[Generic Humans' Pride] Oh the Humanity!

Postby Bob Barton on September 24th, 2011, 6:10 pm

Talk about awesome? This is why humans are awesome. Because all the other races don't have dudes like this.

The man who beat Chuck is at such a level that we can't even believe that we can call him a human like us :P

[Generic Humans' Pride] Oh the Humanity!

Postby Tessa Poe on September 26th, 2011, 9:59 am

My fellow humans, we have a problem. Or perhaps an opportunity, depending on how you look at it.

Unlike the other, fancier races we don't have overall characteristics, we don't have special gifts, we are, quite simply, ourselves in our chaotically, flawed and madly diverse kind of way. This does mean though that there's nothing to bind us together, no deity who favours us above anyone else, no place that's ours and only ours, no mark or talent that lifts us above the rest. We're on our own in this big wide world, and our lives are what we choose to make of them.

Now some might think that that's a problem, as I said at the start, but I for one say that this diversity is what makes us uniquely us. Out of all the races of Mizahar we're the most free, we can decide our own fates far more easily than anyone else since we don't have to worry about culture or creed or duty holding us back. We can be whoever we want to be, heroes, villains or something in between, famous adventurers or simple farmers.

So I say to you all, whatever you decide to do, whoever you wish to be, just do your utmost to live up to it. We'll show those other fancy pants wearing races just what it means to be human, and how amazing it can really be.

This is going to be the first of many of what will probably be monthly, maybe bi-monthly, ramblings about the wonderful characters that inhabit the city of Ravok.  I will be posting these in the Ravok Pride thread, as well as in their respective racial pride thread.  So it probably comes as no surprise that the first character I'm going to ramble about is... Aello!

AelloImage

Race: Human
Shoe Size: No Idea

Where to find: Alleyways, Wilderness, The nearest bar fight

Random Quote: "You, my lucky man, will have a slightly different, more painful punishment."

So Aello and I have been through a lot together.  If I remember correctly I did my very first modded thread with her.  I remember her request fairly well, she wanted tondo a thread where she encountered a malevolent spirit.  That was a fun thread to mod.  Aello ends up getting possessed, murdering someone, and discovering that her dagger is more than what it seemed to be.  Since then Aello has become a formidable character in Ravok with a lot of threads under her belt.  She's got a magic ghost magnet dagger that always returns to her side no matter how much she wants to get rid of it, she's slowly losing her mind, she's about to get marked by Dira, and who knows what else is going to happen with her?

I kinda pushed Aello into a lot of sticky situations, but I don't think her player minded at all.  I'm sure Aello herself would have preferred I left her alone, but where would she be today of we hadn't forced her into all the crazy things that happened to her.  She has even gotten away with murder and escaped from jail.  She's got at least one PC kill, and has gotten herself tangled up in more than one Ravok plot at one point or another.  Aello is a character to be feared, but that doesn't mean she's unapproachable.  She was caring enough to nurse an injured sparrow back to health, she befriended one of the sweetest kelvics I know, Alenias, and another kelvic, Nex.  So she's not always the scary crazy person people think she is.  Just don't piss her off and you'll be fine.. Unless you are a hypnotist or something.

In a nutshell, Aello is a really cool character with a lot of crazy quirks.  I've enjoyed playing with her over the past year and I highly recommend threading with her if you are looking for an interesting thread.  Aello's contribution to the chaos that is Ravok has not been missed, and as the spotlight moves in to the next character remember this: We will all meet Dira one day.  Those who piss Aello off meet her sooner than later.
Forecast for tonight... Dark

[Generic Humans' Pride] Oh the Humanity!

Postby Growl on October 23rd, 2011, 4:31 am

@ Alric, I realize this is a bit late... but...

No man can beat Chuck Norris. Because Chuck Norris is Chuck Norris...

Yesh, I make all the sense in the world late at night.

Also... generic humans are awesome. Because we are not bogged down by the physical restrictions of the other races, and can be whatever we want to be...

Darn... I sound like one of those cheesy commercials you'll find on TV... for college.

[Generic Humans' Pride] Oh the Humanity!

Postby Alric Wilmot on October 23rd, 2011, 4:44 am

No, no. I'm glad you posted Growl. The Human pride thread has been lacking lately. You know, we all realize the wonderful freedom in being human. And each of us has said as much in our own special ways. But I wonder, what are we doing with our freedom? What are we becoming?

I'd like to ask everyone to share their character's immediate and long term goals. Let us see how high we can aim, when not bound by limits. My own character's immediate goal is to master Hypnosis, my long term, to master everything. Tell me everyone, are your dreams also so impossible? Or are you more in touch with reality?

Postby Talen Stirling on October 23rd, 2011, 8:51 am

Talen's goal is to guard the people he loves.

Within that, and as a separate goals lies becoming spectacularily awesome with his weapons of choice.

Oh, and also to find a woman that he can love more than anyone else.

Talen is a simple man. There's no fancy plan or long term goals apart from those, but on the flip side who knows where they could lead...

Postby Skugga on October 23rd, 2011, 9:30 am

Skugga's main goal is to gain the interest of Ionu and recieve a gnosis mark from the god/ess. Then the rest of her goal's are a bit depending on how her mind turns out, if she'll turn more twistes and evil or more how she used to be, which is basically how evil I can play her as:) But mainly she aims to master the poison skill and learn some hypnosis and the more she turns into darkness the more combat and stealth skills she wants to master.

Nathan just wants to see the world, trading treasures he finds along the way. Currently he was in Mura for fifteen days, and he'll be Avanthal in the Winter. Denval is after Avanthal, and then we'll see where Nathan takes his trading to.
