Here's the place to find information on 'How do I do that?' when it comes to creating avatars, signatures, calculating travel time or big purchases, or even working with the bbc code. There are help files for codework for both the main board forums and the lore sections. There are threads advertising players that are willing to create signatures for other players. Please feel free to discuss technical issues, photo cropping, suggest new bbc code, or get help from players and admins on things you want to do. This forum includes posts, wiki technical aid, avatar art, character sheet art, signature work, and all things visual when it comes to Mizahar.

Hello!

It's been a long time since I've been able to do much graphic designing, so I thought I would give my services to the community of Mizahar in a bit of a 'different' way and offer to do graphics and formatting code for Character Sheets.

This includes complete code for the formatting/aesthetics of a character sheet, and even just pieces of these (eg header images, character model images).


If you would like to make a request, please PM me. I don't have a specific format for requests, but here is a list of some specific examples of what you should tell me:

-Indicate what style you'd like different aspects of it to be. You can base this on the sample's I've got. (ie "I like the top header of sample 1, but the separation style of sample 2, and the skills layout of sample 4.") Feel free to mix and match.
-Giving me "just do what you want" is okay, just understand that this means I'm taking artistic freedom with it and if you don't like the styles I end up using, it's your fault for not being specific.
-Give me overall color schemes/themes that are relevant to your character and that you'd like present. For example if you want it blue with ocean stuff and sand, maybe some boat things, tell me. Even if it sounds weird or silly, just give me an idea.
-If you want your character model in there, either give me the specific images, links to them, or even the name so I can find them. Also tell me if you want the character model at just the top, in the headers, or in certain sections.


Things to note:
-Things like this take time. I may be able to get a full code back to you the same day, or it may take me a few. In the interest of quality and sanity, please be patient with me!
-It doesn't take much time for me to copypasta your existing appearance/concept/etc text into the code. I may do this by default just to make things easier on both of us, so if for any reason you don't want me to, let me know.
-If I do an image header containing your birthday and age, as soon as it reaches your next birthday this number will be incorrect. If you do pick this style I will provide you with links to a few images with the next few years' ages. Just so you know. Keeping updated is important.
-If there's something specific about the formatting you don't like that you have the ability to go and change yourself, feel free. This is your character sheet, you're not going to hurt my feelings.
-If you want to use one of the designs/images/models used in my samples, please just let me know and I can provide you with sources

-Content quality in this case matters much more than flashy pictures. I do not want to promote replacing a good character basis with an HD picture of a model and some nice text.
-Your character sheet must have been approved by the liaisons before I will accept any requests from you!
-I will not write your actual content for you. I am providing aesthetics only.
-If you are still building your character sheet, do not use my sample ones for reference. Not all of them are complete or correct. Instead, the Starting Guide and the Character Sheet Forum are great places for information and references.
-I'm not going to watermark what I give you or even ask you to give credit. This is an honor system, please don't make me sad and go around explicitly taking credit for things you shouldn't.

At 6", Thomas confidently stands, and always with impeccable posture. Dark, thick hair lays in stark contrast to the boy's unnaturally pale skin, bringing Thomas more attention then he would like. His coal-black eyes and thick eyebrows only make this contrast more apparent. While some may call the young man handsome, many more would admit to seeing an almost feminine quality of beauty to Thomas' face. Those who agree with the latter normally point out the boy's large eyes, and full lips. The rest of the young man's body would perhaps be best described as awkward. His limbs appear long enough to be reminiscent of the Symenstra race, and many others would say the boy is thin enough to be considered sickly.
He is hardly ever seen without some kind of gloves, or any other sort of cover of his hands, to hide the long, thin scars along the palms of his hands -- scars that would mark him as a practitioner of world magics to the more observant of the Mizaharian population.[/indent][/style2]

While Thomas would consider his own talents exceptional, he is not under the illusion that all of Mizahar would value his talents as much as he -- the young animator doesn't pretend to consider his arcane practices accepted in society. Experience and Sight have taught the young man how the majority of the world views magic, and his own practices with the fellow minded have taught Thomas to be wary of those who would seek the same knowledge the young Seer holds so dear.
Thomas has been left with a cold view of the world, a tragedy for one so young. He has learned to trust few, and is generally disillusioned with life in of itself. The young animator constantly seeks out adventure and variation, never being one to settle for a simple life.[/indent][/style2]

The maiden said no, and that she was promised to another.

And then the knight was no longer so honorable.

He left heartbroken, and cried for himself. He drank himself unfeeling, for he knew he could not live without the fair maiden. The knight knew how to get what he wanted, and it wasn't something he wanted to remember. The young and noble knight convinced himself he could still be honorable if he didn't remember.

But he did. Remember. And the maiden still married him, because she was now both ruined and without her love. Who would want her now besides the young and noble knight? Three wonderful and beautiful children were had, and she loved them. But not enough, never enough. The now old woman slowly spiraled deeper and deeper into the sadness, sometimes staying in beds for days at a time. Unmoving. And then one day she didn't get up.

