New Medal Announced: Guest Storyteller!

So, you've wanted to help out Mizahar but you don't quite have time to Storytell full time or don't want the responsibility? You aren't sure you'll like it or that you have the right stuff, but you want to try your hand out at Storytelling anyhow? Here's a perfect opportunity. We've set up a Guest Storyteller Medal for folks that want to try out moderating one thread and seeing how it goes. It gives you a chance to earn a fancy medal (or not so fancy - I did design it after all) and do something new. Anyone can guest storytell. All you need to do is follow a really simple set of rules.

Basically, its really simple. Fill out a brief questionnaire and drop it in the Help Desk. We'll give you the nod, and might pm the plotnotes to a local DS (if there is one) and your off and running! Remember, guest moderators can't run gods or divine interventions, but other than that the sky is the complete limit. Also, if you want to mod yourself a solo thread or act as a mod within a thread you are running (inventing bandits, fighting badguys, etc) feel free to post a thread in the help desk accordingly as well. As long as the reward for self-moderated isn't too grandiose, this is fine as well so long as you have approval.

All Guest Storyteller threads will be graded by an official storyteller or Founder accordingly. Guest Storyteller's cannot give out XP. If you are interested in BEING a guest storyteller and do not have anyone to guest storytell for, please feel free to drop a line into this thread letting folks know you're willing to give it a try. If you have a plot you need a guest storyteller for, feel free to do likewise, letting us know in here.

I'd love to guest story tell for someone, if they'll have me!

As an add in, I'd also love to have someone guest story tell some of my adventures in Ravok, or in a flashback!

I'm wanting to do some actual fighting threads. Perferably in Denval since Wind Reach doesn't seem like the place to fight with the natives ^^

Since Seth vanished and I don't want to add to V's already overloaded duties in Ravok, I find myself in need of a storyteller for when this PC applies for a position in a certain establishment (details shall be discussed in private).

There's a little caveat: you have to be an adult in real life (preferably above the age of 23...yes, it's a random number) because of the mature nature of this plot. Approval from Verilian and/or GIllar may be required as I'm told there are 'tests' before one gains employment in said establishment. If anyone's interested, please send me a PM and copy Verilian in it.

Like:
-Fighting
-Rough training/sparring (Martial, or otherwise physical)
-Bigger scale skirmishes
-Sneaky threads
-Anything requiring a tactical mind
-Correcting the wrongs of society
-Hunting (on occasion)

Note: I can come up with the story behind the whole thread if you want. Can throw a bit of variety at ya.

Dislike:
-Bar Threads
-Fluff
-Telling me about how great your character is in thread >.>
-Too much of one thing in a given thread
-Romance (as a guest mod)
-Undermining the unfortunate

What I can use:
-Training for Dare
-Heated fights
-A few magic lessons
-A few lessons on possible gods that he might find interest in (just teach/show him)

I would not mind assisting V in Ravok, by telling a small story or two over there. However, be prepared for a longer thread. I may be a touch cruel and dark in my implementation... for Ravok's sake. Applicants beware.

Anywhere else would involve reading a lot of lore, so it may take some time.

EDIT: I will run only one or two such stories before deciding if I like guest moderating or not.

I need a guest storyteller for a thread. I need some bandits/highwaymen played, and hopefully one of them has medical knowledge.

This sounds a really fun opportunity!

Maybe when I have been in the community for a little bit longer and see what sort of threads and experiences I like I could give Guest Moderating a go, it sounds like it would help with analysing skills and make you more aware of what people write. Plus gives the Moderators a bit less to do which is good!
