What if your PC was your roommate?

Yes, another one of these threads. This thought occurred to me at work the other day--what if you were forced to share a flat or apartment with your character? Would you get along? Would one of you never pay rent on time? Who would be the messier one? Maybe you'd not get along at all, and just fight. Or, maybe, you'd make a terrible mistake and fall for one another!

Some people are very similar to their characters, while for other people, it's night and day. I'm really interested to see how people think they would personally get along with their characters. For example, I don't think Cade's player would survive being Cade's roommate. And maybe if Xelhes had an apartment with HIS player, Xel (the character) would stop being so lonely and awkward!

I'm afraid Laszlo and I would be pretty boring roommates. We'd probably spend most of our time locked away in our respective rooms, doing whatever it is we do. Occasionally we'd meet in the kitchen and hang out, discuss bill paying and how to best organize it. Neither of us would ever want to wash the dishes, so that would stack up. He would probably be more responsible about taking the trash out than me. I doubt we'd hang out much or be very close friends, but once in a while we'd knock back a few and talk about our lives and bond.

Occasionally we'd both have "friends" over. Guy friends for me, girl and guy friends for him. Any friend I brought home would probably be pretty drawn to Laszlo, which would be frustrating for me. I think we might get drunk and POSSIBLY wake up next to each other one time, then both agree this was a terrible mistake and never ever speak of it again.

I am curious to know how Jen and Kavala would get along though.

This ran through my head the other day actually.

I came to the conclusion that Marvasa would be more disturbed by my presence than I was of his. He would usual be at work or in his room, while I'd spend my day at classes. He'd think I was a slob I'm sure and constantly be re-arranging the mess I'd made of the kitchen cabinets and pantry whenever I cook. When were in the same room together we wouldn't speak much unless I initiated conversation, or managed to get him to drink. Once we had been drinking I would tease him mercilessly just to see him squirm and he'd retreat back to the room, likely taking any and all present alcohol with him. Eventually he would decide I meant well and tolerant some friendliness but our dynamic wouldn't change much. The only thing he could do that would annoy me outwardly but make me happy secretly would be his constant taking in of anything helpless and injured. Likewise any female friends I had over would pester him endlessly and giggle like schoolgirls about it. All in all he'd be a noiseless, cleaning machine, which is good for me and miserable for him.

Syllke and I would have loads of fun constantly, drink lots of beer, listen to great music and wind up in bed together quite often I think most of my PCs end up being like that

We would only be roommates for three days every six weeks; the rest of the time I would be in the ICU.

I’m not sure if I’d get along with Veldrys. We’d probably be terribly awkward around each other. Veldrys would constantly pity himself and complain about how he can’t have a boyfriend or a girlfriend because he is an evil Symenestra. He’d wonder whether I think that he is evil as well. He’d probably try to cook for me sometimes which would end with me being in the hospital because he has very strange ideas about what constitutes good food, and he doesn’t trust himself to treat me. He’d also try to drink my blood which would make me freak out a little and recruit me for his weird religion. I’d probably think he was in some kind of dangerous sect. Maybe he would try to seduce me when he’s drunk and has forgotten that he is an evil Symenestra which would make things even more awkward between us. He’d constantly complain that our place isn’t clean enough, and he'd get mad at me if I get better grades than him because he thinks he is more intelligent!

L. on the other hand would be a pretty fun roommate to have. He’d probably be really happy that I’m not that much taller than him (he hates having to look up at people). We’d constantly play pranks on each other and tell each other crazy stories – that we’d probably believe. He also wouldn‘t mind if I don’t clean our place every single day. We’d have the same taste in music, suck at singing, but still do it and occasioanlly behave in a totally random manner that makes people question our sanity. Since he works in a pub, he would be able to get me free drinks. Although his constant talk about sex when he hasn’t even had a girlfriend yet would probably get on my nerves a little. Maybe I would hook him up with somebody just so that he finally shuts up. He’d probably occasionally complain that I study too much and should party more, but all in all we’d have a great time.

I'd probably have all my crap stolen. Beer bottles everywhere, bringing guys home to our cramped little bedroom so they can make out on the top bunk, maybe even have to bail her ass out of detainment for "disruption of the peace."

Yeah, reminds me of a roommate I used to have sophomore year.... :|

I think if my character was my roomate... I'd be very scared X-x. Very very scared. And then consider how much money I could pay for adequate protection of my life, valuables, etc.

... Oh, and I'd never try to make my character roomate angry. Never ever. XD.
