Hi Guys!
So I had a thought today. I've never actually included the sale of any puppies that the kennels generates to our profits. With us getting up there on staffing costs, that means its going to slow us down considerably on our remodel plans before we can do much more. Sure we are building all of it with Reimancy, but it still costs (with us doing the construction) half the cost of a normal physical labor build and we need to use mixed materials. I was really worried about where funding was going to come from to finish critical pieces of the Sanctuary like say the barns etc. Fortunately though, when I was doing calculations, I forgot to half a lot of stuff so when I went to catch the books up today I discovered we had a lot more funds than I thought to build with.
I'm tracking the costs in the Sanctuary Staff Salary thread.
Anyhow, currently, we have the Mews and Cow Barn paid for but unthreaded and unbuilt. I have do not have spare placeholders for Summer so these buildings will have to be built in the fall. So onto fall. I calculated the puppy sales prices and yippie if we sold all of our pups from the last two years, we have a spare 7075 GM to work with. This will buy the rest of the private quarters below ground so we can totally be done with the within.
Now Kavala has her F1 generation of Denusk horses, so all the offspring that aren't needed before now (I've kept good records) will generate more revenue. Plus she's going too sell off some of her broodmare herd because they are getting to be too many. All the boys are going except the chief stallions and that are listed in the thread. So we'll have more revenue there too. It's kinda sad too because her younglings are getting to a breedable age, but I need the revenue more than I need the horses since her breeding program is in full swing. Once she has straight Denusk horses (and breeds her yearling Denusk stallions to her best Non-Denusk mares) more of her horses can go. She's got at least four nightstalkers and their mixed blood offspring too so they will fetch good on the horse market. So that will not be a consideration until spring.
I'm thinking we need a spring horse fair at The Sanctuary and offer up some PC RP opportunities then have all the horses sold off during this fair. That will give us another cash kickback to boost our summer and spring building plans.
We spent 1500 GM on Vanator for armory stuff and personal expenses. He keeps what he doesn't spend for petty cash for whatever HE personally needs because he has nothing else to his name. The Zith even took his pride along with his skivvies! We can't have a skivvyless Drykas wandering around teaching.
Okay so back to plans. Kav has 10949 GM on hand after all that. She now has 7075 in pup revenue. For a total of 18,024 GM. Reverie is done so there's no more expense there. And we have to make staff payroll out of that which is 4,732 GM for NPCs and current staff (which might go up). So that leaves 13,292 to spend and that's before we have a spring horse fair and liquidate foals. Horse and dog breeding is lucrative.
So... what do we want to build?
I want to finish the Within completely. Now, remembering that everything is half what I have as actual cost because we're carving out with Reimancy, doing it ourselves and the actual cost is just for furnishings and finish work...
We have Raiha's Suite (which I'm giving away if Raiha doesn't come back anytime soon) at 2,500 for the package, and Private Quarters 7,8,9,10,11,and 12 for 6,000 leaving us a grand total of 8,500/2 for 4,250 GM. That gets that project done along with Reverie Isle. Yippie. That means we have 13,292 left to spend.
So then whats next? I'm tempted to spend the 24,00/2 and get all the horse barns done leaving us wiht 1,292 to play with until the spring horse fair generates more revenue. We'll also have more puppies in the spring as well. We don't actually want to build things like the Orangery or say put in gardens in the winter. I think we can use the Winter to really get the Cytali going and do some underground snug as a bug in a rug stuff in the Within. But if we have the barns, the sea cave won't be so crowded with lifestock. And if I haven't mentioned it already the mews and cow barns are paid for but unbuilt. If we wanted to push to the limit... we could do all the horse barns... groundswork like pathways fences etc which have no cost etc.
We could also pick up the pig and goat barns… and have 292 left.. and a lot of the building above already done. We’d just have outlying stuff like the cattery, pool, Veranda, and forge.. then all the stuff related to the Healing College which could be started in the Spring.
So for NaNo we'd have Cow Barn, Pig Barn, Goat Barn, Mews, and then... Stallion Barn, Broodmare Barn, and Boarders Barns all to go too. Those are huge barns so they've been purchased in multiples of three.
What's everyone think? That's just the building aspect of NaNo. WE can do some other adventure type stuff too.
