She was just shaking her head at his act. Still joking and teasing her anyway he could. She was wondering if he really matured because she didn't really see it yet. She also raised her eyebrows at his question about combat. Her? Using weapons? Learning Martial Arts? Did he forget that much? "Yes Markus, totally. I became Sera S'Essy when I arrived in Syliras just before I met you didn't I telly ou? I'm a master axe wielder now." She sounded harsh which she noticed right after she said. She just wanted to joke a bit, but couldn't control her voice. "Sorry... I was just kidding, no I haven't learned anything."

She started to worry about their journey because of the horse riding. She would have to heal her buttocks all the time. She didn't start to whine, she tried to not think about yet. Markus would help, Markus would help. And just 30 days, just 30 days. She sighed and bowed as Markus let her out first. "Thank you, my lord!" she responded tried to ease up... herself a bit."And you don't have to pay back, I'll pay the toothpaste for us."

They wandered back at the Bazaar where they would split up. She was looking around at the tables and the goods they were offering, when she noticed a merchant who was selling toothpaste. Perfect, she was dashing there immediately. "Hello, can I get... 4 oz of toothpaste please?" The merchant nodded boringly, didn't seem he cared too much about that day. S'Essy gave 1 gold rimmed miza for it and was walking around to search for some herbs.

She knew she saw a woman selling them somewhere when they were first here. She was walking through the people, looking at her right and left side. Where was it? She was frustrated a bit when she finally found the merchant that was selling it. She ran there quickly and was looking around. She looked really unsure what to buy. The woman must have seen her confusion and tried to help her. "Aaah a healer, can I help you?" S'Essy looked up and nodded, giving a smile. "Yes, actually, I would need just a few herbs that could help my work during a travel."

The woman was pondering a bit when she pointed a plant which had berries on it. "This is called Jile, these berries can be a fast acting poison antidote. If you are familiar with philtering, you can also dedoct them and use that salve as wound cleansers." The woman was thinking a bit more. S'Essy didn't really know philtering but as poison antidote, it was perfect for her, might learn latter how to make salve from them. She was pointing now at dried roots. "This one is Tolm, in teas it can ease pain, also relax the body." S'Essy nodded and was about to ask to buy them but the woman pointed at another plant. "And this is Vyfox, from it's leaves you can make a tea which would help curing wounds."

These could all come handy for S'Essy. "Thank you! I would buy 3 oz from each of them!" She said and as the merchant packed the plants for her, S'Essy paid 45 copper rimmed mizas the woman was asking from her. She was ready. She had an idea what to use as a cloth but she needed Markus for it.

Which reminded her that she had to go to the Stables, she was hurrying from the Bazaar and headed towards there to the horses, she was waiting for Markus to arrive.
OOC- 1 GM for the toothpaste
- 15 CM for 3 oz of Tolm
- 15 CM for 3 oz of Vyfox
- 15 CM for 3 oz of Jile

One Healer and One Knight (Markus Andres)

Markus raised a brow, she joked about a subject he did find serious. But through the joke and layers of her poking fun at him he did see the truth hiding underneath. She had had no combat training, or in essence, so little that she would be unable to partake in a fight to help him. Which meant he would be the one to take care of them both on his own. Luckily she could heal him in case someone got lucky enough to slip a weapon past his shield. Knowing his own luck in the wilderness, they would probably encounter some monstrosity, especially the closer they got to Zeltiva.

"Well. I will put you in charge of gathering firewood during the trip then, miss axe master. A fitting position for one who specialised in such a weapon."

Markus had always had a disdain for anyone picking an axe as their primary weapon. He could in ways understand Braklin. He had been a farmer for most of his life prior to the knights. He had had experience with the tool, only made sense to exploit that knowledge in his pursuit of knighthood. Markus' face dropped the playful attitude and grew serious.

"I will have to teach you a thing or two about self defence, S'Essy. I would have hoped you might have picked up a thing or two in Riverfall. But no matter." He shrugged as if it didn't matter much to him, it was just another small burden he would have to carry. And he could teach S'Essy how to defend herself. Something he figured every healer should be able to do. "So at least if I miss something, you can hold it off until I arrive. Sounds good with you?"

When the two parted ways to get the supplies, Markus moved at a fast pace through the city. Eyes scanning the market for what he needed. Finally found a stall that looked promising. There was a peculiar strong scent that pulled him closer. The strange strong odour wasn't bad, it was only strong. It was there, made it a little harder to breathe without tasting everything the stall had to offer.

