaze on the animals above was no easy task and more than once the mage had almost fallen flat on her butt, saved only by how slow and cautious she was being.

The monkeys didn’t seem to like her movement, apparently unsettled by it, as they started to yell and howl louder with each step she took, one of them tossing a surprisingly heavy fruit right at her head, drawing a loud yelp from her.The fruit in question hit Kamilla right in the forehead, smashing and spreading its slightly rotting contents all over the mage’s face, along with causing her to stumble backwards, a large root catching her boot as she did.

Kamilla fell flat on her backside, grunting with the impact and throwing the pitcher in an attempt to use her hands to stop her fall, wincing as she heard the glass shatter. The monkeys seemed to enjoy her misfortune, their howls beginning to sound like vindictive laughter, or at least that’s what it sounded like to her.

She was pissed.

Not only had the creatures interrupted her search for Estuary Cave, but they’d now also caused her to break a rather expensive glass pitcher she’d purchased just to try and catch a fish. On top of that, she was covered in a rotten fruit. She hated this jungle.

Slowly wiping the fruit from her face as best she could, anger now evident on her face as she had already begun to produce a ball of glistening lavender res from her right hand. ”Petch off you insignificant pests!” The words were shouted with at the monkeys as she swung her arm in fury, sending the res flying towards them in a small arc with she willed to first attract air and then transmitted to air as well.

The wave was fairly powerful as it exploded towards the canopy sending leaves and thin flying with it, some of the monkeys even losing their grip on the branches and quickly attaching themselves to new ones. All but one. The mammal plummeted quite a distance to the jungle floor, landed with a sickening crunch nearby, it’s body still.

Kamilla smirked in satisfaction having seemingly taught the creatures that she was to be feared, the remaining monkeys falling dead silent as they looked between the mage and their, literally, fallen kin. ”That’s better.” Kamilla said proudly as she got to her feet and dusted her hands off.

She’d spoken to soon.

There was a sudden explosion of noise, the monkeys now enraged and screaming at her, their eyes bulging with anger. ”Petch.” That was all she could muster before raising her arms to block the bombardment of fruit from above, sending her reeling backward into another tree, though the onslaught did not stop.

It was somewhere then, while thinking she was going to be bludgeoned to death by fruit, a pathetic way to go, that Kamilla’s ears were with the barks of a dog again. Peeking from behind her arms, the mage noticed that there was indeed a dog, she didn’t care where it had come from though it’s barks seemed to be doing little to quell the enraged monkeys.

A flash of light and suddenly the dog was replaced by a woman, a naked woman. So she was a kelvic, not that it was helping at all. It seemed that all the woman had done was come to join her in her untimely demise by fruit bludgeoning, at least until she started calling for Kamilla to follow her.

She certainly didn’t need to be told twice. Producing another small ball of res and swinging her arm to send another, weaker, blast of wind in the direction of the money’s, Kamilla used the opportunity to duck and follow the kelvic woman, though she could hear the monkeys following from the trees above as she stumbled through the undergrowth.

”Please tell me you know where we’re going?” The words were shouted from behind her raised arms, still blocking her head from fruit and anything else the monkeys might throw at her. She sincerely hoped that the kelvic had better navigation skills than she did.

Because I'm Happy, I'm Grateful

Postby Roulette on April 10th, 2019, 11:15 pm

Roulette didn't know that the woman had thrown a ball of res at the monkeys before she had arrived. Nor seen the dead one laying there on the jungle floor at the time either. All she knew was that fruit was being pelted at the both of them. Maybe it was foolhearty to think she could help, but hey. At least she knew the way to a nearby shelter! The cave! Maybe they could stay there long enough for the enraged baboons to calm back down and leave? It was a thought that briefly crossed her mind. The settlement was a little further away, and given that she was still very new to Syka well...the cave was closer! That and the settlers might not take kindly to the angry baboons...

