A hunting expedition

This strange man really piqued Thymes interest, although he had nothing but harsh words. This didn't really bother her well, most of it didn't bother her "I'm leaving before your idiocy gets me into any more trouble.” the strange man’s words echoed in her head. What was with his continued mentioning of her being stupid, or otherwise. Uneducated Thyme hated this because a fair amount of people she had met. Always assumed that she was stupid, because she was kelvic, perhaps the man had thought the same of her. She hated it, the stranger stamped his staff into the ground this confused Thyme slightly, but she thought nothing of it.

As the stranger walked away, Thyme figured that she should heed the stranger’s last words. “And put some petching clothes on! Its nearly winter you fool!” Thyme attempted to spring up and stumbled slightly apon doing so. She quickly put her clothing back on and this took about 2 minutes, hopefully he could still hear her. Because she yelled back "Fine I have clothing on now! Wait up!" She grabbed her bow and quiver and took off after him, as fast as he could. Trying to stay on his track Thyme would yell once more ”Hey! Wait up! as she ran Thyme felt that her sarcasm about him being surrounded may have been. Inappropriate for the time, she should probably would need to apologize to the man. As she wished to get to know him, she didn't know may people but she wanted to find out what he was up to in the middle of nowhere. And why he had decided to investigate her camp site.

Maybe it was possible to start over with their encounter, she might be able to invite him back to her camp. If not then she would be able to come along with him, maybe she would be of some help to him. If she couldn't find a way to verbally apologize maybe she could serve him? At this point Thyme was thinking of any way to make this right. He was after all the first person that she had seen while she was out here. In a way his harsh words made her feel as if she were in the wrong.

A hunting expedition

Clyde's tactic of moving the conversation and meeting into one that fit his desires was a somewhat risky one. Or at least, Clyde thought to himself, risky if his desire was to continue the situation. But as Clyde had little investment in the meeting, of it continuing, and risked losing nothing more than a continuance of the conversation.

If it worked however, then Clyde would manage to put the situation in one that far more favored himself, and which would deal with the issue to a degree of him being possibly ambushed in the other spot chosen by the kelvic. Considering the possible gain, along with the small risk, it seemed like a method in his favor.

How much of this was planned out by Clyde in his head, and how much was simply done and then justified afterword would be hard to say.

Regardless, as he walked away with a tentative grasp of the kelvic's aura Clyde felt confident in his choice. He didn't look back, nor did he race off, and was in no particular hurry, instead strolling along slowly.

Clyde of course wasn't commenting on her being stupid or foolish due to her being a kelvic. He'd met those of the kelvic race that were as stupid as a beast, along with others who'd been hard to tell apart from a person. No, in Clyde's mind he was calling her a fool for her actions, which with the current bandit problems of the area were quite foolish whether she'd been telling the truth or lying.

He was still within earshot as the kelvic shouted after him, and came chasing after. Clyde didn't stop in response, but slowed his pace a bit more, and kept on the safe straight line so that she'd easily find him by heading in the direction he'd gone.

However if she was truly working with bandits, Clyde thought to himself, they'd be forced to skirt along on either side and come at him in such a way that would likely betray their approach before they got too close. Tactically speaking Clyde figured it made more sense to fight if he must on neutral ground, versus a prepared ambush spot.

Clyde would wait till the kelvic was within a few paces to stop and turn to face her, giving her a chance to speak. Facing her however was more for the kelvic's benefit, since he could see her even without looking within his aura sight.

Not that anyone else would know that.

I am actually in RL a super intelligent hamster from Rhode Island, with a 7 year plan to take over the world.

Update 6/2/18- 1:10AM EST: His 7 year plan a success, and several weeks ahead of schedule, Clyde leaves to oversee the world he has taken over.

No new threads after end of Spring 518-Will still be checking for PM's occasionally, but focusing on a new character.

Graders note: :
Please be aware Clyde is a master Magecrafter. He therefore should not be gaining full xp(or possibly shouldn't gain any at all) for simple tasks related to this magic, such as low level MC items, particularly for repetitions of creations he has done before. Feel free to contact me if unsure of a instance of his magic use compared to his skill level.

A hunting expedition

Postby Thyme on November 7th, 2015, 5:20 am

Once she managed to catch up with the strange man, she took a moment to catch her breath. "S-stop. Wait" She held out a hand, signaling for him to stop "Please, wait. I didn't mean....I didn't mean to..." She was out of breath, and wasn't able to properly form a sentence without. Breathing heavily in-between words "Sorry.." She waved her hands back and forth as if she were trying to get a message across. After a few chimes, Thyme was finally able to catch her breath and thus she was able to talk properly, once more. "C-can we start over, I hadn't meant to come off so...complacent, about out meeting.. My name is Thyme, a-and, I'm no bandit." Thyme exhaled deeply and stood up as straight as she could, holding her hands up as if she were surrendering "And there's no one waiting to ambush you, and if there is, I can assure you that they aren't with me.." After a few moments Thyme Sighed and lowered her hands. I'm really sorry, can we go back to camp, my camp. And just start this all over again...please." she paused for some time to think before she would continue on with her proposition "Look, I'm heading back to my camp, you are more than welcome to join me there, I have some rations there. Nothing fancy, but its better than nothing, you are more than welcome to join me" It would sound as if Thyme was pleading with the man, she sought redemption. For some odd and unknown reason, surely he wouldn't be able to decipher why. For it was as unknown to her, as it would be to the stranger, after she had said all of this. Thyme simply ran her finger through her hair, waiting for his response. Waiting for the man to follow her.

A hunting expedition

Clyde hadn't been moving fast, instead had been keeping a normal steady pace, but clearly he'd made some distance from the kelvic. Of course seeing as he'd been moving steadily with his long legs, and she'd been sitting still for a moment before starting off after him as she'd gotten dressed, it made sense that she'd have to rush a bit to catch up.

The sound of her breathing, its fast pace from her short jaunt, told him something by itself. She might be a kelvic, but she clearly wasn't in the best of shape. If nothing else she needed to work on her endurance.

When the girl chased after him, only to apologize to him, Clyde kept a smile from showing on his face at his small victory. Instead he kept his stern look of one somewhat annoyed put upon his face, and glaring outward at the kelvic.

Clyde did break a small smile as the kelvic confessed to not being a bandit, and that she was named Thyme.

He couldn't recall specifically, but he half remembered that the name had something to do with cooking.

“Hello Thyme the not bandit. I hope you've learned your lesson in your attempt to harass and intimidate random people in the woods. People don't take kindly to such. If I'd been a less reserved person, I might have taken your comment less well. Perhaps even decided to make a preemptive move to get the first blow in before bandits fell upon me, instead of just walking away. I don't suppose you considered that did you?”

“As for going back to your camp... Well for some rather obvious reasons, I'd rather not return to a camp where I was told bandits were lying in wait to attack me. Better safe than sorry, and I'm not fool enough to chance getting mixed up into such things. They tend to be messy.”

Clyde of course didn't mention that they tended to be messy for those who attacked Clyde in such a fashion, not for Clyde himself.

“However if you would like to continue walking with me, and talk then, well then that is up to you. But I've no intention of going back to your camp. I'm sure you understand. Or perhaps not. Either way, its up to you what you do, but I'm walking in this direction.”

True to his word Clyde would continue walking at his steady pace, slowly arcing his path so that he'd end up traveling more or less in his original direction, but skirting or circling wide to the left so as to widely avoid the earlier campsite.