"Hello my good man. I need two full traveler's stock and pack of strong rations." The man nodded and began packing some of the things Markus had ordered. Who to his surprise thought of something else he also needed. He might run a little late for S'Essy, but he figured she could handle herself while he went and got the last thing. The man cleared his throat and asked Markus for 13 gold mizas. Markus handed him the thirteen coins, mainly because he got lucky as he reached into the pouch and produced exactly that amount of coins. Markus stacked the packages and stocks and made his way over to a different stall. Peeking about, searching for the thing that had entered his mind. A funny little thing he might pick up along the way. Help other travellers or likewise. He wasn't sure. But if he was to pursue his ambitions of becoming more than a sergeant, he should develop more than his physical body. Which meant a different sort of training. One he wasn't overly fond of, but there could be no progress without a little sacrifice. He found the place he was looking for. Purchased a single 1 oz. vial of ink, a blank book and three quills. The book was a little larger than what he would expect a journal to be, but he would survive. Had enough empty space to carry that as well. He gave the woman behind the stall 5 gm to cover the expenses. More than she demanded, but Markus didn't care. He was in a hurry. Quickly making his way through the bazaar again. Headed straight for the stables. Hoping they had a mild mannered horse that S'Essy could get. A breed that might be easier to handle than the horse Markus was thinking of borrowing from the knights until he returned. Through narrow corridors and crowded places he emerged to the open area surrounding the front gates. He saw the Konti healer stand by herself. Markus nodded in her direction as he carried the supplies over to her.

"Hey again. Wanna head inside? Look for a mild-mannered horse. You don't want it to frighten easily either." Markus gestured to the stables and waited for her to head inside. He would offer any insight he had when they had come inside.

Ledger6 gm for 2 Traveler's stock
7 gm for 1 strong rations
3 gm for blank book.
1 gm for 1 oz. ink
1 gm for 3 quills.

She just nodded about the self-defence training he offered. She didn't pick anything up in Riverfall while she was there. Only a few things but it wasn't really significant. She was also nervous when she thought about that training. She was clumsy and terrible around weapon or any kind of combat. The memory of holding his bastard sword came to her mind. How she threw it and cut Markus. A memory which was a disgrace to her. "Yeah great... totally... "

As she was waiting at the Stables she was wondering what Zeltiva was like. She only knew Markus was born there. At least she could see where he was from, he already saw Mura, where she was born. Then her thoughts wandered about riding a horse. Another thought which made her nervous. If nothing else she could make Markus have a good time... and laugh at her. She gave out a loud sigh and by that time the knight has arrived.

"Yeah hi again... shall we?" She gave another sigh and headed inside the stables. As she headed in the barns she already saw the variety of breedings. There were many horses and she didn't even know what to look or where to start. Mild-mannered. That wasn't big help for her. She was slowly walking, looking at them. She looked at a brown horse and tried to go close to it. Didn't work out, the horse didn't really want to get close to the Konti.

S'Essy stepped back and looked at Markus helplessly. "Well... What do you recommend?" But she tried to get her guts and look for another. She spotted another horse which was the mixture of brown and white color. She slowly walked there. This horse didn't mind her closeness. She turned her head to the knight. "This one?"

Markus noticed that S'Essy didn't look entirely happy to see him. Something had plagued her mind while he had been gone. Something that was serious enough for her to loose the often bright smile on her lips that he liked seeing. Her spirit had always been high, full of energy and it did bother him to see her sigh like that. Something bothered her. Another sigh after she responded to him and he raised a brow curiously. Seeing if she would explain on her own, or would he have to question her for information. The raised brow alone might be enough to prompt her to answer his silent inquiry. Silence often worked as a good interrogation method. People loved to fill silence. Markus loved to fill silence with chatter. In that chatter, often the truth could be found.

Markus followed S'Essy around as they walked through the stables. Once in a while stopping. He had had ridden many horses in his days with the knights. Favourite was by far the Tiaden Warhorse. They shared his aggressive mentality when it came to combat and it took a lot to frighten them. But S'Essy could not handle a horse like that, not as inexperienced as she appeared. Markus looked at the horse she approached. A brown one, unfamiliar to Markus, but part of him knew that one would not be good for S'Essy. She asked Markus for advice and he shook his head as he looked at the horse she had approached. Certainly not one that reacted badly to her merely approaching the horse. Markus turned to look around for other suitable candidates. He could help her, of course, but the choice would be up to her in the end. He didn't want to decide on her behalf. She found a different horse. Multi-coloured one, not uncommon, practically normal compared to horses which only had one colour. The horse did respond well to S'Essy approaching her.

