I'm not sure I really have any favourite ships, but the one at the forefront of my attention lately has been Endeavour, the ship James Cook used on his first voyage. The expedition sought to observe the 1769 transit of Venus and find the elusive southern continent. She got her fat arse lodged on the Great Barrier Reef for a time, and did a good job of mapping New Zealand. Here's a picture of Endeavour--or at least, her replica.
