The courier was having a grand time this far in the morning. Sure he had nothing specifically to be happy about. He had to wait in a strangers home for his delivery to be made. It took a graciousness, or perhaps an insensitivity or ungratefulness to impinge on the generosity of others, and Xira sure hoped that he was gracious over ungrateful. On the other hand he had two pretty ladies to escort him about the warrenous place. Certainly not something to complain about. It seemed to even out in such away that he was left with a warmth beneath his sternum that loosened his lips and made him quick to smile.
"I am sure she is very pleased with that. Thinks far too highly of herself, that vainglory horse of mine." Xira said with good natured amusement. None of it was true of course, she was beautiful to him and he did enjoy her company, but her thoughts were probably less about her looks and more about treats hidden away in her owner's pockets. She was after all, just a horse.
His companions were decidedly more and more enjoyable as the day went on. Lyn'nice for instance was pleasantly maneuvering herself to keep him in her debt. Whereas Lysaea placed herself so that the two of them would not dally with the task. Not that a pretty face could keep him from a task he set for himself. He found himself actually glad that Lyn'nice was going to help him settle in, the courier had not completely thought through his actions. If he had then he would have realized that he would have to go through other people's private sanctums to find a suitable accommodation. For all he knew, the people here lived spartan. Odd word, spartan, the courier thought. Something from the old language meaning bare and indifferent to comfort. It had a flair of Isurian in it though he knew next to nothing to the tongue. If the denizens lived in such a way then he could accidentally take over someone's room.
He was however, not so much of a lout to leave his other lady friend by herself in the dust, so to speak. He turned back to wave to Lysa and called back to her, "We'll be only a moment! See you soon!" He then turned back to Lyn'nice. "I like her. Quiet, but very nice."
They found themselves in the library again. Lyn seemed to be leading them towards one side and he was obliged to follow again. The difference was that Lyn did not seem rushing, nor at all annoyed unlike the lady he first met. He still wished to linger... but another time. Syliras did not have libraries open to the public, and this was a private library. One he would probably need permission to use at that.
"So tell me Lyn'nice, what is the housing arrangement going to be for me? Any cupboard or celler is good enough for me. I just need a place to wait for Kavala, it need not be comfortable." He said with a cheerful smile. It was the truth too, he would not pass up free room and board. Riverfall was an expensive place to visit and to live. So living at The Sanctuary, even doing chores, was an excellent trade off. Even if it was to be only for a few days.
