A city floating in the center of a lake, Ravok is a place of dark beauty, romance and culture. Behind it all though is the presence of Rhysol, God of Evil and Betrayal. The city is controlled by The Black Sun, a religious organization devoted to Rhysol. [Lore]

Ren let go of the branch letting it hit the ground with a thud.

Ren began to make a small trench in the ground with his pointer finger, he pulled it around untill it formed a circle. He started to make a second identical circle right beside the last. Ren shoveled a pile of sand on the ground beside his work, he then grabed a small amount with his hand from the larger pile pouring it into the cracks. He reapeated this process untill both circles were outlined in sand. Ren slapped his hands together scraping the remaining sand off.

"The next step, I appear to have instructed this step in error. I'll have you try again, with better guidelines this time. Now, your circles must be larger, and thicker. The first, large enough for you to fit in. The second circle must be large enough for that branch over there." With that, Reaver pointed at the smaller branch sitting by his sand pile. "Don't forget to connect the circles. These circles should be very close to my original drawing, as 'close enough' doesn't always work. Do you remember what my earlier circle looked like?" Reaver looks around, only to realize he left his drawing in the boat. "I seam to have forgotten my drawing in the boat, so feel free to get started while I go and get that. Just don't add the sand until we're sure it is in the shape we want."

Reaver made his way, the light easily letting him find the many large arrows he drew earlier. Once he got to the beach once again, he made his way down it until he found his boat. Gathering all his things once again, he made his way back to the clearing. He figured his twenty minute walk should have left his student plenty of time to try and get a good start. It will be dark before we finish. Good thing he has food.

(Sorry this was a fast one)Reaver walked off towards the beach, Ren watched until Reaver was engulfed by the trees. Ren started his work on the circles almost five minutes later. He sat on the ground his legs crossed over eachother, Ren then drew a circle that was large enough to surround his body. He then stepped out of the cicle carefull not smudge the lines that made up the circle, Ren then made a second smaller circle. Ren added the final part (a line connecting the circles.) He then sat down on the ground waiting for Reaver.

When Reaver got back to the meadow, he was pleased to see progress had started. "The circles are quite round this time, good job. Now, I'll draw the magic circle I use again, and the lines and shapes within it. With trial and error, you could make one that better suits you, but for now we'll use mine." Reaver handed Ren a drawing of a circle, that had quite a number of additional lines attached to it. "I drew it on my way back."

((I skipped Reaver drawing it 'cuz it didn't appear to contribute anything I didn't just repeat later.))

(Sorry for not responing so got caught up in my life lol)

Ren removed the paper from Reavers hands. Ren studied the picture, seeing only slight differences ren decided to add the changes to his already made circles. He quickly added the changes to his circles, standing up he gestured happily with his hads for Reaver to look.

Reaver took his time overlooking the circles, filling in sand and leveling it as he did so. Once he was done with his inspection, he grabbed the bendy branch he had gathered earlier and put it in the appropriate circle. "If you're hungry, need to use the restroom, or any other number of events, it may be appropriate to do that now. This process could take many hours. Feel free to eat something, and when ready, sit in the other circle. I'll do what I can to guide you through it. Remember that there is no time limit. Take your time, and don't rush." Reaver sat next to the two circles, and examined the layout again as he waited.

OOCWell, I've run a few quick posts myself lately, so we're on similar ground. :P This one felt quick, but I didn't want to start running off on a long post unprompted.

Ren Tanor
(Finnaly I'm back from my trip)Ren glanced over at the dead buck laying on the ground. He walked trying no to get to excited right in front of Reaver. As Ren got close enough to smell the buck he dropped on all fours, imediately shifting into his wolf form (it would be to hard to eat it with his human teeth.) His tounge tasted the animals warm bitter blood as he bit into the left breast of the buck, nearly choking on the large chunk of meat in his mouth. Ren only stopped eating to breathe only to take another bite out of the buck.

Teaching Lessons (Reaver)

Postby Reaver on May 1st, 2011, 4:57 pm

Reaver sat by quietly as Ren ate. It appeared that no cooking was needed at all. That contradicted what Reaver had heard so many times before, maybe it was just humans that needed to do that? Reaver took the time here to try and think of how the next stage was to be taught. His lesson from so long ago danced just out of the reach of his memories.

Reaver brought himself from his memories and sat near the two circles, gesturing Ren over once Ren looked done eating. If Ren needed the direction, he'd also point him to the circle. Once Ren sat inside, he'd continue. "Please fine a comfortable means of sitting, you'll be doing that for a while. Once you start the process, you should never leave the circle until you are done. Once you leave, the project ends there, finished or not. Are you ready?"

Ren nervously stood up from beside the buck and walked over to the circle. Ren sat down slowly, throwing glances of distress torwards Reaver every few seconds or so. It seemed like an eternity before he felt the uneven ground under him.

"Ready" Ren said nervously as he tried to find a comfortable sitting position on the ground.

Ren squinted his eyes anxious for the ritual to begin, a wretched feeling begin to fill in his gut causing him to almost vomit.

Teaching Lessons (Reaver)

Postby Reaver on May 3rd, 2011, 4:55 am

Reaver was quick to notice the new behavior patterns of his student. "Relax, or it won't do you much good at all. You don't need to start right away, I'll explain each step as you get to it, alright?" If it didn't seam to help Ren, he would offer more words of encouragement. Once Ren seamed reassured, he'd start his lecture. "The lesson here is for you to create a device known as a Life Principle. Think of it as a making a sculpture, made from Djed. The better you get at sculpting it, the better it becomes." Reaver paused for a moment, to ensure Ren was listening.

"The first part of the process, is to make something known as a Soulcore. This will be the shell through which you will be making your Life Principle. The soul core isn't just made from nothing, but instead modeled after a soul. As we only have the two circles in place, I'd suggest you try your own. You should be able to feel when it is capable of existing on it's own. Like working with a clay model, perhaps. But again, working with Djed." Reaver thought hard, to decide if he had left any important information out of that step. Having decided he had all his information in place, he had one final note to add. "Once you activate the circle, it should be more clear, and focusing on your own soul should be that much simpler."