Peeking back, she noticed something in a lavender hue and saw it leave Kamilla's hand. It caused a blast of some kind. What was that?! But she really didn't have time to stop. The baboons? Oh, they looked pissed! "Wha..?" Is barely all she managed to mutter under her breath before the screams of the baboons made her red eyes widen with terror. Oh shit! "Uhh! Yep! Cave!" These were the only words out her lips before a chime later she was back in the form of a black dog. Roulette did not have magic to use for defensive purposes. At least none that were taught anyway. With each fruit thrown, she yelped as it hit her backside, shoulders, and head. A few managed to score her in the back of the neck as well. The fruit? Oh, it smelled like it was rotting just a tiny bit!

Her black fur was getting soaked in the near rancid juices of the fruit. But she did not have time to bother being worried or agitated. With both ears drawn back to keep Kamilla in her range of hearing, Roulette stumbled while having slid this way and that. Following the scent trail that led straight to the cave. It was just a little bit further up now! The screams of the baboons were terrifying though! Had she not been running for dear life right now, she might have been inclined to watch them for a moment to see the reason why they were angry.

But Kamilla was being pelted at the time, and well...what was there really to do other than try to get her to the nearest shelter? As another fruit smacks her clear on the head, the Kelvic lets out a sharper yelp and even trips a little bit. Okay, let's be honest...that really hurt! But growling in anger wasn't going to solve anything either. Nor if she were to bark for that matter. It seemed better to be as quiet as possible and run as fast as four legs could go. Of course, without leaving Kamilla behind that is! The woman's unfamiliar steps were no better than her own. Which must mean that Kamilla was also new to Syka. Right?

It was a guess obviously. She lets out a few whining noises though due to more fruit managing to hit her backside and hindquarters. Following up along the gradient low river that led toward the cave. Turning her head just a little bit, she tried to catch a glimpse at the strange looking monkeys. Oh boy, that was a mistake waiting to happen! A piece of fruit was flung just right and smacked the center of her forehead. A yelp, and a thud later announced that she'd run straight into a damned tree trunk. Momentarily stunned, the Kelvic wobbled around for a moment as if the air had been forced from her lungs. Her jaws opened and closed a few times as if she had forgotten how to breathe.

The trail to the cave was right there though as she tried to point and move toward it. Not even a chime later though, her lungs were once more filled with glorious air. That was scary though! She didn't think it was possible to forget how to breathe!

Fruit continued to fall from above with impressive accuracy while the two woman fled the onslaught, her kelvic guide seemingly just as frazzled as she was by the primate’s attack. How much fruit could they possibly have up there? That was one of the things running through Kamilla’s mind as she did her best to run through the jungle, stumbling and falling every so often, but getting up as fast as she could.

Were they moving quickly? No. Getting through the jungle was no easy task even without a pack of screeching angry monkeys flinging rancid fruit at you from above, but at least they were moving.

Despite their unimpressive speed, Kamilla’s lungs were burning as she desperately gasped for air, her face pulling in disgust as some of the fruit juices found its way into her mouth. This jungle was hai. The only silver lining was that the kelvic woman seemed to be leading them towards a cave. Good, because the mage was beginning to wish she did know pyromancer, so she could burn down the entire petching jungle.

There was a flash from ahead, the kelvic woman turning back into her dog form, to become a smaller target Kamilla presumed. She was about to ask how far the damned cave was when a rather heavy price of fruit hit her in the back of the head sending the mage flying into the dirt, using her arms to protect her face.

For a moment, Kamilla contemplated just lying there for a while, she was sick and tired of this ordeal and perhaps the monkeys would mistake her motionless body for death. That contemplation was quickly ended when she felt a pair of teeth sink into her leg, piercing the pants and skin just above her thigh high boots.

The mage let out a scream as the pain shot through her body, turning over to frantically kick at the monkey with her other leg until it backed away, now noticing that a few of the wretched creatures had come down from their higher branches to the ones closer to the ground. Whether they planned to eat her or not, Kamilla wasn’t going to wait around to find out.

