Casual Syliras Plotting This is open to anyone and anyone who wants to join in; I'm merely making this thread so we can have a good system of organization. I'm easily confused with all these PMs flying around. Winter has arrived in Mizahar, and it's turned dangerous travel into "You don't want to do that, that's suicidal". So! I'm looking to gain some skills and character development during this winter. Solo threads are an option, but uhghg. Let's try to survive in Syliras, shall we? Keep in mind: Terms of Use Grading scale (5xp max per skill per thread) Syrilas Lore and Drawbacks (Other races, beware!) Here's how this is going to go: For basic character plotting: - Post a link to your character sheet. Three adjectives describing their personality would be dandy. - How does your character view Syrilas? What are some strengths/good things that they might bring to the city? What are some difficulties that might face them in the city, especially during winter? - Start listing skills you need/want ranked! If you can offer to train another character, list those too ^_^ - Anything else? Want a friend? In need of a lover? Maybe a raiding buddy? For group thread requests: - Post your character - Is it one on one, a small group, or a large group? - A loose outline of what you want to happen (Character A hunts with Any Character; Any Character finds Character A digging through trash; etc) That's all I can think of. If you have any silly lore suggestions or challenges, feel free to add them~

ILDIKO'S THING feral, cautious, curious VIEW ON SYRILAS: - Ildiko really doesn't like humans in general. She sees Syliras as judgmental and too restrictive. Too many bodies. Too many people to judge her, just waiting for her to screw up so that they can throw her in jail... or execute her. -Ildiko is a budding hunter(ess). She...ah...Well, if she'd stop maiming her kills, she'd be able to sell the fur. For now, she's learning how to make her methods more precise. She really needs something marketable so she can make some money. She sees the city as good for trade and little else. Learning and ranking massage to become a classy "escort" this winter won't work because she looks too non-human. - Difficulties, whoo boy. She's half-Zith. People are going to hate her. They're going to be waiting for her to mess up, and they're going to see her as a monster. She'd be cute if she weighed more/stopped eating her food raw and baring her teeth at every cute boy that walked by. She absolutely refuses to spend money on an inn (she recently learned what money was) so she WANTS TO shiver outside in her tent by a fire, or in those cottages by Kabrin Road... but that's too dangerous to do solo. Most likely, she'd bum by the city limits (attracting the attention of the knights, eek) or she'd bum at someone else's pad when it gets too cold. Hey, we can make that a plot device. SKILLS: Ildiko has terrible stats right now; but ranking with someone else wouldn't be hard. I would love for her to rank her massage skill just for fun. She has that, in my reasoning, because she gets bruises often and it helps her heal faster? What I'm willing to bring to the table: (all novice) Wilderness Survival/25 Hunting/10 Massage/5 EXTRA: -If you see anything in the CS that you want to work on, just PM me or leave a note in my scrapbook. - I feel like the best plots come from crazy "What if this happened, but this way?" chat sessions. - Ildiko is ridiculously carnal and sensual. Her human side doesn't temper it, it blocks it. If those inhibitions are broken down, beware. In a sexual relationship, she would form no attachments. Sex is mechanical (yet fun) to her. You could try to win her heart over, I guess, but that's not really a priority right now. - I want a CAMPFIRE thread, a SLEEPOVER THREAD, and a BIRTHDAY musing. Bonus points for a hilarious sexual tension thread. Her birthday is around the 30th of winter. Most of my winter lies unplotted. I'm working out a few flashbacks, as well. :U

