A note on the Employment Center that I've just added to the description:

"When making your first post here, please make the assumption that you are going to be asked what job you're interested in and how long you'll be in Syliras. It seems everyone just walks in and says "I'd like a job" and that's always my first response, and after typing it fifteen times I'd like to suggest we just preempt it."

So when making your very first post in the Employment Office, instead of saying "I hear you help people find jobs?" you should say "I hear you help people find jobs? I'm a blacksmith, and I'll be in Syliras for a season or so and I was hoping to find some work." Something like that.

Holy crap, it's almost Winter!

I know, I know. Fall just flew by! Mainly because school repeatedly punched me in the genitals, and I kept falling over and being unable to reach the computer. My bad. However, next semester will be a lovely time of crappy gen-ed requirements and not nearly so much work, so here's hoping I'll be able to get back to the metric crap-ton of development I want to do in Syliras!

In the meantime, here are a few announcements that I want everyone in Syliras to be aware of!

Climate in Syliras

Goss and I worked out the final info on the climate, and it's up in the Wiki on the Syliras page. It's not very cold in winter, so keep that in mind when you're describing your surroundings!

Wages

Lots of people applied for jobs this season, and yay for you! A hard day's work will always be respected in Syliras. For anyone holding a job in Syliras - whether you got it in Fall or you've had it since Spring - needs to put in your application for your wages. You cannot put your wages in your ledger until I've approved them and added it to your SS thread. Seriously. Don't do it.

Anyone who was employed in Syliras during Fall 510AV needs to send me a PM telling me (a) What your character's job was, (b) What the agreed-upon salary was, (c) What time period they worked during [so if they only worked 30th Fall to 56th Fall, I need to know that to calculate], and (d) links to threads showing that your character actually worked. I would appreciate it if you actually used these bullet points to separate your information so it's easier to read, since I'll be doing at least a dozen of these, probably more. I will reply with your Seasonal Wages and add it to your Storyteller Secrets thread. If you do not go through this process, you do not get to add wages to your CS. And yes, I will be checking. This includes the Knights as well, so don't think you get off that easily.

Wild Streets - Fall 510 AV

The thread for the Wild Streets is now open. Anyone who regularly participates in illegal activity in Syliras is required to participate in this thread. If you just got into a bar fight once, you don't have to. This is for people who are actual criminals.

City-wide Holiday

There will be a holiday in Syliras for Winter! I know, I know, totes exciting. It will be called the Day of Remembrance, and will take place on the 30th day of Winter. I will put up a Wiki page explaining what the whole thing is about, but the main point is that there will be a huge storytelling festival throughout the city. Every tavern will host an open stage for anyone to share a tale, and there'll be plenty of booze to be sold. There may also be adventures crop up... who knows! Only me! But keep your eyes and your calendars open if you're interested in being in the city that day.

Development

I will also be doing a lot of development in the next week, as I'll have several days off for Thanksgiving. Again, if there's anything you'd specifically like to see developed, make a post on the OOC thread or send me a PM. I've already had a request that I finish the Messenger Service I'd been working on, so hopefully I'll have that up, as well as the newest tavern.

So, finals are over. Let me say that again: FINALS ARE OVER SWEET GOD THANKYOUTHANKYOUTHANKYOU.

Which means that I am back in full force, people! Hide yo' wife!

Ahem. So. On to the real announcements.

Dusk, what the eff are you doing?

Well, I've already updated the Syliras Staff Page to include the lovely Nisaba, who has been a god-send in helping us grade.

Here are my plans for the next few days:

1. Go through all of my PMs and answer any questions put to me, as well as give out Seasonal Wages (if you haven't email me about them, do it now)
2. Update my Office thread to include all of the threads I opened for adventures and such
3. Grade the threads in my office that need my personal attention
4. Answer all of the threads I'm modding
5. Answer all of my PC's threads
6. Start the new adventures for people with placeholders
7. Make the Syliran Holiday happen

I'm gonna bang this stuff out, and then I'll get back into my normal routine of stalking the boards obsessively. Be ready, my peeps.