Getting to her feet once more, her leg now stinging from the bite, the mage continued stumbling through the undergrowth, now with a bit of a limp. Her eyes managing to find the black dog once more and heading in its direction.

How far was this petching cave? She wanted to shout but doubted her voice would make it over the deafening howls of the monkeys. How had her life come to this? Running from monkeys? This was worse than the time she’d been lost and forced to join the savage Quzon on his hunting trip. When she got back she was never setting foot in the jungle again.

The screaming of the baboons was damned near deafening! But she did hear Kamilla's scream and glanced back in time to see her kick off an attacker and having gotten onto her feet once more to run. Though the limp was noticed. The glance did not go without a consequence though as she tripped over a protruding root and flung muzzle-first into a pile of leaf litter. With a muffled yelp, she was back on all fours to run toward the cave. It was literally right there! Or at least the trail to the entrance anyway. She prayed a little for them both to make it there.

As the jungle gave way to the trail, her paws thundered for a second time against the earthy road that led in. But there was no doubt in her mind that the baboons would do one of two things. Wait outside, calm down and leave. Or they would come into the cave with both women. Roulette honestly hoped for the former of the two possibilities. Simply because she wasn't trained in fighting. But if it came to it, then she would likely go down fighting. It wasn't that she lacked confidence in her ability to fight, it's was just her being realistic about the situation.

Black fur soaked in rancid fruit, dirt clung to her paws now as a result of the juices having dripped to coat those paws. She could feel the earthy grains getting into her nails. And it was just a bit uncomfortable, to say the least. Once inside just far enough, Roulette turned around to face the entrance. Baring her fangs at the baboons if they came. As for what Kamilla would do, she had not the faintest of ideas what she was capable of. Making sure to leave room to run back further down the trail and toward the cave, the kelvic stood her ground and prepared for a fight if one was coming. Hackles were raised, sharp teeth bared, and both ears drawn back in agitation.

'To any diety out there, please help us..' She silently prayed, not really knowing what else to do if these monkeys were intent on a fight.

A few more ticks of fleeing in the direction of the kelvic and Kamilla noticed that the undergrowth was becoming less difficult to traverse, even with her slight limp, as they’d made it onto the cave’s trail. Looking up ahead, the mage was relieved to finally see the entrance to the cave, the black dog kelvic already inside with teeth bared. The Felius inside her almost forced her to hiss in response to the sight, but Kamilla was far too preoccupied with surviving to fall prey to the memories of the dead cat obsessed mage.

Once she’d limped her way into the entrance of the cave, not bothering to examine her surroundings, Kamilla kept going until she was side by side with the kelvic, quickly turning around to see if the monkeys would follow. She certainly hoped not, but if they did she’d make sure they’d regret it. She’d had enough of them.

Wanting to be prepared, just in case, Kamilla stretch her hands out on either side of her as more glistening lavender res began to pour out in liquid form. She formed to balls the size of a coconut each, though the time it took to create them wasn’t as quick as she’d hoped, the monkeys not far behind, though it remained to be seen if they’d dare enter.

Part of her wished they would.

Spreading her palms even further apart, Kamilla willed her res to split into ten separate floating spike shapes, each roughly one finger in length. She remembered the savage Quzon’s criticism on wasting her djed. A nail was as good as a hammer, he was right about that. ”Stay away from the entrance” Her voice was stern, an intense look of anger and concentration as she focused her aim on the door, just waiting for one of the wretched monkeys to dare to enter.

Roulette watched as Kamilla limped through the rest of the jungle brush and far enough into the inside of the cave's entrance via the small earthy trail. But just as the woman was next to her, the kelvic could not really help but snarl aggressively at the baboon that had followed them both right into the trail. Letting off a series of vicious barks and growls - Roulette just wanted them to leave and nothing more. From this angle, she could clearly see the red markings on the monkey's face. The blue skin, and white fur.

