OLD [Syliras' OOC Thread] The Calm within the Storm

Hey Guys, just a heads up!

I'm going to take on one more thread for Sasin - that big meanie Dhani - and probably some subsequent threads for the Miza Robbing Gang (tm), but until I wrap up threads in Syliras that have been started this week - I will not be taking on any more storyteller threads. I'm pretty much at my limit with ten (currently 12). Everyone should get a new post in their adventure threads today late or tomorrow. I'm going to try to post twice a week. Being a founder, there's usually a lot going on (HD, Chat, lots of PMs), plus I'm behind in my development. I've set some goals for myself (which I'm keeping btw) to average an article a day for this month (and a gnosis a week) to see if I can't get some backlog caught up.

So, be patient! Do as much social self-moderating as you can... and since the Fire Festival is winding down (Gillar or Liminal will award XP soon for folks) - if anyone wants to sponsor any sort of new large crowd event (anywhere from a dance, poetry reading/contest, to even the silliest festival (Liminal recently suggested I try silly) please feel free to step up. I know others have asked. The Syliran Knights are great at providing food, resources like musicians, etc... cause they like to party just like everyone else.

Also, when the season changes, we are going to have an old style Valterrian Celebration. There's going to be a play (Galifer and Kova's Wedding Reinacted) so we'll need some performers, a storyteller narrator (someone who tells the story for storytelling XP), and several other actors, including someone to play Ivak and the roles of the other gods as well as Sylir who was killed. Then there's a massive funeral at the end of the celebration that will follow with a feast. It should be a very religious event though, and its rumored to sometimes have Gods/Goddesses actually show up in disguise. I will be moderating this one fully... and the actors/narrators will be provided a script for the actual performance. This thread will start March 1st... so if you want to join in, start thinking about it. I'll release a list of roles and probably put up a 'auditions' thread (feb 1st or so) for some additional XP opportunities for the thespians here in Syliras... and if you see yourself in a special role in that celebration (which is guaranteed to have some surprises) feel free to show up in the auditions one first. We'll need actors, musicians, a narrator for the main show, etc.

That sounds like a good plan! Having some structure always helps when you're feeling overwhelmed ... Although I admire your ability of cranking out one article per day. If there's any secret, don't hesitate to tell me! XD

Anyway, the Valterrian event sounds cool. Maybe I'll do a self-mod thread to get some xp with the lyre and then I can participate as a musician? How much xp do you need to get employed anyway?

I'm considering haivng Alistair build a cool contraption to show off at the Valterrian festival too ^^

If anybody wants to help work on that, I think Alistair is going to do it make it like a parade float. Which means he'll need some help ^^
I will try to post the thread soon, it'll be later in winter. So anybody who wants to work on the project can join.

All types of peeps are encouraged, this monstrosity can end up doing all sorts of things. Carpenters, Metalworkers, Decorators, or anything else. Alistair can build its capabilities around whoever wants to be involved. I think I've seen a few musicians in Syliras, maybe it could be a portable stage ^^.

Of course, it will have some mechanical aspects even if its only a portable stage

Anyway, tell me if anybody is interested in helping out and I'll post a thread.

I can be Avalis, if she's even there, or Morwen since I am an ice reimancer! XD The thought just occurred to me that Avalis actually warned Laviku about the coming cataclysm using her songs! Kamalia is a singer and a harpist and can probably play a role.