Oriah present! Upbeat, Energetic, Smart Mouth Syliras Stuffs: -Oriah quite likes the whole concept of Syliras, in that it preserves all that is good and just. However, she does worry if people will be too stiff; she needs a loose audience and their even looser coin pouches to survive. -Some good things she could bring to the city would definitely be that, ideologically, she and the Knights are pretty in sync. She will follow the rules, not make any trouble, and try to do good for the greater good, since that's the way she's lived most her life. But she still wouldn't mind a party or two -Some difficulties are pretty much the same difficulties she always faces: survive and don't get into too much trouble. Also get thick clothing cause she has zero tolerance for cold weather. -Mostly Ori needs to improve her combat and general survival skills, but she also is open to everything else, including herbalism, singing, fishing, swimming, etc. In fact, Ildy's mention of massaging has me intrigued--I must obtain and work on this skill as well, for...practical reasons No order of need, just happy to get whatever she can ^_^ She can definitely help train others in dancing, drumming, and slingshotting, though all three will be in the traditional Benshira style. -She definitely wants friends! Lots!! And She wouldn't mind having a lover...or two...or three. I'm new to RPing, and my characters have never gotten laid Except once, in a brothel, by another girl...on accident xD Request type: Group I would say...a large group for this request. So far, here is what we've come up with as possibilities: What: Birthday bash of sorts Why: I assume we're going to be at this thingy because we know Ildy, and because it is her cakeday Where: Probably somewhere nice and safe in the city? When: Up to you guys, I"m free whenever Things to be included: -It's winter, so there needs to be a fire! Mm, warm and toasty -Lots of alcohol -Things to roast on sticks -A mindset prepared to shake that thaanngg! Or not. Either way, it shall still be shaken, whether you want it to or not. We want to earn this booty lore -Possibly mind altering substances, if we can find some (still lookin' through that list) -Aaannndddd someone may or may not end up naked. Or maybe everyone.

Nanuk is happy to make your acquaintance. For my adjectives, I would use Charming, Genuine, and Colorful.

Thoughts on Syliras:
-Seeing as Nanuk grew up in Alvadas, he is both refreshed by some things, and conflicted by others. He doesn't like waking up in the same place everyday, walk the same way to the same things. It misses the intrepid adventure he had through many years here. He also sees a lot of good in Syliras. He sees people full of hope, with plans that last longer than weeks. He finds a lot of people's resolve to make a positive mark on the city. So, while he misses the excitement Ionu brought in Alvadas, he's trying to make the best of his situation by meeting lots of new people.
-Nanuk wants to be the greatest bard in all of Mizahar. His father was a master Vantha story teller, and seeing the bards around Alvadas inspired him to follow those footsteps. So, he wants to sing, write songs about others, drum, perhaps even be hired by a patron to perform nightly. Until then, he'll go from tavern to tavern or group of adventurers and on to find more material to write lovely music and lighten the spirits of others, or touch their hearts.
-Difficulties include being taken seriously for his craft. Not many people think he's really doing a lot of good for the town, because how is making music for others "practical". He seeks validation for his work here, where before he didn't need to.
-He wants to befriend everyone and anyone. He's very social, happy, and good natured. He will go out of his way to help someone in need whenever he must, and would feel awful if he did anything that hurt another.

Ranks To Work On:

-Song Writing
-Musical Instrument(Drum), but I also want him to learn a lyre when he can afford one.
-Singing
-Seduction - He's a flirt, what can I say?
-Probably some sort of combat. He doesn't know any, which might be a problem later on.

Option 1: Your Sleepover Thread. Since you mentioned she camps out elsewhere, Nanuk would probably insist he host her for a night in his apartment, or longer if she wanted to. Between his flirtatiousness, and her sexual drive as you mentioned, it could create some nice sexual tension. Thankfully, he's pretty casual until otherwise spoken, so I don't think that going to be a big problem.

Option 2: I saw Miss Oriah mention a birthday party. Seeing as there is a need for a musician, Nanuk would welcome the occasion to practice and to be with pretty ladies. It would also be fun, because that's a great opportunity to write a song as well. I am open for both!

Hurooo! Welp, I was messaged, and I shall answereth thee >.> (Awkward moment...)