Had she not been defensive right that moment, Roulette might have had a peaceful moment to admire the baboon's natural beauty. But under the circumstances, she wasn't going to be able to do that. Seeing the wanolo baboon's bugged eyes, aggressive stance, and teeth... Yeah, there was no way this was going to end too well. With both front paws spread out a little bit, hind legs the same way, she snarled and growled as ferociously as possible in the hopes the baboon might reconsider and turn tail to leave them both alone.

Maybe that was not such a great idea though. Because no sooner than she took this stance did it only seem to anger the baboon even more. 'Really?! We're backed in a cave you win!' She shouted in her head since words were really not an option given her form was a dog at the time. She starts barking out of frustration and snarls viciously again. Even snapping her jaws. Meanwhile, she did not immediately see what Kamilla was doing at that time. But this didn't mean the baboon did not see! It seemed to be backing up only to make this strange noise that could only be assumed it had called for backup. And sure enough, two more came onto the trail's entrance to the cave.

If these three would going to attack, then there was a strong chance both women were going to get seriously injured if not worse! Roulette began to pray as hard as possible even though she hardly did so before, if at all. With the rancid fruit juice soaking in her black pelt, she watched in horror as they advanced. It was not until Kamilla spoke in a stern voice that she glanced back and saw more of that strange lavender colored stuff. Seriously what was that?! But she does what the woman tells her to and quickly moved out of the way! Whatever she was about to throw, Roulette had no intention whatsoever of standing in the middle of it! Nope! The three baboons charge toward them, however, as she moved from the res' possible path. She kept her red eyes partially on Kamilla, while she watched the forms of the advancing monkeys.

Because I'm Happy, I'm Grateful

Kamilla Circe Gordon

While Kamilla’s res production had vastly improved, now much smoother and easier than before, even the fairly quick time it took to create the multiple small res spikes had been cutting it close with the enraged monkeys hot on their heels. By the time her spell was ready, the primates were already at the entrance, three of them charging towards Kamilla and the kelvic.

Hearing the vicious snarling and barks from beside her, Kamilla had to admit the kelvic was quite intimidating, at least to her. She was certain that if she were the one trying to enter the cave she’d definitely think twice about crossing the dog, the monkeys must have been in a blind fury or just lacking good judgement.

With three of the monkeys showing no intention of stopping as they charged towards the two women, Kamilla aimed her attention towards the rest of the pack that seemed uncertain of whether or not they would follow. Ten projectiles was a lot, so the mage held her hands in-front of her with her fingers spread and mentally mapped each red spike to a finger. Then, practically seething with anger and killer intent, the mage fired all ten spikes in the direction of the monkeys rioting just beyond the case entrance, finally transmuting her res to stone.

The spikes wizzed through the air and towards the pack of monkeys with impressive force, only for each and every single monkey to narrowly dodge them, leaving the projectiles to bury themselves into the l dirt that made the cave’s entrances.

Eyes wide in surprise and disappointment, Kamilla couldn’t believe her attempt had completely failed, though not entirely it seemed. Besides the three that had already decided to charge in, the majority of the pack that had been uncertain seemed intimidated enough by her spell to snap them out of their rage, visibly less riled and perhaps even reconsidering their situation.

The mage was already beginning to take cautionary steps back as the other three were already upon them, the leader(and bravest) would be first to make contact while the other two would reach them only ticks after. ”Oh gods.” She certainly hoped the kelvic woman could fight better than she could.

Finally deciding to reach for a physical weapon, Kamilla pulled out her iron fan, the one she’d never intended to actually use for fighting and also had no idea how. Unfortunately, there was no time to figure it out now, so instead the mage flicked the folding fan open with an audible zing of the metal, revealing several sharp blades protruding from the decorative part. Kamilla was not stupid however, holding her free hand behind her back trying to excrete some more res from her palm, though production was moving far slower now that the monkeys were basically upon them.

OOC :
So the rolls for this were crazy. The baboons beat the spell by ONE!