"Hmm. Maybe she-" Since Markus had not seen anything that would suggest the horse was a male. "- can sense you're a healer." Markus walked up beside her and the horse. Shifted the contents in his arms so he could free the right hand. Reached out and patted the horse. Seemed calm. Collected. Even with two strangers about her.

"Well. I think she'd make a great mount. Of course I can't tell from just seeing her, but she seems to be well-trained. Just don't do any loud sounds or sudden strange jerks while on her back." Markus said as he patted the horse's powerful neck.

She was just standing there, didn't do any sudden movement while she was also staring at the horse. The horse was calm and wasn't about to harm her yet, she didn't want to change that. She waited for Markus to also come. As he did, she still didn't do anything. S'Essy also calmed down by that. This breeding could be her horse if the price was right.

She followed Markes who with his right hand he patted the horse. S'Essy stiffened and got nervous for a moment. But the she didn't do anything. Yes this was the perfect mount for her. She had the courage now to also slowly with her right hand place on the horse's neck and was running her fingers on it. She patting her! Maybe it could also feel that she was clam too. S'Essy's smile came back.

"Can I help you?" Said a voice from behind. S'Essy turned around and she saw a woman standing there, her arms were crossed. She must have worked here. The Healer pulled away her hand from the horse and with Markus walked to woman. "Sorry, yes! Actually we were looking for a horse as a mount and we are interested in this one. Can..." She cut the speech as she looked at Markus. He was the one who was buying it and he knew about horses. She shouldn't do the speak. "I guess I shouldn't be the one who is speaking."

Looked like the two of them had found a horse for S'Essy. It was a quick choice. Perhaps a bit too quick, but the Konti seemed to like the horse. Or at least she didn't flee from it, and in return the horse seemed to not mind S'Essy being very close to her at the same time. Which made for a good beginners horse. Especially with Markus around to teach her how to ride properly along the way. It was for from ideal to have to teach her along the way, but he figured it couldn't be harder than teaching Ball to become a proper knight. He shrugged a little and heard someone approach them from behind. Markus opened his mouth to answer her when S'Essy took the lead and instead began to talk. The sergeant didn't mind, if she could handle it, everything would be fine with him. But mid speech she stopped. Looked at him. And Markus raised a brow in response. Unsure what was going on. His brow raised half an inch further up when she said he was supposed to talk. Markus shrugged at the minor oddity and turned to face the other woman.

"Hey there. We are interesting in buying this horse. It is for the young missus here and she is terrible, I mean utterly hopeless when it comes to riding... or so I assume, for I haven't seen her ride ever. Will the mare in question be suitable for a novice rider going on a long trip?" The woman looked from S'Essy to the mare. Looked as if she contemplated something. Deep in thought for several long ticks before she returned to them.

'I assume you will be teaching her along the way?'

Markus nodded in response. The woman thought a little more about it and then a small smile crossed her lips. She might be making a sale right then and there. Which told Markus enough that she would indeed recommend the mixed breed horse to S'Essy.

'She will do the trick.' Markus' brow raised for the third time in a short span at the odd expression. But he didn't care enough to ask her about it. Best to just let it slide and get on with the transaction.

"Excellent. We will also be needing a saddle for her and bit and bridle. And two pairs of saddle bags. I will be covering the expenses. Since this is a lot gold, can I swing by later with the gold. I do not have all the funds on me at the moment. But we will first be needing her tomorrow morning. So should be plenty time to get everything settled. Is this fine by you?"

Markus was a sergeant knight and his words could be trusted beyond a doubt. He would find it mildly offensive if she didn't trust his word enough. But she nodded. Of course. Why not trust a sergeant knight sword ot protect the city. It wasn't like he would suddenly vanish without a trace between the stables and the miza treasury where most of his extremely vast fortune was stored. Markus shaked hands with Serena and discussed further minor details as for when he would return. Wouldn't be longer than a bell if everything went according to plan.