Aldus is meant to be this really charming sort of bard/thief. He made a small fortune out of it (the thieving part, at least. He's not a proper bard yet.)and jumped ship to Syliras a few years ago because he wanted out of Sunberth (I mean.. gosh, it's Sunberth. Ewww. Plus, childhood trauma is a big encouragement.)

Views on Syliras: He's been living here for a few years now and finds it to be a lot safer and more fun than Sunberth. He's rather inquisitive, but spends most of his time in the taverns looking for easy scores and listening to bards telling stories. He's listening in the hopes of learning how to tell like they do. He's living pretty well right now and has a nice nest egg to rely on, so he's for the most part going to focus more on growing than actually earning money on the craft. Plus, there's always the whole "If I need something, I'll just take it philosophy." The scores seem easier for him than in Sunberth, probably because not everyone's expecting to be stolen from.

Room for Improvement: Oh... everywhere. More Larceny would be awesome, maybe start having him commit minor robberies if he sees fit to. But mostly, Hypnotism, Storytelling, and Persuasion. The triad, as I'd like to call it. Seduction can be added into that, too, since it's a really useful skill to have.

What he brings to the table: He's a pretty nice guy, aside from the whole stealing thing. He's a budding Hypnotist, he's pretty damn good with locks and pickpocketing, and he's decent at telling campfire stories (Campfire RP sounds awesooome.)

[Medhozic]

Medhozic. Cold. Emotionless. Calculating. Syliras: His view on Syliras isn't really that fantastic. It's a place that provides what he needs for now, so he'll stay until he's done all he wants to do, and then he'll leave. No attraction, no particular infatuation and no patriotism because he knows that he hasn't been to everywhere (yet) so he can't really boast anything and he can't say that anything is particularly bad, because there are plenty of places that can be a lot better or a lot worse. Things he brings to the city, his interest. However mild it may be, he brings interest and his hunting skills, which still need improvement, but it's what he's got. And since Winter is around and the animals aren't, Syliras is going to have to live with that for now. Ranking, not picky. Short-bowing, long-bowing, anything combat. Since Medhozic is antisocial by nature, unless he finds something good to intimidate someone with, he's fine being the way he is. If he grows attached enough to a character, he might help them out too, for a price. Hunting 26; Shortbow 10; Hypnotism 9. Medhozic is very antisocial, unless he's with an animal. In which case, his entire character flips on its head and his personality twists into a caring, loving creature that would kill anyone who dared to harm the smallest little rabbit. His job, therefore, makes it incredibly straining to kill such innocent creatures, but he knows that what must be done, must be done, and the strong shall feed on the weak. Things to be included: Group, One-on-One, anything, doesn't matter. As for anything else... No clue. Due to my characters incredible amount of social lacking, he'd feel very awkward at a campfire or a birthday party and would never consent to anything; he'd be more likely to try and kill the first person to look at him funny with his Kopis. However, if they brought something with them to the table that he could learn from, then he'd be much more eager. Well, much more eager than killing people. Yes, he is a very difficult character to deal with, but I made him that way for a very good reason. So, what do you say. Fancy trying your luck?

View on Syliras

Wanda was born in Syliras -- she loves the city. She loves the crowds (most of the time), she loves the people, and she loves the architecture. The one thing she does not like, however, is the "constantly indoors" factor because it cuts her off from Syna.

But it's her hometown. For all intents and purposes, through the Syliran way, she's been all but brainwashed to believe that the castle city is the best place to live in all of Mizahar. Despite an overabundance of travelers to learn from, she's been pretty sheltered from the outside world -- what do you mean not all cities have knights to keep them safe?

Besides that, this Winter is supposed to be one of the coldest in history. It's likely that more people will be stopping by the bathhouse to keep warm and relax, which probably means she'll be putting in extra shifts. Between that and having to take care of a mother that's been sick all year, she'll likely have less free time than normal. What does that mean for threads? Well, since she'll be itching for some action, she'll probably be more wild and energetic than normal...