And the once young and noble Knight was sad. And he quickly became an old and bitter man.

The oldest of the three children joined the Knighthood, only to be quickly joined by his youngest sister. They were both truly honorable, and happy with their new lives. Truth and Hope guide them as Sight does their youngest brother.

The youngest of the three was blessed by Sight and made their old father proud. Too proud. The rebellion of the youngest son hurt the father too much, and pride turned to hate. And mistrust. And the youngest son became so easy to blame for all the wrong in the father's life.

So one night, the youngest son left. That place was no longer his home.[/indent][/style2][/style]

Base Pay: 500 GM + 5GM/day (Master Apprentice Bonus) + 3GM/Day (Connection Bonus: Cid)= 500 + 400 + 270= 1170 GM

Personal Projects (Summer 2013): During the season of Summer Thomas is expected to propose at least 3 new golem designs, as well as provide diagrams and a working model to present to Kromby and Filch. These golems should be of a practical use to Sahova, or Lab 15, and be easily mass produced. Thomas is encouraged to seek the aid of another apprentice when working with the Gadgeteering aspect, but all Animations must be done by the Master Apprentice himself. The Grants above must be put toward this purpose, and what is left is for Thomas' own personal use.

Master Apprentice Projects: In addition to his own personal projects give to him by Kromby and Filch, Thomas is now responsible for keeping the Lab's Apprentices on track and working. As new apprentices come in Thomas is to greet them and make sure they understand their purpose in Sahova, as well as answer any questions. Thomas is also responsible to delegate other tasks given to him by Kromby and Filch to the rest of the apprentices. He is to ensure all golems are produced on time, and proper inspected; deal with all incidences involving apprentices, including squabbles and disputes; and ensure that the Grant money delegated to him by Kromby and Filch is proper distributed to their appropriate tasks.

Its design is similar to that of other Follower Golems, though there are a few strange oddities about it. It seems that there has been left plenty of room for modifications to be made. Several open spaces which seem to fit some form of crystal or gem run along its side and in its back. Once animated the golem will follow simple commands such as leading people around the Citadel and can even guide Thomas through the twisting corridors of the first 20 levels of the Caverns.

[*][b]The Blue Gem[/b]: When installed in one of the sockets the Follower will gain the ability to answer simple questions, usually yes or no answers, thus deviating from its usual "Follow Follow" speech patter.
[*][b]The Green Gem[/b]: Grants Stranger the ability to activate any offline golem as long as there is 1) Physical contact between it and the golem, and 2) the golem already has directives and programming. It also gives Stranger a larger vocabulary, enabling it to form short sentences, though it still can only answer simple questions such as directions to a lab, or the time of day.[/list]

Title: Master Apprentice
Base Pay: 500 GM + 5GM/day (Master Apprentice Bonus) + 3GM/Day (Connection Bonus: Cid)= 500 + 400 + 270= 1170 GM

Personal Projects (Summer 2013): During the season of Summer Thomas is expected to propose at least 3 new golem designs, as well as provide diagrams and a working model to present to Kromby and Filch. These golems should be of a practical use to Sahova, or Lab 15, and be easily mass produced. Thomas is encouraged to seek the aid of another apprentice when working with the Gadgeteering aspect, but all Animations must be done by the Master Apprentice himself. The Grants above must be put toward this purpose, and what is left is for Thomas' own personal use.

Master Apprentice Projects: In addition to his own personal projects give to him by Kromby and Filch, Thomas is now responsible for keeping the Lab's Apprentices on track and working. As new apprentices come in Thomas is to greet them and make sure they understand their purpose in Sahova, as well as answer any questions. Thomas is also responsible to delegate other tasks given to him by Kromby and Filch to the rest of the apprentices. He is to ensure all golems are produced on time, and proper inspected; deal with all incidences involving apprentices, including squabbles and disputes; and ensure that the Grant money delegated to him by Kromby and Filch is proper distributed to their appropriate tasks.

Stranger*
Its design is similar to that of other Follower Golems, though there are a few strange oddities about it. It seems that there has been left plenty of room for modifications to be made. Several open spaces which seem to fit some form of crystal or gem run along its side and in its back. Once animated the golem will follow simple commands such as leading people around the Citadel and can even guide Thomas through the twisting corridors of the first 20 levels of the Caverns.

Gems
  • The Blue Gem: When installed in one of the sockets the Follower will gain the ability to answer simple questions, usually yes or no answers, thus deviating from its usual "Follow Follow" speech patter.
  • The Green Gem: Grants Stranger the ability to activate any offline golem as long as there is 1) Physical contact between it and the golem, and 2) the golem already has directives and programming. It also gives Stranger a larger vocabulary, enabling it to form short sentences, though it still can only answer simple questions such as directions to a lab, or the time of day.