"Right, S'Essy. Let us go." Markus said turning to the exit and he would escort S'Essy to the front of the Heralds Arms. "I need to drop this off in your room and then I will be off to get the coin. You should get some rest, S'Essy. A long day ahead of us tomorrow and I will be here at the crack of dawn to stir you from your slumber."

LedgerMixed Breed Horse: 100 GM - Given to S'Essy
Saddle: 10 GM - Given to S'Essy
Bridle and Bit: 2 gm - Given to S'Essy
2 pairs of saddle bags: 10 GM - One of which given to S'Essy.
Total 122 GM deducted.

S'Essy's smile vanished as Markus was speaking. Her face turned all red and she was speechless. Terrible... hopeless... couldn't he be more honest? The worst rider ever in the world... the worst sword wielder also who had managed to throw a bastard sword at him accidentally. She was angered but she controlled herself. Not in here. Not now. It was true yes, but saying it like this didn't help her too much or anyone.

She didn't dare to look at the woman in front of them. Markus answered everything, he would teach her in riding which was better than a stranger doing it... but at that moment she was thinking it would be a better idea. But only her anger was speaking from her. She looked at the horse she will be riding on tomorrow. The more she looked at her, the more she realized horses were not that scary.

As Markus and Serena accepted the deal S'Essy said good bye too and followed the knight. When they got futher from the place the Konti raised her hand and slightly slapped back of the head of Markus. It felt so good for her to do it. Maybe she could had hit him a bit harder."Thank you Ser! Not like I don't appreciate that you bought me a horse and everything, because I do. But could you try and not say things like 'Terrible, utterly...whatever utterly means... hopeless'? It's true but it was really embarassing."

She was grumpy during why they were walking back to the inn she were staying for the night. But she was too tired to keep her grumpy face on. It was silly to be angry about anyway. Her face softened and she smiled again, she turned to Markus. "I will take these from you, I will bring them to my room." She would take away the stuff he was carrying if the knight let her. Then she didn't know what to do. In her confusion she extended her hand for a hand shake. "It's good to see you and be with you again. And thanks. You should also rest, I wasn't the only who had a long day. Good night, SER Markus Andres!"

Markus had not looked at S'Essy when he had spoken about her to Serena, so he did not see the changing emotions across her face. The anger and embarrassment that followed. So he was utterly caught by surprise when he saw her angered face as he turned to have them leave the windmount stables. The angered expression. It had been rare, very rare for him to see her so angry. It was a face he had never gotten used to and one he had always tried to avoid. His eyes grew a little wider, what had he said or done this time?

He tried to think back. He had been rude when he explained her capabilities as a rider, but he had also explained he had never seen her ride before. Which should have made his prior words a moot point. Markus remembered her common was not the best and she had just spent close to four years in a radically different society than the one Markus had been in. Still. Markus had not been justified in what he had said. When he felt her hand slap the back of his head he turned, anger behind those emerald eyes. Forgoing the shame he had felt moments earlier. Physical punishment was only something Markus accepted from Stern Mason. But the anger was quickly replaced with surprise and shock. The healer had actually hit him. Was now publicly scolding him for having made a joke. At least she spoke low enough that not many beyond himself would hear here. It was a terrible and insulting joke, he would admit that, but a joke none-the-less.

"You are right." He finally admitted. "I stepped over the line with that particular joke. I shouldn't say things like that, especially not when I haven't seen you on a horse yet. So I apologize." Markus spoke sincerely, gaining in strength towards the end. "However, don't smack the back of a knight's head." It had not hurt him, not at all. But it was the act itself. He was wearing the full uniform of the knights and she was, healer or not, still a civilian. She shouldn't slap the back of a full knight's head. He had too much respect for the order to sully it by allowing such actions unmentioned. "And as I said, gold means nothing to me, so don't mention it. Just keep her well-fed and taken care of for me."

The walk to the heralds arms was far from as joyous as it could have been. Markus was still a little upset, despite everything, that she had slapped him. She were probably still trying to recover from his joke, which he had admitted in full honesty was over the line.

"Goodnight S'Essy. Take care of yourself until tomorrow morning." He shook her hands and it was much easier to ignore the times where a handshake was the least the two of them would have shared before going different ways. But it was good she only offered that. Markus gave her a firm nod with the head and released her hand. "Still gotta get something to eat and pay for the horse before I can find rest. See you in the morning." The sergeant turned away and began moving through the crowd to find the Miza Mint.