I'd really like for Wanda to reach expert level in Massage this season. I'm also very interested in her learning Unarmed Combat, but I might save that more for Spring time. Seriously, I'd love for her to learn/expand on anything!

- How does your character view Syrilas?
It's a cramped hell but she's making it work.

- What are some strengths/good things that they might bring to the city?
A sharp mind, mostly. It is a tool with many uses.

- What are some difficulties that might face them in the city, especially during winter?
She's a widow. She smiles just a bit too broadly and she's dead. She leaves her chambers during rush hour and she's dead.

- Skills you need/want ranked!
Anything, really. Preferably magic, because magic is cool, but I'm nothing if not flexible. She's trying to learn the lute.

- Anything else? Want a friend? In need of a lover? Maybe a raiding buddy?

Views on Syliras:

Alasdair wasn't born in Syliras, but he was raised there. Initially he was born in Endrykas but after the age of two his parents moved back. It's where his father was from, though his mother was Drykas. He loves the city since it is his home, and he hasn't really ever done anything to catch the attention of the Knights, so his life has been a good one. His mother gave him a love for the freedom of the outdoors, so the Cobalt Mountains and Bronze Woods are as big a part of his life as the walls of the city are. He's just as comfortable being surrounded by either. Since he's getting older, he's starting to get pretty blunt and straightforward. Something of a "I don't give a shyke" attitude. Winter also won't be keeping him cooped up, he'll be out and about wherever he wants, even if it is the coldest in forever.

Skills:

I want Alasdair to be a bit of a renaissance man. I'd love for him to learn some kind of metal forging skill - be it weapons/armor or items. For his current skills, I'd like to reach at least competent in wilderness survival this winter, then work on his handaxe and longsword. Horseback riding wouldn't hurt, since he's going to be working at Windmount Stables for however long. I also plan on one day teaching him morphing.

This is what may come in handy for others at the moment.

Everything else; fishing, longsword, handaxe, riding, and butchery are at 5 and I'd like to work on them just whenever - except for longsword and handaxe like I said.

Anything Else:

I'm always up for new threads and plots. I'm open to all sorts of ideas, because Alasdair has a lot of varying interests and he's a pretty open-minded person. I like threads with anything from two people to bigger groups - though large numbers can get wonky. If anyone wants to have a thread out in the wilds, I'm up for that, or even just a social meet over a mug in the tavern. Anyone who wants to train combat too, I'm willing to consider certain plots. Just sparring in the city doesn't hold much appeal to me but I'm willing to go that route after Alasdair gets to know a PC. I'm more the kind of person who wants to get into an actual situation and have to fight to defend and survive. He won't go train with just some random person he met in the street, so they'd need to bond a little and run the idea by him for consideration.

I'm getting in on that sleepover and campfire thread, but those of you involved already knew that.

Jake Stonewald in three adjectives:
Lazy, reliable, simple.

VIEW ON SYRILAS:
- Syliras is a new start, a place where a dream might become true... after a lot of effort.
- He doesnt have a job right now, but he would like to be a Knight someday, so he know he has to train as much as he can. Even knowing that, it doesnt mean he want to train, as the first thing you will notice from Jake, after seeing how rude he can be, is lazyness well trained. He want to be a normal person and get rid of all that lazyness.
- Difficulties: To become a Knight isnt easy, and if you add that you are an unexperienced swordman who have never fought counting out his training, and having in mind the rivals he will have to face to become one, you will get an idea of what are dificulties for Jake (who even doesnt have a job yet).

SKILLS:
Jake is able to use a katana (or a sword by extension) at least to defend himself, but his wilderness survival, swimming and unarmed combat arent that good.

What I would like to rise... well, wilderness survival, unarmed combat and I would love Jake to learn reimancy (I dont mind the element) but I know that is going to be very hard, and more if we take a look at the plot this Winter in Syliras

Whatever you see in Jake's CS that might help you, just ask for it. I will make him help you with that or I will die in the attempt.
